Galneryus is a legendary band. Syu is the Japanese guitar god imo. He has influenced countless younger guitarists, including midori from lovebites. The drummer here is fumiya (from unlucky morpheus). He has been the drummer of Galneryus for 4 years. I recommend 《Ultimate Sacrifice》live as the next🔥🤘🏻
Galneryus has done heaps of amazing songs also for the first half of the band they had a different vocalist YAMA-B and their style evolves and changes throughout the years. So some good songs I would recommend are the force of courage, raise my sword, angel of salvation, brutal spiral of emotions, whatever it takes (raise our hands), T.F.F.B, destiny, hunting for your dream, ultimate sacrifice, everlasting, whisper in the red sky, struggle for the freedom flag, united flag, the flag of reincarnation, and chasing the wind.
Yama-B are more raw but more agressive, sometimes almost Judas Priest level agressive. both vocalist are good depend on the music, Song like angel of salvation would FUBAR if yama-B sing it but on song like point of no return or braving flag Ono voice make the song much weaker
Galneryus has achieved the level of legend in metal music especially in Japan. I kinda like the previous vocalist more than this one (sorry I forgot both their names) cause the previous vocalist has more grit in his voice, whereas their current one feels too clean for my taste. But their music... dang, man. Talking about talents and skills. Especially Syu. His skills are god-like lol.
Galneryus is a great team and really deserves recognition. You said , you like darker sounds. I recommend The GazettE. It's not western metal, it has a specific and very interesting sound. Check out the songs after 2013 . Their earlier songs are cool , I think , however , they are not your cup of tea . To start with The Gazette - Ominous & Undying live w/subs . They are better live .
If you are looking for a darker song by galneryus. Then I recommend "the howling darkness" (studio version). I think you will find it with the taste you are looking for

I have all their live on BluRay / DVD and this is probably the worst mixed one unfortunately.
