I had most of these episodes from season one and all of season two on VHS but they've disappeared over the years. Thanks for this, brings back great memories. What a genius Kim Gyngell is!

This shows hilarious, Col n's Mum is so funny and entertaining. Thank you. I remember watching these videos back in the 1980s . Thanks for the uploads from down Under Melbourne 🦘
Hey Stig, many thanks for sharing this. Loved the show and watching it brought back so many good memories. Back in the day when Aussie comedy was at its best. Simple, clean and lots of laughs! 👍👌
No problem. Thanks for posting these. I watched all of the first four episodes & really enjoyed them. The show still holds up very well. I would certainly buy a DVD box set to watch the rest of these.
Stig, my husband Archie was mates with Paul Hogan when he was painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge. That was before I met him, but he used to talk fondly of the good times he had hanging out with you, Paul and Delvine.
I really miss this kind of comedy via Australia....All the mid 80's greats Comedy Company, Fast Forward/Full Frontal and even Mother & Son as well?! What happened to Australia and it's once great comedy aspect, it's pretty obvious in what happened here and I don't even recognise my country anymore in 2020 or should I say the 21st century either...Hell I'd even take back "Smile You're On Candid Camera!!!" too!!! Very sad we're we've ended up in no less than 33 years plus....Ashamed.
Thanks Stig!! I used to record the show every night after school when it was re-run. My sister and I have just about worn the tapes away over the years. Hadn't seen any of the "blue intro screen" episodes though!
Don't remember seeing this on TV! "I was rude..." "That's alright, you're a teacher!" Back in the 1980s, teachers spoke to & treated kids like 2nd class citizens! It may have swung all the way in the opposite direction now! Was there ever hapoy medium?
Thank you Stig had no idea who you were but I remember coln as a kid know I'm showing my teenagers!!!!! Can't wait for the sole shop one it's me favourite
Imagine a movie with Kim Gyngell as Col'n , just going about town and his simple ways and accidentlly doing the right thing and not realizing it.. ...... it would be amazing just to bring the character back.
Hi Stig, Congratulations on negotiating successfully with the right people. Not only would I like to own a boxed set of this series, I'd like to do a commentary for it.
Any chance of posting more episodes? I loved this show and have been looking for episodes for years, Great show and great cast, except for that Micheal character. J/K
Hi Stig. Your brother used to come & talk regularly at my school for something called Police Studies (if i'm not mistaken), around the time this show was on the air. Would have been 1990 & i was in grade 6 at the time. He was then 'Constable' Wemyss.
@stigwemyss Col'n Carpenter box set - who would have thought! I'll be investing for sure. I remember "Dusty Daffodils" or something - Colin got a job on building site moving bricks from one end of a yard to the other, then he over did the Dencorub on his tired legs haha. And he wore shorts that episode = Michael said "I didn't think you even owned a pair of shorts", TELEVISION GOLD!
Ah yes, well he's still in force and is an inspector now. I don't think he adresses grade six classes anymore but I'm sure he's pleased some one remembered. Thanks for the feedback Dave.
Oliver M Spot on. That was Pat. I was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else had mentioned it first. And if not, I was gonna add it. Glad to know another Prisoner fan is here.
@@ichad6950 awesome! I have a confession to make, I've watched the whole prisoner series 30 times over, and now during corona virus, I can't get enough. Good to see her again here!!
Oliver M Wow really! I'm probably not far off that. Maybe seen it about 20 times or more, from start to finish. I absolutely love Prisoner. I've been thinking about watching it all again from the beginning, while I'm stuck at home too. I've heard it's all on YT. So I might check it out on here for something different.
@@ichad6950 yep all 692 episodes are on TH-cam. I'm currently yet again on episode 41 when Mr Fletcher arrived. Amazing I can never get sick of watching this series, it's like a drug addiction for the eyes.
Not as good as the Comedy Company, but better than watching Foxtels Noom, Finder and other ads a thousand fucken times a day. It’s a bit of harmless fun, not hilarious, but it’s good laugh
I had most of these episodes from season one and all of season two on VHS but they've disappeared over the years. Thanks for this, brings back great memories. What a genius Kim Gyngell is!
Spot on. This shows shines a mirror on what we've lost as as a nation.

Thank you Stig for sharing this. Col'n Carpenter was a brilliant character - it was so much fun in the early '90s.
I love when he finally gets Felicity’s name right, she’s so flustered she starts to correct him with Facility haha.
Thanks. Still good in 2024.
Loved this show back in the day. Thanks for posting.
I've tried to track this down for years. Had I known it was here, it would've saved me 3-4 years

Col’n Carpenter and Dame Edna. Makes you proud to be an Aussie

Thanks for posting mate. Aussie comedy just seemed so much better back in the 80's/early 90's.
Hey woolyhairs, glad you like it. I am in the process of finding out about a DVD box set for this show. Stayed tuned.
Stig
Thanks a million for this, Stig
Geez we used to love this show.
Thankyou so so so much for posting this, mate! Absolutely love it. Always have. Used to watch it when it aired on Tv back in the day.
Michael Eggleton I know Michael, it certainly had a charm all it's own. And Kim Gyngell's character is so brilliant. Thanks for posting. :)
Oh yeh LOVE the character! Even today i still wish he'd pop up somewhere on tv. lol Wishful thinking perhaps.

i was in the audience for the taping of that first episode, out at Nunawading... 22 years ago now. Wow it doesn't seem like that long ago.
I'd love to see the episode with Colin at Centrelink.

He could get a job 'at' Centrelink. Although he may be over qualified.

Kim used to go the Same Gym as me in Stkilda. We always spoke he's actually a Really nice guy ..
Ha!Ha! This is a classic Aussie comedy show. I work with a guy just like Col'n. Mmuch better than the dry American stuff you get on TV.
Glad you like it.
