- The Col'n Carpenter show aired on Channel 10 in 1989/91. Col'n Carpenter began as a character on the hugely successful sketch comedy show, The Comedy Company. Kim Gingell, the man who created and performed the character, took the concept of a spin-off show to Network Ten. This was written by the great Doug Macleod and guest stars episode.
i would give ANYTHING to see the "diary" episode. seriously that was one of the funniest things i've ever seen!

People who dislike this are people who do so they think that is is some kind of fame----As they point to the dislike in front of other people and proclaim proudly ---LOOK. THAT IS ME. YAH. Can’t think of any other reason
I had all the Col'n Carpenter eps on VHS, sadly they disappeared over the years. The "diary" - some classic dialogue there, can't wait to see that again! I liked "dusty daffodils" as well (every episode of Col'n Carpenter was a classic!), but I think that one was in the second series when Mrs Fuller was around.

Fantastic, can't wait! :) I still have quite a few episodes on VHS somewhere but sadly I don't have a video player. I also saw you mentioned previously about releasing them on DVD. Do you have any updates on that? :)
Unfortunately no news on the DVD. Long story but the rights are tied up with channel Ten and it's difficult to even find the right person to speak to about realising them. Still burrowing away though. X

Thanks for trying :) Seems crazy to sit on a comedy goldmine and to not repeat them on tv at the very least. Maybe we should all contact channel ten and stomp our feet a bit. I'll also attempt to recover the ones I have stored away, I've got a fair few but want them all dammit :) Hopefully the tape hasn't worn because I did watch them a lot! :)
Im loving your enthusiasm. Yeah, we should start a FB petition page. I get lots of contact from people who feel the same as you. And it's ridiculous that they won't just release the rights. They are not using them!

I remember one where he was cutting out the letter K from magazines and cereal boxes because he saw an add for something he wanted to buy for 5 K as he did not know it meant Five Thousand Dollars...... classic.

michael finds julia writing a diary. then col'n starts writing one 2. michael later reads julia's diary & is saddened that he's not mentioned at all. he decides 2 leave, but col'n tells him that julia just wrote a new enter, saying how sad she is that michael is gone. michael's is touched & decides 2 stay. it turns out col'n was lying & julia never wrote it, but she's glad he convinced michael 2 stay
