      Boot camp was… certainly an experience. I was lucky enough to be RCPO of my division, and it was the first time I was the leader of a large group. My division went in to make Battle E. Boot camp teaches you how to carry yourself as a sailor, and how to be a leader. Shoutout to my RDCs and my division (Hooyah 086!)

    • @Kap2406
      @Kap2406 หลายเดือนก่อน

      15 minutes to get up, get dressed, make your bed, stow your gear the right way, brush your teeth, shave. That is for 90 recruits with about 12-15 sinks available. Plus, you have to remember, that this is their 2nd-3rd day of bootcamp, when no real training happens due to medical and processing procedures.

  • @Caliwide

      These videos don't make sense to me either. I went through Great lakes, I don't think it was particularly horrible, but my RDCs never gave us 15 minutes to do anything, let alone brush our teeth and shave. We were expected to do that after taps on our own time

    Dude, my DS was telling us that if we didn’t get right in 60 seconds he was going to look in our personnel files for our mother’s contact info and make us a sibling that isn’t a fuck up.
    We had 15 minutes from wake up to formation and every platoon had 40 clean shaven privates with freshly brushed teeth and only 6 sinks per platoon. If you weren’t toeing the line in your PTs with full lotti-dotti-everybody accountability the entire bay would be wrecked upon return.

Then they loaded us up on a cattle truck and it all went down hill from there. I had a man hitting my head with the brim of his hat telling me how much he misses killin. Someone threw up and had to shove it in their pocket because they hadn’t been given permission to throw up. Running for literal hours. Front, back, gos till I thought I would die. You spent 8 week learning to say “Sir yes Sir.” to a PO or Chief, and then get out to your A school or the Fleet and have to unlearn that. Often with a “I am not a Sir. I work for a living.” as part of the unlearning, which of course I passed on when I became a PO, along with other things I learned as an Airman.

      You spent 8 weeks learning a bad habit that you then had to unlearn once you got out of Bootcamp. Here these recruits are learning how to properly address a PO or Chief (Who they are going to be dealing with a hells of a lot more than an O.), in Bootcamp, not after they graduate.
      I have no doubt they will be learning how to properly address an O as well.
