I see reports of rides in your part of the world and it looks very beautiful but in a completely different way. I think I'd struggle without forests and wild water all around me but I'd like to try it one day. This route was truly amazing though and I was definitely enjoying it enough for two :)
One of the great things about this trail is that the whole thing is pretty much traffic free and the trail sections are long enough that you can just ride and watch the world go by without worrying too much about getting lost. It was a very peaceful ride, even when the weather set in a bit.
I wish I could have. Or even better I wish I could have picked up the Second City Divide from Glasgow and carried on South. Cheers for watching along. I'm glad you are enjoying it. One more day to go - I need to get editing!
Nothing more required :) I'm really glad you are enjoying the videos. I absolutely loved the trip and will hopefully do more from Scotland in the future
Car camped in Glen Lyon with my brother once. It's a beautiful place. Forgot all our food...30 miles round trip for a takeaway. Happy days! Another well-shot movie that needs us all to get out there.
An old chap turned up in his car the next morning who had meant to be there for the night but had to go back as he forgot something! He drove up from Glasgow in the morning just to have breakfast by the loch 😀
@@Ey_up Totally. And the chip shops are often on another level! I really hope I can get back up there soon. I've been eying up the Cairngorm Loop if I can find the time this summer.
Really nice, Jethro. The views were superb from the moment you unzipped the tent and only got better as the day went on. Too bad there’s only one more day of this adventure left to go. And too bad as well that your mate Alan wasn’t along for the ride.
It is an amazing route and Alan would have loved it! I was sorry to see it end as well but hopefully there will be more adventure coming soon and hopefully Alan will be involved 😉
I highly recommend it if you have the chance. It is a fantastic route and I loved every mile of it even when the weather got a bit bleak. It's hard but doable and the landscapes are amazing.
Lovely, trails, mountains, forests and lochs, lovely music and trees, flowers and such. Another captivating day on the Divide-thanks for taking us along with you. Sorry to see this one end.
It always feels like they end too soon but this one more so than most. I felt like I really found my legs on this day and would happily have carried on for another week ... month ... year?
Camped at that reservoir once a bit to close to the edge, they pumped water back up during the night and we were a foot under water at 4 in the morning
Wow, that sounds terrifying! I did see a lot of reservoirs where this was obviously a regular occurrence but this patch is a designated camp spot so I'd hope they don't flood it that often 😉
@@sandersson2813 Nothing more terrifying than seeing your beer float away! I remember seeing a documentary once about a place - in Iceland I think - where they would execute people by tying them in a sack and throwing them in the sea. I sometimes think about that when I'm camped near water and it freaks me out.
Hit many distilleries yet? Surely Loch Drunkie needed a wee dram to toast the name haha........... I'm really liking your editing my friend, seems very seamless from the talky bits to the scenic riding bits and a great sound track to boot (are the first 2 tracks new? I don't think I've hear them on your channel before?) Looking forward to day 6 :)
Cheers, sometimes the edits come together, sometimes not so much. It's more luck than judgement 😉 I think I've used all these tracks at some point but I definitely have a few go to ones that get more love than others. I'm always on the look out for new ones but my requirements for a soundtrack are quite specific and TH-cam only has so many acoustic, melancholy yet uplifting folk ballads 😉
I only bought the frame so I dunno what the stock bars would be. Mine are Surly Molokos and i really like them. Good hand positions, nice sweep, really comfy for long days in the saddle
Loving this route was it May when you did the ride no midges we did NC500 in September and they were a nightmare. I would love to give this a go but not sure of the best way to travel to Inverness from North Devon any thoughts 🤔 have you used Komoot? Anyway I’m addicted watching your films they’re so chilled and beautiful takes me away from the grind of everyday things 😊 thank you
Yeah, I've been up there in midge season on other trips and it was pretty bad. Sweden was even worse sometimes! Fortunately they don't seem that interested in me. They land on me but don't seem to bite much or I don't react if they do. Same with ticks. Inverness is a mission for you for sure. I'd always choose to do a journey like that on the train but you're looking at a big old journey whatever you decide. I did try komoot but I didn't get on with it. This was a few years back but it was too prescriptive with its routes and wouldn't let me plan my own. You just gave it point A and point B and it did the rest. I think you could specify road size and surface but I asked it to plan some routes that I already know the best options for and it did a terrible job. I've never found an auto route planner that was up to the task so I use RideWithGPS because it lets you tailor your own in great detail. Once I have a route i export it to Gaia. I rarely need turn-by-turn so I just use my phone for navigation
And your point is? 😉 I know. It's a stupid phrase really. I actually slept like a tired bikepacker who found a nice pitch at the last minute. That doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well though.
Beautiful place! Thank you for capturing it. Great video 👍🏻
It was a stunning route. Glad you enjoyed watching along 😉
I'm so inspired by your adventures Jethro - I can't wait to go cycling with you again !
We need to make that happen soon! Summer is coming, lets plan a ride :)
fabulous mossy trees!
The whole ride was amazing for moss fanciers but that particular stretch was something else! I've never anything like it.

wild beauty jethro ☺👍
Are you referring to the landscapes or to the film maker?
