After the 10,000 year journey to Almagest, Luca was brought out of cryo storage. Archaeologists are still trying to piece together the events that led to the destruction of all the colonies.... 🐱
Instead of alternating hinges, try alternating hinges and rotors so each segment can twist freely without sending extra rotational force down the line. The chain should be able to properly go slack without clanging out
Oo that might work x3 kinda thought of doing something like that as well, I should try again xD brute forcing it with something bigger right now though x3
Ive tried this for welding ships. Im pretty sure I told you about it once. Its pretty fun to mess around with though regardless. I think the issue is similar to how thrusters will make a ship swing back and forth when docked to an extended piston were the tics cant keep up with the movement of the subgrids because the movement of each 1 effects all the others. Its like teaching someone history by hitting them in the face with a history book, yelling out "REMEBER THE ALAMO!!!' and throwing forks into a blender
I've tried to build a wire welding ship too and failed. I think all options are doomed because the thrusters always apply force to the center of mass of the ship, i.e. including the hinges chain. We can only hope that the SE2 will include support for ropes and chains.
Ah xD I don't remember, and hmm u wu that might be the issue yeah x3 I think there's just too much physics going on for the smol missile xD I'm trying it out again with something bigger though x3
First of all, you're in gravity. So as you move, the mass of the missile is always changing. Think of picking up a link of chain and how it gets heavier in your hand the more links that you pick up off the ground. Wire guided missiles use a very light wire or now fiberoptics in order to communicate IRL. If they had to drag a chain behind them, they wouldn't work so well.
Well... Yes. That's why I will never work with stuff like that ever again. First time I tried to make a miner, connected to the base. Second time I tried to connect 8 identical solar arrays to form a ring, but decided to move them paired (by a hinge, it was an experience).
Ya know, I was trying to find out how to build a mech in SE with youtube and somehow I was lead here. I'm pretty sure this is not how you make a mech but good to know people are bending the will of Klang in such innovative ways, such as this missile(???)
large grid dlc explosives barrel but make a small grid missile and magplate it in the small grid missile..... ill make one but you make one also, like you can drop the barrel in and thus a payload is in, large grid/smallgrid missile hybrid
Luca: "Maybe if I share inertia tensor..."
Me: "OH NO"
xD I thought it would make it more stable
@@LucaTheGuide Yup, famous last words XD

xD ♥
The American Bradley actually uses wire guided missile to prevent interference, but ya know the wire is much thinner and several miles long
Maybe on SE2 we'll have an actual wire-like thing u wu ♥ x3 and O: didn't know the wire is like several miles long xD that's l o n k
Its actualy one of the reason the tow is not suposed to be used above water.
Btw some ppl said the wire is sharp af
seems like something you would watch 4am when trying to get some sleep
Clanging hinges or xD
KLANG has been summoned!
Now try it in SPAAAAAAACE!
I tried it again in gravity but with something bigger xD uploading something now
It looks like those medical animations showing how protiens interact with each other😭
Like snakes or xD

Ye wasn't expecting that xD

Yeah hopefully we'll get an actual cable like thing on SE2 xD
That's more of a chain guided missile.... and that's one heavy chain!
Ye u wu maybe we'll have an actual cable-like thing on SE2 x3 ♥
we got tow missiles before space engineers 2
Will SE2 have actual wires u wu ♥
did you forget to make a sacrifice to Klang before making this lol
I shall do so in future Clang-inducing endeavors u wu
Luca: "I'm going to enable damage" -and Wile E. Coyote steps onto the stage.
Yeah SE damage be like xD
Absurdly resource intensive but this has me wondering about a missile guided by laser antennae now.
Might not be that expensive if the hinges aren't welded up x3 and hmm, I wonder if that can work u wu

Yeah there seems to just be too much physics going on unless what's connected is really heavy xD
Heil Clang!
Ye x3 ♥
That works in space...
From my experience not really. It definitely depends on something, but I can't understand on what.
Does it xD and @egor: apparently it's mass x3 uploading something else with it now c=
Wire controlled units not work - noted :P
depends on your terms of the word, "work." i see some potential something released in your enemy's ship in smaller quantities. :D
@@asianartist1 like "rocket with CHAIN reaction" :P
Ye u wu trying again with something bigger though x3
Oh no, do you want to break Space engineers so that the second part will come out quickly? 😆
xD can't wait for the 27th u wu

I wonder what youll cook up in SE2!
Reminds me of those videos of a snake having a seizure from hot asphalt street. 🙈

Maybe with a gyro on override and larger thrusters...
Yeah apparently more mass really helps xD
