been playing with making these for 3 years and always come back to watch this. Just love how perfect the power roll fire is in this small engine. Just a great job.
Dick, very nice engine build and starts easily too. I also use a rubber o-ring instead of the expensive and hard to make cast iron piston rings. Thanks for posting. Later, RT.
very impressed by your channel! I've been obsessed with engines my entire 24 years and recently became very interested in building my own small engines using my rather limited materials and means of production (I'm not opposed to a challenge) will keep looking at yours for inspiration for sure
I am new to things like this, but if you wanted a throttle, could you effectivly just build a mechanism that kept the things that expand down so the valves would still move? Just a question.
hello warren. I am using cdi from s/s. If u look closely between the flywheel spokes u can c the brass disk that holds the 1/8" magnet. the hall effect pickup is mounted below. A setscrew through the disk allows for adj on the crankshaft.
+dickinohio I am fascinated by the hit and miss engine and i cant fined any for sale at a good pries wood you sell one of them for a good pries .thanks
+Szymon thanks for visiting my page. Sorry i don't sell any of my engines. Let me explain why. These are all hand built engines. It took me 150 hrs to build this little green engine. Figluring $20. per hour that would be $3000 us dollars plus the material. I don't think anyone wants to spend that much money for a little engine.
Dick, really nice that you took the time to post this video. I forgot I had a set of plans for this, and just ran across it again. How many hours would you say you had in the build? Thanks! Chris
It's pretty sad that this kind of stuff is not really homemade, I mean, you need some knowledge of course but also pretty specialiced tools wich only few people have. Nice engine btw.
If you look around you can find lathes really cheap. Mills cost a bit more, but I've seen bridge ports go for under $1500 us. Look for estate sales and school auctions. Small machine shops the go to auction are good too

Very nice little engine, amazing that the o-ring works so well.
looks great and makes me smile
That's great ! Sounds good. Thanks for posting your engine run.
Beautiful little engine.
It wants to move around. That's pretty neat.

Fantastic! excellent work Sir.

Thank you for your comment and good luck with you venture into model ending. Its a very rewarding hobby. Dick
beautiful little engine you have there where did you find the plans for this engine as i would love to be able to make one this summer ?
cheers

beautiful engine, nice job
Congratulations, it is very well prepared
This is really cool I Just started building this fount the plans the other day
Very cool. Nice job.
Is it done.....??!
Wow, I wish I had the know how to build those little engines. Great job. The heat from the engine doesn't melt the rubber o'ring?
bundle of thanks sir to upload such type of amazing video
I am new to things like this, but if you wanted a throttle, could you effectivly just build a mechanism that kept the things that expand down so the valves would still move? Just a question.
Hello Josh, the speed of the engine is controlled by the spring tension of the governor weights. Thanks for the visit. Dick
Yes I understand that, if you were to have a mechanism that kept those weights from expanding, the engine would rev up, correct?
A simpler way is to make a devise to stop the exhaust valve stop from engaging.
correct
Where’d you get that exhaust it looks cool
made it
Nice build Dick! The ignition system looks different than the plans. Can you elaborate?
Warren

Is that for sale? You said that was easy to make, I stand amazed. There’s no way I can make something like that.
Great work!
love the mini scale wons
Did you have to mill the spokes. Or did you use like bearing races on something else.
billybonewhacker I milled the flywheel from bar stock.
Whew that was alot of work. Great video
+dickinohio I am fascinated by the hit and miss engine and i cant fined any for sale at a good pries wood you sell one of them for a good pries .thanks
+billybonewhacker Yes i did mill the spokes and yes it is a lot of work. Thanks for looking

Could that engine be used for any chores? Does it have a force rating?
Its #1 chore is just to make me smile. Thanks for the comment.
Haha, it would make me smile to.
i would do anything to get one of those or to get the parts to build one
where can i buy these cute little engines?
hallo, pleas Can you explain what do I need to buy to make ignition system
www.cncengines.com/ic.html
What would you charge me to build me one of these engines or I would purchase this one?
Sorry Fred. I don't sell my engines and I don't build engines for sale. Just don't have the time.
What would something like this power?
I want one but I don't have a machine shop to cast it in and I don't have money to buy pre built ones
what tools and machines are needed to build this engine
The normal stuff. Lathe, Milling machine, and saw.
how much would you charge for one of these?? i don't have a lathe or anything like that and really want one.
grettagrids I think he said like 3000$
So damn cool it hurts.
do you have to make castings for the parts?
Thomas Loo No casting required.
Beautiful!
Thank You
you should see if you could power a rc car notor backwards and m turn it into power, it'd be cool, like a mini generator
Beautiful
I wonder if it is diesel or gasoline
Its gasoline zico. thanks for looking
Amazing, WOW, wow woooow.
Dick, really nice that you took the time to post this video. I forgot I had a set of plans for this, and just ran across it again. How many hours would you say you had in the build?

Chris
150
dickinohio Fewer than I figured. You just have LOTS of experience. Thanks for the reply ~Chris
nice engine
Thanks for your kind words.
Hi,
would you sell me this engine by any chance?
Regards,
Jan
+Jan Savay-Guerraz Sorry Jan i don't sell any of my engines.
do you have the specs for this engine? if you won't sell the engines maybe we could try building them ourselves.
The plans for this engine are free and online. www.machinistblog.com/free-plans-david-kerzels-hit-miss-engine/
Could you make me one?
R u willing to sell any
Hello Liam, I have never sold any of my engines. I just enjoy building and collecting. ;-)
That's ok do u know if there's any on the market
very beauti full
It's pretty sad that this kind of stuff is not really homemade, I mean, you need some knowledge of course but also pretty specialiced tools wich only few people have.
Nice engine btw.
TheBiMAX Bimax anybody can buy a mill and lathe if they put their mind to it
If you look around you can find lathes really cheap. Mills cost a bit more, but I've seen bridge ports go for under $1500 us. Look for estate sales and school auctions. Small machine shops the go to auction are good too
awwww shes a cutie!!!!
Hi,would you be interested in selling it?regards, andrew
Sorry Andrew
nice

Понять не могу, кто к таким видео дизлайки ставит?
How did I get here from funny crossing gate failures?
