Not only was it an organization but it was basically a Religion. I wouldn’t call it a cult because Lucien gives you that chance to walk away if you choose not to accept his offer. You’re apart of a loyal group and even though they take joy in Murder, you almost feel a genuine connection with them. Like they’re a family. So the Purification ritual feels so heartbreaking especially when you hear them cry out: “Why brother/sister?!” Even worse… they never see it coming…
So the Dark Brotherhood promotes family bonds and loyalty, but is willing to rid themselves of a large portion of their group at the discretion of a higher-up? Who knew they would have that in common with big tech.

My impression is that this is a typical trajectory for a Dark Brotherhood organization. They recruit from their own victimized survivors and their only real vetting procedure is to make sure that the recruits are either psychopaths or axe-crazy. Or both. Then they tell the members "You're a family now, be loyal and take good care of each other." The ensuing murderous implosions (where I as a player am so far two for two) are pretty unsurprising, actually. And the Night Mother ... she seems to be against it only in principle. I have over 3k hours in onlivion and I never knew Vicente was weakened by garlic. First time a game facts video actually showed me something I didn't already know.
I never have been nearly as creative as you were while dispatching of the other members in the order. I just snipe them one by one from a safe distance and save the Khajit until the end so I can sell as many of the items I take from the others as possible. It’s always been a fun task to me, except that there’s that one member who always seems to be away from the base and I have to travel elsewhere to hunt her down.
I doubt it personally as later Lucian rips you a new one for doing similar when you are his silencer. This was clearly sanctioned by the night mother as you don't get a visit from the Wraith of Sithis for violating the tenets. Why you don't later is because you are acting under orders of a black hand member.

Why did the "Gray Fox" want Hieronymous Lex reassigned to Anvil? The end of the questline makes me wonder. Is he a friend or just a respected adversary of Corvus Umbranox?
To protect his wife
@@vexile1239Wait that actually makes too much sense, two birds with one stone
I think I've used the tree stump entrance every time
wait i think you accidentally reused Marie Antoinetta's portrait for the Orc but very good still ove all
I don't know if this has been raised yet but for Gogran's section the introducing graphic is for Antoinette not him :)
My heart broke when I first time I did this quest when M'raaj actually stopped being a jerk right before needing to off him.
Execute Order 66.
ngl you make me wanna play oblivion again
This quest broke my ❤️ 😢
Bro you narrate this better then VET Tv. dd Marines in their natural habitat....lolz
so much dry witted Comedic gold
I have over 3k hours in onlivion and I never knew Vicente was weakened by garlic. First time a game facts video actually showed me something I didn't already know.
I never have been nearly as creative as you were while dispatching of the other members in the order. I just snipe them one by one from a safe distance and save the Khajit until the end so I can sell as many of the items I take from the others as possible. It’s always been a fun task to me, except that there’s that one member who always seems to be away from the base and I have to travel elsewhere to hunt her down.
Given what happens in the next questline I wonder if the Lucian that gave us this quest was an imposter or not.
I doubt it personally as later Lucian rips you a new one for doing similar when you are his silencer. This was clearly sanctioned by the night mother as you don't get a visit from the Wraith of Sithis for violating the tenets. Why you don't later is because you are acting under orders of a black hand member.
I remember first getting this quest I was like seriously. Dark brotherhood quests are the best
1:41 after doing the guild a few times, I've just realised the stupidity of the last line! lol
If this quest didn't break your heart after its completion you're a better assassin than I
A Assassin among assassins who would’ve e guessed
When you go to the section for Gogrun, Antoinette Marie’s title card appears instead of his.
Ah shit. Thank you!
@@DarkLOREDash No problem citizen. Keep an eye out I heard there are commie spies- I mean, dark brotherhood assassins in these parts.
Hardly counts as evil to kill a bunch of Assassins tbh
It's all subjective
The Vampire Afflicted by Garlic made me Laugh 😂😂😂
Every time I play this quest, it causes emotional harm. I know it’s just a game and the NPCs aren’t real, but it still hurts.
now this, is epic
Night mother have mercy!!!!
It's funny how they beg to the God of death to spare them 🤣
34:48 whoo!
I never liked the "purification" quest for the Dark Brotherhood, it has you killing off chars i really did come to like and are replaced with kinda boring ones.
Agree. Fun in theory
If your coworkers had a low disposition towards you before, its about to get a lot lower.....
Congrats on catching the traitor! Who would have thought the Dark Brotherhood questline would end so soon? Gogron and his battle axe of deception, however, couldn't fool you. Now, it's time to retire, and maybe settle down on a farm to hang with your good old pal Lucien.
good job Dash
Thank ye kindly, Asone 😁
This quest is the only one that hit me in my feels basically to sum it up is the do men even have feelings meme with this in , that's how I feel
I always use the “resurrect” console command on the family members I like after killing all of them in this quest
It upsets me every time to have to kill Ocheeva and Teinaava. With me being argonian, they had 100 disposition to me the second i walked in, and were constantly incredibly nice to me
I defiantly ruined this quest for myself by duplicating hundreds of poison apple's. I can't even remember how that worked out for me.
I actually hate this one. I know it’s technically just a game but I feel invested in the dark brotherhood family more than any other guild. Lol I think it’s time I get a life 😂
OR double down on the Oblivion love. I'm here to chat 😏😅
Oblivion has been my favourite game since I was like 13 so I think I’m way past the point of getting a life now anyway 😂
But honestly, your content makes your channel my favourite by far, I look forward to your videos more than I care to admit ❤️😅
The most painful quest in all of oblivion
It's just dumb that hand member wouldn't know paralyze or invisibility then start conversation with Lucien's silencer. Lucien is so sneaky he finds you after one murder... The rest of the hand can't stop you and talk to you in the same room?
Wolf Queen Potema approved™️
Do this for every quest of every game, I don’t have time or energy to play games anymore
Thats why I make these 😁
Pulling a CQ shift and this pops up yessir thank you muchly
Whos the skeleton guy walking around in some of the scenes?
This is good stuff
