This is the actual recording of the song. There was no auto tune then. When they sing this without instruments they sound exactly the same. They donated everything from this to a children's charity called Unicef. This was in the 70's and it was amazing to live through.

Thanks for your reaction! The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html.

They don't usually have an orchestra, but it was provided because this night was a charity event for UNICEF. Many bands sang and played and donated whatever they wanted to from the royalties. The Bee Gees gave this song's royalties completely to the charity forever.
Also , this was in 1978 during their "Disco" years, with songs like "Staying Alive". But they have been making music since the 60's and have many more songs you should hear like , "Alone", which is from the 90's, after the disco era.

Their producer wanted a screem for their song Nights on broadway. Barry tried and his falsetto voice was born, He said in an interview that he was astonished by himself what there was coming from his mouth. He has a great vocal range, deep and strong, but also smooth, with vibrato and of course a perfect falsetto. He he uses it depending on the type of song they sing!

Thanks for this reaction. People don't understand it when I tell them how much I miss the 70's. Music like this was literally everywhere at the time. Songs were written like a personal love letter between two people- not like today when love songs are all about selfishness. There was a fun vibe to the whole decade that you had to experience to understand.
I think the best thing about the 70's was the fact that the 80's were just around the corner... :)

The Bee Gees have about a thousand songs that they wrote. During the mid- to late- 70s they often sang in falsetto, but most of their songs are in natural voice and their natural voices are at least as beautiful and often even more so. You can hardly go wrong with any of their songs. "Nights On Broadway" starts with Barry's deep chest voice "To Love Somebody" is also great and features natural voices. "I Started a Joke" features Robin's voice.

Falsetto-voices of them. No others can compare at all. But only used under 10 % of their roundabout 1100 songs. To check out their chestvoices, go to songs like 'Words' (Barry), 'And The Sun Will Shine' (Robin) and 'On Time' (Maurice). Harmony-singin' in natural voices at it's best is to hear on 'Lonely Days' and 'Paradise'.

You made a very good point mentioning Bohemian Rhapsody. This track included 27 vocal tracks: Barry on falsetto lead 3 times, falsetto high harmony 3 times, and falsetto low harmony 3 times; Barry on natural voice lead 3 times, high harmony 3 times, and low harmony 3 times; Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead 3 times, It would be impossible for three singers to come off sounding like this without multiple tracks. I love this song and am in no way criticizing it. I love the result regardless of how they got there.

The amazing thing is: if you are going to record 27 vocal tracks - many of them unison parts, the pitch and timing had better be damn near perfect or, as in the case of these guys, absolutely perfect. If you want to know how perfect, listen to the last notes of the "waiting in line" and "harder to climb" lines. Their voices are not only pitch perfect, but their three vibratos pulse exactly in time with each other - not an easy thing to do. Particularly when the rhythm of the pulse is actually slowing down the longer the note is held. I'm a firm believer that you have to be siblings to sing this well together: Everly Bros., Beach Boys, Rankins etc. It is so unbelievably hard to do.

Thanx for your perception of their chamber they’re recording in. Also there are 3 guys surrounding one mic. I’m not sure but when Barry the soloist in the middle drops out I believe I still hear three part harmony a man’s high tenor a man’s lead and a man’s alto. I don’t know if I have the right inversion of the chords being sung. But they would have to govern when Barry’s voice was to be heard in the background and when he was singing with them in harmony. And besides that I may not have all the layering of vocals in the background that made them so full. A long time ago sound with sound was used in recording in studios. Then a country and western couple put there background vocals coming out of an amp turned on but the man from a switch on his guitar. That was the first live voices with voices, Then The Carpenters sister on the drums and singing and brother on the piano singing and the layered background vocals out the pa all of it mixed with harmony. But somewhere back then Phil specter messed with background vocals layering a lot of vocals and it was called the wall of sound. To me if the did have backup it was softer than the live vocals. All three of these guys were composers producers, sound engineers, musicians playing a variety of instruments. This recording was done earlier in history before Cher who used it first in her song Believe or her producer gave her the choice to keep it or take it off. But the marvel of The Bee Gees and all those instruments is they did not know music written on sheet music by notes. They knew music by ear. Many of the studio musicians and rock singers had a numbering system used to write the music buy ear.. 1 would be the tonic 1 would also be 4 beats if the song was 4/4 1 would also be the chord the notations or letters would be use like “m” for minor. Doing this number system if a key change was made the new key would be written but the numbers would be the same as the tonic would still be 1 the first position in the new key. When the first probe went on it’s mission out of the solar system music was put in it so if anybody found it music would be heard. Science got it out there but us I tagged along. The Bee Gees did all of that song with a ear for music and no sheet music.

Can you understand what it means about "To Much Heaven"... We basically don't get as much love as we used to. They most used the falsetto sound from 1975 to 1979. In 1975 they were making the album "Main Course" (Great album) and on this there is a song called "Nights On broadway". Their producer Arif Mardin asked if one of them could scream in tune and Barry said "I will give it a go" and this was the first time they found out they could sing like that. On the same album is a song called "Fanny (Be Tender With My Love), and on this they really play with the falsetto in the end.
But before, from 1958 to 1974 and after from 1980 to 2001 they mostly used their normal voices.
This song is from 1978 and was given to the fundraising concert "Music for Unicef: A Gift of Song" for the children of the world. This concert was initiated by The Bee Gees and the song has up til now raised more than 10M dollars to the cause. ABBA, Rod Stewart, Earth Wind & Fire, Olivia Newton John, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson and their little brother Andy Gibb was also part of this concert.
Some artist gave the earnings for certain periode of time but The Bee Gees has given all earnings from the sung to the cause.
The song can be found on their follow up album to "Saturday Night Fever" called "Spirits Having Flown" and this album only consists of Falsetto songs except the last song "Until" which is song by Barry close to his normal voice.
As the last surviving Bee Gee Barry is still making music and his album "Greenfields" from 2021 reach number 1 at UK album charts.

Barry is a very manly looking man, so it's easy to assume he had a very deep voice, but Maurice (the one on the right) had the deepest voice in the group. Barry's speaking voice was sort of mid-range, and smokey. But he actually had three singing voices, at least. this high falsetto, a smokey, mellow soft chest voice, and a very gravelly, meaty, almost rock and roll voice. Check out Nights on Broadway, Wind of Change, and Words to get a better taste of all that Barry could do.

Bohemian Rhapsody was a famous composition by Queen not the Bee Gees. Yes they are all brothers. They all have unique and excellent voices. They are one of Gods gifts to mankind!! Barry is the only one still living!

The Bee Gees didn't always sing falsetto on their songs of which there are hundreds as well as having hits in every decade from the 60s forward they have also written for mega stars such as Barbara Striesand , Celine Dion ,Dolly Parton, Diana Ross. ECT . The lyrics of their songs are considered by a lot of their fans to be pure poetry to which I agree . I suggest you check out their hits from the 60s and move forward , you can't go wrong . You mentioned that your into Rock , might I suggest youlook into the American family band LILIAC a group of brothers and sisters who are taking the world by storm , you would be doing yourself and your subscribers a favour by reacting to them . New subscriber here .

How can any straight woman look at Barry, and not swoon? Barry (middle) oozes sex appeal. The Bee Gees aka Brother's Gibb.
All real brothers: The brothers on the end are twins. L to R Robin, Barry, and Maurice.
They sing perfect harmony together, yet, all stand out. That's a lot of singing together, which they've done since they were children.
I Love the Bee Gees, this being my favorite song by them. When Barry, says, "Oh, you and me, girl."
    OMG! 🤸‍♀️
    [Swoon] lol

The Bee Gees is one of the greatest singing group ever. They are brothers from Australia that became famous all over the world. Sorry but I tried to find out where the two of you from because usually many youtubers are from America but I observe that you two have accents that are European (non-English native speakers); I tried to find out where the name Celca originally from (google) but it is a generic female name and I saw what the guy is drinking, Amper Energy drink which is manufactured from Poland. So, I assume you two are Polish. Correct me if I am wrong. I am not stalking or anything. I am not a danger for the both of you but I am a new subscriber from the Philippines practicing my investigative skills everywhere I could. Plus I have been to Warsaw, Poland for more than 2 weeks and I love the place. More power for the two of you and good luck.
