🤔….I don’t believe that Yes is religious. Yes is more about higher thought, ascension…relating to a higher power. Jon as spent his life learning about Many forms of religion -but will not limit himself to one belief. Rick is a Christian and openly admits it. This is one of Yes’s longest most epic songs. Well I have about 6,000 albums and I have hundreds of “the best” songs, but I put them in different tiers. There is NO real best. My top tier of songs has hundreds of songs on it. They rocked this song hard in the beginning, but even later they took it back to its acoustic roots and I really loved that. 🙂

I prefer the studio recording this version takes away the real strength of the song from start finish

Instead of calling this a religious song, I think it would be more accurately called spiritual. It is not referring to a particular religion or God, but the natural or cosmic energy shared by everyone. It's certainly appropriate to apply it to whatever beliefs you have and just accept the joy put into it.

You were wondering what Neil did after the tragedies, he still had his wife for many months after the loss of their daughter and relied on each other to cope with it all. Just when they were starting to move forward with life, his wife had some pains and went to a doctor, she totally unexpectedly found out she had cancer, a total shock as up to then she had felt fine. She died shortly after that which also came as a surprise shock to Neil, expecting at least months or a couple years with her and a chance to fight the cancer off. After Neil's tragedies and the band stopping (they never broke up) to give Neil time to mourn and decide later what to do about Rush, Neil mostly road his motorcycle around North America reflecting on it all. He actually wrote a novel about his life journey called 'Ghost Rider.' Alex and Geddy just gave Neil his space, knowing they would be there for him if he needed, and they didn't know for several years if they would ever play together or not. But Neil finally made it through to the other side and Rush returned like an explosion around 2K1 or 2K2, he even re-married and had another daughter. The band stayed together until their last, 40th anniversary tour in 2015, after which they retired because the wear and tear on Neil's body from all those years of drumming like two drummers finally caught up with him. Several years later he was diagnosed with brain cancer and he succumbed to it and passed in 2020.

Por lo que se ve en el video, quizás el poner los platillos esos al revés era precisamente para lo que hace con ellos, y eso quizás no se puede hacer con el mismo resultado de sonido si estuviesen al revés. Quizás por el balanceo que tendrían cuando se tocan "como una campana", y si están puestos al revés pues ya no se moverían igual aun golpeándolos parecido, porque siempre sería un movimiento resultante de equilibrio entre el golpe recibido y la gravedad. De mientras, el balanceo hasta volver a quedarse en el punto de equilibrio. Creo que en realidad todo es cuestión de frecuencias (como no puede ser siempre al menos) si hablamos sobre sonido audible. Luego, creo que hay cosas que pueden estar en otras explicaciones. Por ejemplo, lo que le hace sentir cierta música a algunos. Pues eso no creo que sea tanto sobre "frecuencias" solamente. Es algo mucho más complicado. Es como si quisieras explicar con palabras o ponerle números matemáticos a la explicación de "enamorarse de alguien". No se pudo nunca ni se esperaría por nadie... pero son cosas que van unas unidas a las otras, como siempre... La música creo que es algo un tanto curioso. My manager FREAKED out when he heard me playing original version while working ! This was a few years ago and he said he just saw Gary Numan live and was surprised i knew this song. He is a big music fan, told me that this is totally underground type music, he heard the newer version. I enjoy both versions, have original on vinyl! ❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

These guys were just so incredibly awesome. I am so fortunate to have grown up in that era and blessed to have seen them in concert some 18 times. I have been blessed. RIP Neil Peart, we miss you!

This is my favorite live performance of this song: Geddy's vocal at the beginning is beautiful and haunting, along with Alex's chords; the musicianship is amazing overall, and the lyrics are deep, as usual. I also like how they pushed the tempo here (they did a live performance of this song later on in their career, but the tempo was noticeably slower, which is why I prefer this version).

If you get a chance, check out the studio version of this song. You get an extra verse and more importantly, an extra guitar solo.
