Angelina started singing in her crib at 18 months. In the earliest videos of her public performances from 6-12, she always wore white dresses. You were right when you thought the young girls (2 cousins & little sister) represent her journey to adulthood as a singer. I recommend if you want to start at the beginning, react to a single video of all 4 performances at Norway's Got Talent. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" The video of Bohemian Rhapsody attrackted north of 100 million views reaching a truly global audience. Copies on other channels didnt even get a fraction of it. She subsequently doubled her subscriber count on YT in just one year. Her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. Welcome to Angelina's world! I will try to answer some of your questions. First, she was born on January 10, 2006 in Oslo. Her grandmother, a very strong influence in Angie's life, is Persian and late grandfather from Japan. So, Angie's Mom and Uncle grew up in Japan. It is said that Angelina's father is Swedish, but he is no longer in the picture. Her grandmother is a well-known artist and poet - she has the artistic talents. She used to play jazz while Angie was growing up and it stuck. By 6 years old Angelina was attending an after-school music school, learning about music theory, composition, piano, guitar, flute and violin (but we have never heard her play the latter two). She may have had some very basic voice training, but as she progressed, no teacher would try to change her amazing voice. After bursting on to the public scene in Norway's Got Talent, which she auditioned for at age 7, she wowed the judges and audience and won NGT at age 8 with over 40% of all the votes. Angelina always (when allowed) performs without shoes. When she lived in Iran for a while at age 6, she met a young girl on the street making a few cents by weighing folks on a bathroom scale. She was impoverished and bare-footed. After talking to her for a while (probably in Farsi), because the girl's feet were bare and sore, Angie gave her her shoes and vowed to not wear shoes while performing until all the children in the world had them. At age 9, Angie wrote a book about that encounter and her grandmother, Mery, illustrated the book. Angie became the youngest published author in Norway. The book is available in PDF in Angelina's merch store on her main web site, and I have a copy. At NGT, Angie won 500,000 Krone, about $80,000 at that time. She donated almost all of it to various charities. I think she kept some of it and funded a few recording sessions with bands when she was 8 years old. After NGT, Angelina went on to performing at countless charity events, particularly those that benefitted children. A few times she has performed in private and corporate events. Angelina's full name is Angelina Jordan Astar (!). And, your are right, that is not typical Norwegian. Angie assumed the Jordan name for performing when she was 7... Angelina is at her best in live concerts, but she has a huge library of covers, mostly done with just a guitarist in her home or a small studio. She has written and released about 20 originals, the last ones just stunning. And, she says she has about 100, "in the backlog." Many are from her diary, which she write in every day since she was about 5 years old! Even deciding to include the 'Bee Hive' hairstyle that the wife of Elvis was known for back in the day, just fits the time when Elvis was the reigning 'King' so beautifully. In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield"). Angelina grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. The girls are her two young cousins and older is her sister. For sure, you must to check the young Angelina. There are a lot examples, everyone are amazing, but the 4 Norway got talent performances, and "I put a spell on you" (black and white video at 9 yo), are almost mandatory 🙂.

Angelina started singing in her crib at 18 months. In the earliest videos of her public performances from 6-12, she always wore white dresses. You were right when you thought the young girls (2 cousins & little sister) represent her journey to adulthood as a singer. I recommend if you want to start at the beginning, react to a single video of all 4 performances at Norway's Got Talent. It doesn't have the judges comments, but it is short enough to do in a single reaction & she has 100's of videos to watch. She was 7 for the 1st one, then she turned 8 for the last 3 & the growth is amazing over the 6 months of the competition. I liked & subscribed for more Angelina reactions, she is my favorite artist of my lifetime.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Mery married a Japanese man and Angelina's mother and uncle were born in Japan.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.

She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a TH-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On TH-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. On May 16, 2024, the first fruits of Angelina's cooperation with Tobi Gad were released. This German composer and record producer based in Los Angeles invited Angeline to an intimate concert at the Hotel Cafe JESSE & FRIENDS, the same one where Adel sang and was discovered. Tobi then took Angelina to London, where she performed His song If I Were A Boy at the London Palladium, and they recorded two versions of the song, Live At Saint James Church, and another studio version illustrated with a film from the streets of London. It seems that Tobi has started cooperation with Angelina and there are several joint songs in the pipeline. At the May concert in Los Angeles, one of them was presented: BAD VALENTINE.

But you're underestimating the effect of the visibility of the AGT channel on TH-cam. The video of Bohemian Rhapsody attrackted north of 100 million views reaching a truly global audience. Copies on other channels didnt even get a fraction of it. She subsequently doubled her subscriber count on YT in just one year.

The light on English is called a "chandelier" (which O think is originally a French word). Angelina is special. She started as a jazzy singer, but has sung songs in virtually all styles since she was 8 y.o.
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Welcome to Angelina's world! I will try to answer some of your questions.
First, she was born on January 10, 2006 in Oslo. Her grandmother, a very strong influence in Angie's life, is Persian and late grandfather from Japan. So, Angie's Mom and Uncle grew up in Japan. It is said that Angelina's father is Swedish, but he is no longer in the picture. Her grandmother is a well-known artist and poet - she has the artistic talents. She used to play jazz while Angie was growing up and it stuck. By 6 years old Angelina was attending an after-school music school, learning about music theory, composition, piano, guitar, flute and violin (but we have never heard her play the latter two). She may have had some very basic voice training, but as she progressed, no teacher would try to change her amazing voice. After bursting on to the public scene in Norway's Got Talent, which she auditioned for at age 7, she wowed the judges and audience and won NGT at age 8 with over 40% of all the votes.
Angelina always (when allowed) performs without shoes. When she lived in Iran for a while at age 6, she met a young girl on the street making a few cents by weighing folks on a bathroom scale. She was impoverished and bare-footed. After talking to her for a while (probably in Farsi), because the girl's feet were bare and sore, Angie gave her her shoes and vowed to not wear shoes while performing until all the children in the world had them. At age 9, Angie wrote a book about that encounter and her grandmother, Mery, illustrated the book. Angie became the youngest published author in Norway. The book is available in PDF in Angelina's merch store on her main web site, and I have a copy.
At NGT, Angie won 500,000 Krone, about $80,000 at that time. She donated almost all of it to various charities. I think she kept some of it and funded a few recording sessions with bands when she was 8 years old.
After NGT, Angelina went on to performing at countless charity events, particularly those that benefitted children. A few times she has performed in private and corporate events.
Angelina's full name is Angelina Jordan Astar (!). And, your are right, that is not typical Norwegian. Angie assumed the Jordan name for performing when she was 7...
Angelina is at her best in live concerts, but she has a huge library of covers, mostly done with just a guitarist in her home or a small studio. She has written and released about 20 originals, the last ones just stunning. And, she says she has about 100, "in the backlog." Many are from her diary, which she write in every day since she was about 5 years old! Age 7/8: Norways Got Talent.
She asked to go on the show at age 5 but had to wait until she was 7. You could do her performances individually with judges comments, or react to the all in one video without judges comments. She selected the songs and contributed to the arrangements. I believe she is the youngest person ever to have won this level of talent show as a singer.

Age 13: Bohemian Rhapsody
AGT Champions: She got high praise, a golden buzzer and Queen gave her the copyright to her version of the song. Her manager, her uncle Mike, refused to sign a contract for her AGT appearances that included her having to sign up with Simon's record label, so the video that includes her receiving the golden buzzer was taken down and is much harder to find.
She eventually signed with Republic Records at the age of 14 as the studio showed a lot of respect for her talent and her family's concern for her young age. They gave her her own studio with part of the contract reportedly being that they were not allowed to promote her as they would other new artists until she was older, perhaps 18.

Age 17: Unchained Melody.at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert:
Here she is this past December singing Unchained Melody. At age 5 she told her Mom she wanted to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert and sang What A Wonderful World at the children's concert at age 8. She is the only child singer asked to perform more than once at this prestigious annual event held in her hometown of Oslo, Norway. She has played with the KORK Orchestra many times over the years. Here she honours the recipient, an Iranian woman and female rights activist who is jailed in Iran The woman's two children are sitting right in front of her as she performs - especially meaningful to Angelina to have the honour of performing as her grandmother is Persian.

Warning, this is bigger then you think! She changes people! She will make you feel so, be ready & I would reccomend "I put a spell on you" black and white version at age 9. Any of her 200 or so performances are great but 30 of them will blow your mind! Good luck and here come the comments!!

Angelina grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. She can sing any song and any genre.
She is absolutely fearless in choice of covers. No artist is too big and no song too daunting. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. Angelina arranges, at least in part, if not in total, total control of all her performances. She has since she was 7-8 yrs old. She knows what she wants and gets exactly what she wants out of the artists and musicians she works with, many of them who are some of the most accomplished in the industry.
Angelina has the most beautiful deep voice which is always in tune and quite often in her lower register. I believe she is a Contralto which is rare for a girl especially at this age. You will soon realize she is always Pitch Perfect and always performs at a Master Class level. Her voice was powerful and beautiful at 8 yrs old and today at 16 it is phenomenal! Enjoy the ride. For sure, you must to check the young Angelina. There are a lot examples, everyone are amazing, but the 4 Norway got talent performances, and "I put a spell on you" (black and white video at 9 yo), are almost mandatory 🙂.
