Just a small tip for dispensers: The list order shows the frequency of the devices dropped e.g if the first one is a wing then you will mainly get wings
So how does the item type or number of items affect what you get, or does it? I assumed using a different mix gave different results, especially since they equate the input device with a cooking pot.
A note about Lights - Lights consume power, brightbloom seeds don't, just toss a brightbloom seed on your vehicle instead for free 360 lighting, just be aware of that fact that the impact from the toss will activate your vehicle so prepared to grab the steering stick. Personally I'd say it's worth using your big brightbloom seeds here as the light up a huga area around your vehicle and that's very handy if you're going fast. Sidenote, if you're using wings in the depths toss the the seed on your steering stick or a fan and not directly on the wing, when the wing starts to expire, land, remove the wing, take out a new one and rebuild. The brightbloom will remain on the part it's attached to so a single big brightbloom seed is enough to cover your entire excursion.
Another benefit to adding brightbloom to your builds is, after you attach one to your build, you will be able to move away further from it without it despawning.
Lights don't consume very much power at all though. With my two aircraft builds that I use most, the bird of prey, and the Scorpion, using a light enables almost immediate perfect placement of all the parts with the best angle possible. I can take either of my aircraft and fly from one corner of the sky to the other corner and never use more than three battery. Because, my designs let you self charge the device while you're flying. To make it even better, I rarely use any of my own devices because everything necessary is easily found almost everywhere on the map. That includes fans, steering sticks, and lights.
By the time you’re building the hoverbike (late midgame), you’ll have tons of brightbloom and giant brightbloom. Definitely spring for the giant brightbloom seeds on your hoverbike in the depths. Once you get adept at controlling it you can hop from lightroot to lightroot and activate most of the depths in about 4-5 hours.
The only thing about lights that one-up brightblooms is that they're solid. if you have an off-balance vehicle, the light device will partially hold it up
•Tip 1 Wings float and the water is a great to take off from •Tip 2 If you put a fan on both sides of the wings tail they will gradually gain altitude without you having to pull back on the controller stick •HELPFUL HINT The fan needs to be attached at the middle to the side of the tail for it to work properly
That’s super good to know, I’d have expected the opposite and the fans shut down in the water or are just trash. Edit: I tried it and honestly I’m not sure, its definitely not fucked up or slower but I’m on the fence about whether it’s truly faster. I might do a full blown test and and come back with another edit about the speed
For anyone exploring the depths, take down the Yiga hideouts. They get you some cool autobuilds that dont yake up space on your favorites and some are really good
it doesnt necessarily flatten the object..just put it back into the position it was originally picked up in..if it was an item you picked up. So if you pick something up that is all sideways or on a hill..its not a very helpful button.
Not sure if someone has said this already, but that two-fans-one-steeringstick build can hold koroks on the front, as well as you can place giant brightbloom seeds for easy exploration in the depths :) (reg/giant brightbloom seeds dont add weight or consume battery)
I tried this after seeing it in another video, but it somehow didn't work for me. I guess it was about the finicky specificity like he mentions, I must have gotten the angle off or something, but I'd really like a hoverbike. :(
Okay the Unicycle was a stroke of genius. I had figured out a bunch of cool builds, but never used the small wheel cause I viewed as unreliable. Now the uni is my horse replacement.
I found out if you use 2 additional small wheels attached to the rear corners of the first one, and then put the steering stick between those those 2 wheels and ditch the stabiliser, you get a machine that handles very similarly to the unicycle, that can also tackle any hill Link himself can run up. It's become my new favourite vehicle, above even the airbike.
@@Syrahl696 how about ditching the third wheel in the back then as well? that is what I did, just put my steering stick between two small wheels, its so much easier to steer
@Benjamin Swiezy I find if you do that, there's nothing stopping the 2 wheels from pitching either forward or backwards, which causes the housing to catch on the ground. Which is fine on relatively flat ground, but in comparison the 3-wheeled version can handle pretty rough terrain just fine, which IMO is well worth the 3 extra zonaite.
When we needed him most, Austin appeared. Thanks for all this amazing content, from when you helped us 6 years ago for breath of the wild, to now when you help us with tears of the kingdom!
The cannon shield for mining/rock-breaking is a game changer. I've overlooked some of these solutions because they're so simple (and just the sheer number of ways to accomplish things in this game is overwhelming), so thank you for bringing them to light!
I'd actually say a cannon *spear* is a better option. It fires once for each thrust (if you're spamming Y at least; it only fires once for a charge attack) but you can also aim it using R, and the cannon will fire without you throwing the spear when you release R. Just be aware that the projectile drops like a stone for some reason, more than you might expect.
20:26 For rocket shield, you can get unlimited supply of rockets at Oromuwak Shrine which is at the entrance to Rito Village (the rockets are supplied at the entrance of the shrine). Just bring all the un-fused shields and fuse each one with rocket. I believe the supply remain even after you complete the shrine. So you can refill whenever you want.
There are a few shrines with infinite respawning rockets, plus multiple places to pick them up in the world. I'm not sure why anyone's "go to" area to get them would be a gacha machine?!
There's a section of the Goron Dungeon with infinite rockets too - I think it's the 3rd level. There's a one-time construct behind a table, but then after you defeat him you can do what you want with the rockets and stuff on the wall. When you take a rocket, it respawns instantly - I love it..
@@Wendy_O._Koopabecause if you want them on anything other than a shield you’re gonna have to go to tarrey town to unfuse em. Where a rocket dispenser is
@@pormpfspimperton6804 OP did specify that this was about Rocket Shields though? Also Austin... John... -which one is his first name?- anyhow, he also says that this is specifically for Rocket Shields... like right before the time stamp, where you're most liable to miss it. If you need rockets for other builds, then by all means, use the dispenser at Tarrey Town, or the place he suggests, that's what they're for. I just wouldn't use my own to "reload" my shield unless it was an emergency, when I can load up however many shields I have for free at several shrines.
I love trying to find minimalist designs and have spent hours building or looking around world for cool stuff to pimp ride and find new fuse interactions to open up system mechanics. It’s so much more fun and deeper than I imagined. That being said, after building so much there are a lot of things I hope they will improve on in future. Between manually having to drop stuff for AUTO build despite being automatic for inventory monster parts, no real snap/mirror functions, the exploding glass parts wasting resources for every slight mistake, the brutal 8 favorite slots making you choose between saving unique parts or having to manually angle and rebuild stuff from scratch, meanwhile Link controls time and space but can’t keep something still for 2 seconds without welding it to something AND THEN HAVING TO LITERALLY SHAKE IT OFF TO UNDO YOUR 46.5 DEGREE ANGLE MISTAKE THAT SENDS YOU FULL SPREAD EAGLE INTO DIRT. I love love the extra challenge and added depth to exploring with all the unique items from world and a single power button is actually really rewarding and makes you think but some decisions like the manual inventory and limited favorites list seem like it just punishes exploring system. So frustrating when you LOVE something and want to just explore every part of it just to have mechanics tell you “go farm tho” after you spent 200 shiny glass rocks trying to fix a slight drift on the Boo-Gatti 9000. Seems like a lot of opportunities for people to get frustrated and decide building isn’t for them. Still a 10/10 tho, I wasn’t even interested in building originally but the game really makes you FEEL like legendary hero, Bob the Builder.
idk if someone has already said this, but with the sage spirits, if you wear the corresponding divine beast mask the spirit will wear a mask too. for example, if you have the vow of tulin equipped and wear the vah medoh divine helm, tulin will wear a mask too. this was something i found while messing around in TOTK
hmmm... interesting. I heard somewhere that they "enhance" your bond with the sage, but I haven't worn the masks at all and wouldn't really be able to tell. I'm guessing what that means is that they just appear to wear them, as you've said... but perhaps there's more to learn here.
Zonai carts are just big enough to stick 4 Big Wheels on. They're fireproof and small, so you don't need to choose between those two ATV options. And you can use a cart capsule instead of Zonite.
Pro tip I’m not sure how austin missed, the device dispenser in terry town (like right next to where he built everything) not only has rockets but just about everything else used in these auto builds it’s WAY more useful to go there for parts
To anyone that needs this info: I just found a Royal Broadsword, in the depths under Eventide Island. You can get it with ATTACK+10. And it's the regular version, not the "decayed" one. Thanks for reading, hope it helps you.
@@YTLifeBeats TBH, I just cleared 2/4 temples so far. But I have killed over 15 lynels, white bokoblins/moblins/lizalfos/horriblins, etc. Maybe that's why.
@@SLight731 ok, I have been farming silver of all enemies since launch, but i think my issue is that i never picked those pristine weapons up cause they were all traveler weapons, just went through a ez farm of about 15 weapons and picked them up so they can come back as better after blood moon( hopefully )
the yiga clan actually have a schematic for a "super spring" speaking of, it's 3 springs and a stake, keeps it from moving and you can make it level by letting go of it before the spring itself touches the ground
The stake seems to get really over looked by people. It’s actually a really useful piece since it’s the only way you can join one piece to two or more pieces simultaneously
@@mkv2718 it gets overlooked because it’s really only necessary for more advanced/nuanced concepts. I think as people play more they will use them more
How is it "the only way you can join one piece to two or more pieces simultaneously"? You can stick multiple things to one thing already, I'm not sure what the limit is, but it seems to be quite a lot. The stake is for sticking things to the ground... or a wall.
@@Wendy_O._Koopa If I want to build, say, a triangle, I can attach Side A to Side B, Side B to Side C, and then Side C is already part of the structure and can't be attached to side A. For structures, eh, whatever, the joints are very rigid already. But if, for example, I want a spring to join two parts of a structure to spread out a mechanism, I either can't attach the spring to both parts, or I can't make the main body one piece, and the spring will just push everything apart rather than open something up. I wouldn't say anything that needs that is a terribly practical device, at least not for the effort put in, but making, say, a bird sculpture that flaps its wings, or a stable paddle boat, or a stationary artillery with adjustable firing angle are all made possible by clever use of stakes.
So I dunno if someone has already mentioned this, but sleds do indeed float. You need to continuously hold back on the left stick to prevent them from nosediving in deeper water. The small board is faster and works better in water, but doesn't go anywhere on land.
If you do two pieces of lumber on top of each other like two layers the craft is far more buoyant and doesn’t have water coming up the sides. Very useful for fishing out chests or taking tighter curves because the water drag is what’s holding link into the curve. It does require more lumber but normally you can find stacks of it just about everywhere.
The best balloon is using the balloon platform and a balloon. Put a piece of firewood in the balloon with Ultrahand (turn it at a 45 degree angle) and light it with a fire sword. 6 Zonai in Autobuild, and your platform won't catch on fire. I'm going to try saving one with the wood in place to see if that works.
Another substitute for Rocket Shields is fusing any bomb to your shield. I recommend the time bomb, since they don't have that many uses. It doesn't damage your shield either! It doesn't give the same height as 2 springs, but it does give some good height.
I'll definitely be using that Hoverbike build in my continued exploration of the Depths, especially since most of those small Zonai Device outposts all around the Depths usually have at least two fans and a control stick
The Rocket Stone you mentioned at 22:06 is one of the Schema Stone ones - which you get at the end of a side adventure involving the Yiga. So you dont need to fave that one.
If you don’t mind the slightly bigger cost I recommend the trike land vehicle. Two small wheels on the sides of the controller and one in the back. I find the turning performance is better and it always stands upright.
I came up with the same vehicle on my own, except I had the 3rd wheel in the front instead of the back. After testing the variation you mentioned, honestly, there's no real difference I could argue, it's basically just a matter of aesthetics and taste, and obviously I'm biased to the version I made on my own. But you are right, I would take either design over the unicycle. The biggest selling point is its ability to handle hills - I find the trike is able to drive up any surface Link could run on, and it's much faster than Link, a horse, or the ATV from this video.
A spring auto build is super OP in most mini boss fights. Surprised you didn’t mention that. If you place a spring launcher on the battlefield before a Frox, Flux Construct, Gleeok, etc. fight then it’s way way easier. And makes for a fun version of the fight.
Alright, because Austin saw Dinraal come from the chasm, I'd like to point out that I also saw Farosh in the depths. So, if you wanna farm their horns and scales, you probably need to find where they spawn in the depths.
All 3 of the original dragons fly a constant circuit through the skies, down a chasm, through the Depths, and back up another chasm to their sky route. If you can't see them in the skies, they're currently flying through the chasms/Depths :) Edit to add: If you want to farm stuff for weapons, just sit on the dragon you want and ride it (You can cling to them when they dive down a chasm/come back up one so you don't fall off) If their horns/spikes are glowing, you can get a scale/claw/horn/fang from them, they go dull once you gather one and it goes on aprox a 10 minute cooldown. Simply wait for them to start glowing again, and grab another. If you're getting scales/horns, just poke the dragon's body/horns with a weapon and it spawns right in front of you to grab. If you want fangs, you need to hit the underside of their nose with an arrow, and same thing for claws just shoot the feet with bow. Fun fact, if you dive after the claw/fang you can loot it midair before it reaches the ground :D
@@tesladrew2608 You need to get right on top of the light as it falls. The item only appears if you get yourself inside the falling light. I used to think it had to reach the ground also, until one time I was diving after a fang I got myself close enough to it :)
@@AlaiaSkyhawk Not actually required. The item spawns on impact, but impact disables the tracking light. They still exist, but they're physics objects so gravity will displace them from any angled surfaces, making them even more difficult to locate.
10:20 actually, if you hold back on the stick, it will indeed go over water, tho not as efficiently as a build made specifically for water. If you want something bigger, the Stone Glider also works as a boat, and i used one to ferry a korok to Eventide.
14:28 The reason you constantly have to hold back is because the angle at which you attached the controller. That first configuration is much easier to build and probably the best compact flying machine I’ve found For anyone interested on how to build it properly: - lay one fan flat and rest the other against it at an angle (may take a few tries) - lay the controller flat and then attach the side of the controller to the angled fan -after lay fan attached to the controller flat and attach the other fan to the other side - Make sure both fans are straight across from one another -then you hop on and just hold forward as if you were walking and you’ll maintain a good height, if you need to go up lean back a bit Hope this helps, it is much easier to build than the hover bike
I know there are some who might prefer having a horse, just so you guys know you are able to upgrade your horse stats and make it 5 star anything once you find the horse god in Akkala. Cheers!
Quick note on upgrading horses: improving one of their stats from 4 stars to 5 is actually more expensive than improving the same stat all the way from 1 star to 4. For a not-so-quick follow-up tip, if you want a fully upgraded horse that basically handles like the Satori in BotW, all while spending as little time and resources as possible, I strongly recommend starting off one of the two horses in the game that have two 5-star stats from the get-go so you can spare yourself of cooking those 18 meals: * The 5/3/5/2 horse you can find in Zokassa Ridge or Bubinga Forest. * The 5/2/4/5 horse you can find in the northwest side of the Thundra Plateau, or Gogobi Shores near Lurelin Village. For convenience's sake, Bubinga Forest is the place to go given its close proximity to the Dueling Peaks Stable. The one in Thundra Plateau is easier to tame and overall cheaper to full upgrade, but the trip to either the Tabantha Bridge Stable or New Serenne Stable in order to register it is more bothersome given the distance involved and the horse's poor speed, and you can easily mistake it for a 4/3/4/2 horse that spawns in the same area. If you're stating off a clean save file and have an fairly progressed Breath of the Wild save file, there's even a better option I personally went for: import the 5/3/5 horse you can find in Upland Lindor, alongside the 5 speed horse you can find there as well while you're at it. That way you will have a speedy ride right after reaching the surface that can tow Koroks without issue in the latter, and that will allow you to take your time collecting the ingredients necessary to fully upgrade the former.
VERY interesting info about Cannons only doing 12 damage! Very good to know! Probably good against camps full of weaker Red enemies but other than that, I imagine attaching Beam Emitters to your Hover Stones for big baddies is probably more effective & with higher DPS. You also don't have as much issue w your loot getting spread everywhere and/or burnt/destroyed in the mayhem.
Canons have a knock back effect, that's why they are as good as they are, not because of base damage. The cannons essentially shoot out the same remote bombs as the actual zonai devices except they aren't timed. You can stun everything from bokos to larger things like moblins, hinox, and gleeok, but I haven't found the knock back to work on lynels
When I was making the hoverbike I attached the controller to a 4x4 slab with the back hanging off and dangled it off the edge of the material platform. I attached the fan to the back to try to use the auto center feature and, assuming it wasn’t blind luck, it worked first try. Then after removing the slab I attached the forward fan from behind so that it would build facing away from me.
You can also hold up the wing above ground with ultrahand, place it down on the ground, step on it and use recall to get back in the air and release it to fly without cards or anything.
Austin, your content is seriously some of the best no-nonsense designed content I've seen on TH-cam. Thank you so much for your hard work in helping us all have a better Zelda experience!
11:48 a 4x4 board works great for a sea vessel so long as you rotate it 45deg so your fan is at a corner and controller is centered, very stable and nimble.
I love how you can ride on the dragons in this one. It's super chill, good view, easy way to mark a bunch of shrines, gather some elementral spikes. This game has so many nice touches like that.
Here’s a tip for light, a very inexpensive way to make a makeshift light for the depths, is to attach a brightbloom seed with ultrahand to a vehicle you’re using, and hitting the seed with a weapon will activate the seed and produce a large area of light for basically free.
Ultrahand, of course! I've been tossing them at my skycycle and it always pisses me off that the "headlight" is off-center. I'd use the Zonai part, but not only do they waste battery and weigh more, they're not even as effective!
Great stuff, I just started playing totk this month and I can’t believe how creatively complexed the game play can get. There is literally no limit to how many different ways you can play this game.
Thank you very much for going over everything again! I know the pain of being muted for several hours, I did a speedrun of Dragon Quest XI with no mic (it was accepted).
Okay so if you're like me and eat a LOT of apples, then this is the thing for you: Take 2 golden apples and as many regular apples as you can, and stick them together and save it for Autobuild, then go around Satori Mountain or other places with lots of apple trees and try assembling the build, it will pick all the apples off the tree, and if it's the first time going to Satori mountain you can get over 100 apples, after doing this I have 181 apples in my inventory and I will be doing this as much as possible because I don't use meals too often Edit: I also want to include that I currently have 19 golden apples as well, so if you're farming them this is very useful. You can also do this with any material, maybe use it to collect dragon spike parts or loose Zonaite
good to mention also would be not to actually build this to avoid them being sticked together afterwards, but just canceling the build so they all drop to the ground
Hey brother, thank you so much for putting all of this together. Super helpful. I’ve been following along and trying to play as much as possible. Just wanted to pop in to say thank you and I hope you’re able to get some sleep.
for the pontoon, you can just stick 2 wooden bars that you find at nearly every construction material site on the bottom of the board, and it floats a lot better
Idk if anyone will see this but something that I found very helpful for the boat build is to have the fan hang off the bottom of the plank underwater like an actual speedboat engine. Now the plank stays perfectly afloat and you can even carry stuff like shrine stones with you
I would love to see a comparison for Shield Surfing with a Cart vs a Sled! Is the Sled really that much better for Shield Surfing? You'd think something with wheels would help on rough terrain but maybe not?
Tip: For the small boat raft. Put the fan in the center on the bottom. It becomes perfectly balanced and floats smoothly on the surface. Steering is also really tight.
@@huntingcarbonthere are guides on TH-cam. It’s not hard but time consuming, and you need to have FINISHED the wind temple, and started the Sidon/Zora quest line for the zora chestpiece
Tip: there is a quest you can get in Lurelin village that involves getting a fishing boat from Tenoko Island. You can use auto build to save a boat if you glue something to it. I made a boat with a fan, steering stick, and sail. In order to get it you have to save the village then talk to the shop keeps at Lookout Landing, one of them will go there and you can talk to him to start the quest.
Rather than torches, I'd usually go with regular wood attached upright above the flame emitter for the balloon build. Serve the same purpose like torches, and get this, apparently attached wood would not turned into campfire, but it will stay aflame for the duration of the flight. The downside however, it ascend slower, like real slow. But for early and I think late game, using regular woods will be cheaper as wood are basically available everywhere.
Dude, your quality content is appreciated. When I finally get to, my playtime is limited to 1 hour usually. it is nice to see some ideas in one place like this. Thank you.
I recently learned about the personal flying machine from a friend and while it took some getting used to, it feels like the best use of transportation especially after you get autobuild. Simply because of how flexible it can be: It only costs nine zoniate ore You can attach anything to it (korok travelers, shrine stones, etc) Can reach the dragons easier You can attach more batteries on the sides for extra energy (just needs balancing while flying) If you stick a giant brightbloom seed to the front, you can use it as light for traveling the depths And how it seems pretty cheap for materials with only two fans and a steering stick.
One I kind of stumbled upon in Death Mountain, at least anywhere with lava flows, was just putting both a hydrant and a fan (next to each other and facing the same functional direction) onto an igneous rock platform. You travel to wherever you're going with the fan, and the hydrant creates a bridge worth of platforms behind you so you can get back. Add a steer stick if you want; I found that good for ease-of-use.
4:41 I built something similar from the parts in Hateno, just below the ancient lab. Added a light for the depths. So: 4 wheels, 1 steering stick, 1 headlamp. Excellent vehicle!
It’s worth noting that the game experience is better on foot but I could see this being really helpful after you’ve completed a good portion of it. There’s just so much to pick up and explore slowly early game.
Something I like to do with the Jetplane build you have at 16:17, is that since I have a crap ton of Wings in my inventory at all times, if you land before the Wing breaks, you can pull out another Wing and re-autobuild the craft without wasting Zonai and only wasting 1 Wing. It sort of works better if you use the Jetplane with a cart attached to it, since as you said, you don't really use carts all that much and that way you wouldn't be wasting a bunch of rockets. And if you're in the Depths, you can just land at a construction site every now and then where Wings are mostly always there so when you autobuild you don't even need to waste your own Wings. Highly recommend this!
When building the flying machine with just a fans and control stick use one of the spike things as a building surface. Stick it in the ground flip the control stick over and attach it to the spike where link would stand and that will hold the stick still while trying to balance the fans. Just remember to grab the spike to shake the part off when you are done and not any of the pieces you want to keep together. I also built a 3 fan + stick setup that i can attach a korok to and it stays balanced. just attach a fan behind the control stick in with the flying machine that has the fans to links sides.
For the unicycle I like to put the stabilizer on the back up high because that way you actually have clearance and the control stick can just go on top of the small wheel. All you have to do to get on it is hold it right next to you with ultra hand and turn it upright. Then release ultra hand and mash A and you’ll get on every time.
15:50. It took me 15 to 20 minutes of work to get that built. I usually build it in the Depths, because both fans and steering sticks are extremely common. And I just recently scored the full zonaite armor, which is a BIG help. I'm now at 8 batteries, gonna have to go down there again for the second 8 batteries, which turn them from green to blue, and I personally can't stand mining zonaite that much.
12:29 I use a bit of wood instead of the torch, It can fit on the flame emitter so it sets on fire and if it's attached or on a zonai device it doesn't become a camp fire.
21:30 For my shield I use one Minecart Shield One cart shield and one Sledge shield. Everything else is a rocket shield. It is so easy to replace Rockets it's unbelievable. There are device platforms that I call auto shops in the depths. Many of these have four rockets. They are usually Nick's Delight roots. Fast travel to the light route get four rockets for your Shields save and load. Four more Rockets will immediately show up. You can do this until you have all the Rockets you need. Some of the shrines on the surface have Rockets as well. Example: Oshozan-u Shrine, just west of North Lomei Lanyrinth has one just inside the entrance of the shrine. Take one. Wait about 5 seconds and another one will respond. You can do this continuously until you filled up your entire inventory with rockets. Other places have them as well this is just my favorite one to go to.
The "personal flying machine" I have used quite a bit already, so convinent when in the underground, throw some lightblooms and it works wonder. Only downside is building it the first time like you mentioned, so many attempts it went slightly to one side, but works wonder after a bit of tweaking.
Wait, did you finally get it to stop pulling left? Since everyone has the same problem, and it's always in the same direction, I assumed it was either a programing bug, or an intentional nerf by Nintendo to make it "just not perfect" so... IDK, they just really don't like players flying, I guess?
A fun little trick with the hot air balloon I picked up from a sky island contraption was taking two rockets and attaching them on the opposing corners of the platform. It saves so much time.
easy money glitch with auto build for 1.1.2: 1- fuse a piece of meat to a sword (two should be fine) 2- use ultra hand to stick together 3- use auto build to auto build the connected meat swords and attach it to the original meat swords 4- continue auto building new meat swords until you have 21 connected (max things you can ultra hand together) 5- go to a cold enough place to freeze uncooked meat (near rito village) 6- auto build the 21 meat swords but dont auto build them 7- they should fall to the ground in about 5 seconds and you have infinite sellable meat :)
The most important thing I learned on this video is that I can shake the controller instead of the right stick!!!! How in the world was this not in the tutorial?!?!
That realization at the beginning made me go "oh no..." out loud. Thanks for all the guides you've been putting out! This was the one I was most excited for
Tip for hovercar: the game does give you a schema stone for the hovercraft which is identical plus a headlight. If you don't really mind the single extra component, then that's one autobuild favorite slot freed for whatever else. tip for balloon: the game also provides a schema stone for the balloon with the actual balloon basket thing. The balloon basket costs only 3, the same as any board. What that schema stone DOESN'T provide, is the flame source. tip for flying car: I've found that using a cart, three fans, and a steer stick is the best and most easily controlled flying thing. One fan on front that is flat down and one fan at each rear corner facing 45 degrees both out and off the ground (the back fans are like the split tip of an upside down Y ). Because the back fans are 45 degrees out / 90 degrees from eachother, any slight skew with alignment will be basically undetectable. The only real "drawback" is that vertical mobility is slow. While the 2 fan 'bike' is faster, it can be unwieldy imo. the rocket hoverstone is a late-ish game schema stone exactly as described. It is basically the last schema stone, though, so if you want it for early / mid game antics, you will need to make it yourself. I would also recommend making a "homing cart > stabilizer > construct head > cannon (or laser or other emitter of choice)" little battle buddy. I find it to be a much more reliable 'swarm buster' than anything else I've tried. Also, a homing cart>stabilizer>hydrant friend will make the sludge monster a cakewalk. I wouldn't say either is needed, but I think it's fun to watch the homing cart trying his best. What we really need is a way to recycle the hoards of extra capsules we don't need. No one needs 80+ small wheels. ... brb gotta see how many small wheels I can stack end to end...
I found a collapsible ladder in a well, as part of a quest to save some NPC or some such nonsense. Whatever, I really wanted to use it in my builds, while trying to figure out a way to get it out of the well, since the recreated "green" version disappears whenever it's unattached from anything; I decided to attach it to an apple anyhow as a "proof of concept." I'm so glad I did, because it absolutely _will _*_not_* reproduce the ladder! It appears in your autobuild thumbnail, but when you confirm, it will not make the ladder. I was going to use it as a ladder, as a hinge, I had so many plans for that thing. You should make a video about that ladder, and the top 9 other things players want added to be recognized by the autobuilder.
I built a sort of Horse Harness weapons platform. I harness it on the back of my horse. When it deploys, three springs attached to three Homing carts take it off the wheels and guide it to enemies. After the battle, I turn it off(lowering it back to the wheels), reconnect it to the horse harness, and carry on. Stacking those lasers is downright broken too. Reusing this thing like that breaks the game's difficulty in a way... A personal favorite.
Oh my God I came up with like a little cooking stand to save myself whenever I was in the deep and ran out of gloom meals or whenever I was traveling from place to place trying to find all of the towers that related to where the memory locations were and needed that extra little movement speed boost, I even added lights on because originally I made it down in the depths but it turned out really well I'll have to take a moment later and get a picture of it
If the 2x4 is a Jeep Wrangler, a sled is Suzuki Samurai and seems to be a tiny bit more maneuverable. Add a single giant brightbloom seed for light if needed or a dragon piece for range retention purposes when needed and viola with far less downside than the wood one. Metal plank works similarly too though.
Just a tip for the unicycle....if you adjust the tilt of the small wheel to mimic the unicycle the yiga clan uses, it will still stand upright just the same and since the front if the wheel sits higher it will climb large hills and inclines with faces that lift more abruptly. This tilt is a major savior. Check it out.
I've been using the same hovercraft alot, and I just wanted to add that it does actually work on water. It won't sink aslong as you push back on you're controll stick. You don't lose any momentum either.
10:22 I used the same design but with a second fan on the back of the first one and I was able to use it in the ocean. The whole thing was pretty much underwater but it still let me get over to the Labyrinth Island like that. I was even able to stop to recharge battery and get back on.
Thanks for this. I have a pro controller, and I had no idea you could shake it. that makes things easier for me as sometimes i'm terrible at analog controls
14:30 Depending on the placement of the steering control you can get different handling from the aircraft builds. I've made them that can go straight up without my having to control it and zero drift front/back, or left/right. I never use the balloon because it will self disintegrate after a rise of 300 with or without the torch. There are much better ways of air travel. I've gotten all shrines and lightroots using aircraft. And, the balloon is the worse way to go. The fanplane is second worse.
something a lot of people don’t seem to know is that you can actually drift with the small wheels, by quickly tilting your control stick diagonally down and then the OPPOSITE side of the direction you wanna go in. it’s not too consistent though
The personal flying machine is the best build for explorations, i watched it before in someone else's video for energy charges farming and it did have the recognition it deserves 😊
For the hot air balloon a bundle of wood works great too it doesn’t turn into a campfire and it burns for a long time, I’m pretty sure longer than the balloon itself lasts
Thanks Austin for the jet plane and the wing trick! Used it to reach a very very high sky island in hebra that I arrived at only to find a horrifying surprise!
Some quick points: Big batteries cost 100 to autobuild You can drop materials onto the gliding wing after your build fails, meaning you can manually assemble a new vehicle. Unfortunately you can not autobuild on a wing your riding.
Just a small tip for dispensers: The list order shows the frequency of the devices dropped e.g if the first one is a wing then you will mainly get wings
Not if you sort them
@@morgandrotar721 what do you mean
Ah thank you!
@@morgandrotar721 they’re talking about the map list
Update, there's a lightweight railing that you can get the doesn't expire that you can attach lights to
Another benefit to adding brightbloom to your builds is, after you attach one to your build, you will be able to move away further from it without it despawning.
The only thing about lights that one-up brightblooms is that they're solid. if you have an off-balance vehicle, the light device will partially hold it up
•Tip 1 Wings float and the water is a great to take off from
•Tip 2 If you put a fan on both sides of the wings tail they will gradually gain altitude without you having to pull back on the controller stick
•HELPFUL HINT The fan needs to be attached at the middle to the side of the tail for it to work properly
Tip 3, drop a wing upside down in water/lava and you can stand on it.
If you submerge a fan in water, even partially, they actually produce more thrust and for small boats help with stability.
@@monhi64 Did you do a test?
For anyone exploring the depths, take down the Yiga hideouts. They get you some cool autobuilds that dont yake up space on your favorites and some are really good

Yes but they're too hard :(

A good tip is when using ultra hand, pressing the left trigger will "flatten" the object you are holding. It helps a lot when building
Yeah, and anyway, the further you go, the more you find things to help you build !
it doesnt necessarily flatten the object..just put it back into the position it was originally picked up in..if it was an item you picked up. So if you pick something up that is all sideways or on a hill..its not a very helpful button.

Now the uni is my horse replacement.
haha I was thinking the same, since I always went to a stable nearby my next POI to fetch good old epona
I wanted to like the unicycle but it handles like ass if there's any gentle incline on the stabilizer side

The cannon shield for mining/rock-breaking is a game changer. I've overlooked some of these solutions because they're so simple (and just the sheer number of ways to accomplish things in this game is overwhelming), so thank you for bringing them to light!
yunobo and riju are way better
@@dropfish3109 as I've found them since I made that comment
Can you go over the sage's wills soon please?

Yesss
Here to ask the same lol .. and what yo upgrade 2sd ( he ll say 1st is tulin for sur )
idk if someone has already said this, but with the sage spirits, if you wear the corresponding divine beast mask the spirit will wear a mask too. for example, if you have the vow of tulin equipped and wear the vah medoh divine helm, tulin will wear a mask too. this was something i found while messing around in TOTK
hmmm... interesting. I heard somewhere that they "enhance" your bond with the sage, but I haven't worn the masks at all and wouldn't really be able to tell. I'm guessing what that means is that they just appear to wear them, as you've said... but perhaps there's more to learn here.
I'm aggressively drunk so I probably am not right, but I thought the divine beast masks after level 2 upgrade acted like a sages will upgrade
Same thing happens to Mineru with the zonaite helm
I was wondering why they sometimes had that mask on .. thanks for this info
@@AlexG32777 Woah, wait, Mineru gets that effect with the Zonaite set? Good to know. I thought she got shafted out of the damage bonus and bling.
Zonai carts are just big enough to stick 4 Big Wheels on. They're fireproof and small, so you don't need to choose between those two ATV options. And you can use a cart capsule instead of Zonite.
Just for asthetic I chose a Goron minecart. The one with the rounded front. Looks good and easy to attach a weapon to...

the yiga clan actually have a schematic for a "super spring" speaking of, it's 3 springs and a stake, keeps it from moving and you can make it level by letting go of it before the spring itself touches the ground
The torch attached to the balloon is such a neat idea, I'll definitely keep in mind attaching unconventional smaller items to my futures autobuilds
If you can't see them in the skies, they're currently flying through the chasms/Depths :)
Edit to add: If you want to farm stuff for weapons, just sit on the dragon you want and ride it (You can cling to them when they dive down a chasm/come back up one so you don't fall off)
If their horns/spikes are glowing, you can get a scale/claw/horn/fang from them, they go dull once you gather one and it goes on aprox a 10 minute cooldown.
@@AlaiaSkyhawk for me the item doesn't spawn until the light hits the ground
@@tesladrew2608 You need to get right on top of the light as it falls. The item only appears if you get yourself inside the falling light. I used to think it had to reach the ground also, until one time I was diving after a fang I got myself close enough to it :)
@@AlaiaSkyhawk ah, I'll try that
@@AlaiaSkyhawk Not actually required.
That first configuration is much easier to build and probably the best compact flying machine I’ve found
For anyone interested on how to build it properly:
- lay one fan flat and rest the other against it at an angle (may take a few tries)
- lay the controller flat and then attach the side of the controller to the angled fan
-after lay fan attached to the controller flat and attach the other fan to the other side
- Make sure both fans are straight across from one another
-then you hop on and just hold forward as if you were walking and you’ll maintain a good height, if you need to go up lean back a bit
Hope this helps, it is much easier to build than the hover bike
i am torn between these two version of the hover bike, I cannot decide which one to use when
1. Those boards aren't 2 x 4 meters.
2. Carts are awesome for shield skating. You should try it. Way better than the sled.
For a not-so-quick follow-up tip, if you want a fully upgraded horse that basically handles like the Satori in BotW, all while spending as little time and resources as possible, I strongly recommend starting off one of the two horses in the game that have two 5-star stats from the get-go so you can spare yourself of cooking those 18 meals:
* The 5/3/5/2 horse you can find in Zokassa Ridge or Bubinga Forest.
I generally prefer to use 2 torches, yes it’s a little more expensive but the speed boost is very worth it(in reference to hot air balloon)
Thanks for creating so many guides for tears of the kingdom ❤
When I was making the hoverbike I attached the controller to a 4x4 slab with the back hanging off and dangled it off the edge of the material platform. I attached the fan to the back to try to use the auto center feature and, assuming it wasn’t blind luck, it worked first try. Then after removing the slab I attached the forward fan from behind so that it would build facing away from me.
Not sure if someone else mentioned it, but concerning "floatability," a few empty wooden barrels can act as pontoons for boat builds
You can also hold up the wing above ground with ultrahand, place it down on the ground, step on it and use recall to get back in the air and release it to fly without cards or anything.
Can’t wait to see what amazing contraptions people come up with in the future!
Austin, your content is seriously some of the best no-nonsense designed content I've seen on TH-cam. Thank you so much for your hard work in helping us all have a better Zelda experience!
Another tip is when you need things level or elevated to attach something or precise building, try out the stabilizers or the stakes👍
Austin: "I've been muted for over three hours..."
Every content creator on YT: *nods understandingly*
11:48 a 4x4 board works great for a sea vessel so long as you rotate it 45deg so your fan is at a corner and controller is centered, very stable and nimble.
That's a good start. Try attaching a 2x4 underneath as a keel, and rather than a back fan, submerged fans on either side of the keel. You're welcome.
Thank you, I've been throwing the seeds and it's annoying that it activates the vehicle
Great stuff, I just started playing totk this month and I can’t believe how creatively complexed the game play can get. There is literally no limit to how many different ways you can play this game.
The cannon shield is good at starting fires as well. If you wanna get a bow shot on a lynel it can be pretty useful for the uplift.
This can be done by fusing a wing to a shield, then shield-jump
Thank you very much for going over everything again! I know the pain of being muted for several hours, I did a speedrun of Dragon Quest XI with no mic (it was accepted).
Okay so if you're like me and eat a LOT of apples, then this is the thing for you:
Take 2 golden apples and as many regular apples as you can, and stick them together and save it for Autobuild, then go around Satori Mountain or other places with lots of apple trees and try assembling the build, it will pick all the apples off the tree, and if it's the first time going to Satori mountain you can get over 100 apples, after doing this I have 181 apples in my inventory and I will be doing this as much as possible because I don't use meals too often
Edit: I also want to include that I currently have 19 golden apples as well, so if you're farming them this is very useful.
You can also do this with any material, maybe use it to collect dragon spike parts or loose Zonaite
good to mention also would be not to actually build this to avoid them being sticked together afterwards, but just canceling the build so they all drop to the ground
@@huntingcarbon yeah wasting Zonaite like that wouldn't be good
Hey brother, thank you so much for putting all of this together.
That’s more like a pontoon. What he made was just a swamp boat
If you wanna save more energy, you should get the Zonite Armor. It makes your battery last about twice as long.
where do I get it? Is it hard?
@@huntingcarbonthere are guides on TH-cam. It’s not hard but time consuming, and you need to have FINISHED the wind temple, and started the Sidon/Zora quest line for the zora chestpiece
@@Crybaby-Media hey don’t won’t any story spoilers I have done wind temple should I get the rest of the memories or go for the temples?
@@Crybaby-Media Technically you don't, you just need a fanbike and some battery/Zonai charges.
HOW, U KNOW WHAT IM GONNA DO I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE AUTOBUILD HOW?!
¿Que?
Simply because of how flexible it can be:
It only costs nine zoniate ore
You can attach anything to it (korok travelers, shrine stones, etc)
Can reach the dragons easier
You can attach more batteries on the sides for extra energy (just needs balancing while flying)
If you stick a giant brightbloom seed to the front, you can use it as light for traveling the depths
And how it seems pretty cheap for materials with only two fans and a steering stick.
Hey @austinjohnplays just an fyi on the spring. If you just take a spring out attach an apple to it you can auto build it if you run out of springs.
0:30 🤣 it made me laugh, that was good one
18:30 people are calling this the Bird Drop and it’s freaking amazing. Its the technique i’m using the most to traverse through the sky islands.
I would've rage quit youtube if I filmed for an entire day and the audio was muted, but Austin's a beast and he always pulls through
You mention a zonite farming video coming soon. Can’t wait! Thanks for everything!

For my shield I use one Minecart Shield One cart shield and one Sledge shield.
It saves so much time.
easy money glitch with auto build for 1.1.2:
1- fuse a piece of meat to a sword (two should be fine)
2- use ultra hand to stick together
3- use auto build to auto build the connected meat swords and attach it to the original meat swords
4- continue auto building new meat swords until you have 21 connected (max things you can ultra hand together)
5- go to a cold enough place to freeze uncooked meat (near rito village)
6- auto build the 21 meat swords but dont auto build them
7- they should fall to the ground in about 5 seconds and you have infinite sellable meat :)
Austin Jonhn without a voice?? Unimagineable!! Your voice was my gateway into the Zelda Universe!! Couldn't have happpened without the voice :-D
dude, what?! you're playing a different game than I do. Thanks a lot for these builds!
Love the Dinraal cameo. Great guy. Love sitting on his head and getting a free ride for a while.
The biggest benefit of that mid air wing pullout thing is being able to regain your Stamina mid flight. So helpful! :)
Number 1 rule of auto build favs. Add a dragon scale - it will not despawn on you the moment you go out of frame.
Shock emitter shields and frost emitter shields are op.
Also spring shield is way better than rocket shield. You can block with it.

Depending on the placement of the steering control you can get different handling from the aircraft builds.
Some quick points:
Big batteries cost 100 to autobuild
You can drop materials onto the gliding wing after your build fails, meaning you can manually assemble a new vehicle. Unfortunately you can not autobuild on a wing your riding.
This might be my favorite AJP video ever. Very helpful. (Also, I had never considered making a canon shield before.) Thanks!
