Yeah, I took advantage of this deal last week lol Got a brand new Model 3 RWD at $2.5k off and a $7500 EV tax rebate (I checked that I qualify for it as not everyone does). Essentially got this car brand new at $10K off, insane deal. I've had the vehicle since Monday and have absolutely loved driving it around. My friends and co-workers are ecstatic about it as well. Ridiculously good deal as an entry vehicle to EVs or Teslas

I got a Deep Blue exterior (which is my fav color) and the black interior with wood trim. I originally wanted a white interior but I'm really happy with the black instead. Goes great with the vehicle

@@user-qx4gp2tn5d You need a federal tax liability of $7500. Or in other words, you would need to already be paying the federal gov at least $7500 a year. Whether that's income, property tax, etc. If you don't normally pay $7500 in tax to the federal gov, then you won't qualify for the rebate. I had to double check my income and other taxes (or look at the most recent tax season) to verify that I am already paying that amount in order to qualify for the rebate. It's something not known by many people. I think Tesla describes that in the fine print on their website
@@sethsisneros8369 no, it’s my understanding that you don’t have to be paying exactly $7500 or more in taxes, but rather, if you owe anything in taxes, the EV tax credit will offset that amount UP TO $7500. In that sense, it’s a “non-refundable” tax credit so let’s say you owe $3500 in federal taxes but bought a new Tesla the prior year, the tax credit would cover that $3500 and not a cent more

I’ve had my eye on it. In Colorado the state incentive goes from 2k to 5 k on July 1st. So I will wait until then. I also will probably wait until the new model is announced to see if they drop the price on 2023 inventory further. 🤞🏻

I qualified for a 2K rebate in California. That was a Bonus. Picked up my M3 RWD on June 12th. So far, no regrets.

I feel like they're about to drop in some demos to inventory. Trying to time it for end of the month. I want one more incentive hopefully. But worried that in July the prices will go up. Wish I lived in CO or So Cal where I could tack on some extra incentives!
I think that the prices will continue to drop a little more, at least for the Standard Range Model 3. And at the end of each financial quarter they will offer more incentives. I bought my M3P a few months ago and love it. Good luck on timing your purchase. I hope that you are able to get a great deal!
Would anyone have a source on why Maryland is a top EV incentive state?
And how reliably people cash in the full tax credit? A bit unsure how tax credits play out in relation to your salary and taxes owed.

Lol no. You get the rebate taken off your taxes owned when you file your tax return next year. It is not when you buy the car, you still have to pay full price for it when you get it
I ordered my RWD LFP Model 3 on Aug 28 and picked up on Sept 12.
I ordered an existing inventory model ($39300) with $4000 off (NJ incentive), $7500 Fed tax credit and the savings compared to what i spent on gas (2018 Infiniti Q50 3.0 T). It made a lot of sense to get it. I absolutely live this car.
I went through nearly the same situation as you. I ordered an inventory Model 3 RWD on December 14 at $35,090 and picked it up on December 23. No state incentive here unfortunately (TX), but I still qualify for the full federal tax credit. I sold my 2016 Infiniti Q50 right before I took delivery.
I'm shopping on value. With the 4k Illinois rebate coming back on July 1, the RWD Model 3 is actually cheaper than a new Prius. I prefer the look of Highland and the front bumper camera would allow for a 360 camera view, but I ultimately just want a reliable car with supercharger access. Plus, I'd be worried buying the first generation after a major refresh.

I got a model 3 performance from inventory for 3250 off. I saw some used ones at dealership that are more expensive than buying a brand new one. At the Toyota near me they are selling a used 2,000miles 2023 red model 3 performance for $59,990

The best time to buy is September and October as they mark the cars down to get rid of inventory. I just ordered my model 3 and they dropped the price over $6000 to clear them out... plus I got the 5k gov incentive. Plus I used a referral code and got another $650 off.

I live in CA and just went to a Tesla store yesterday. Asked about the 7.5k CVRP and just want to give a quick warning that qualifying for that 7.5k CVRP is rather difficult, it requires you to jump through some housing and income hoops. You're given 2k right off the bat if you make less than 135k, but to qualify for the increased 7.5k rebate, you HAVE to be a single resident living on your own making less than ~54k (which goes up based on the amount of people who live in your household). You might be thinking "thats me!" but if it is you may not pay enough taxes to take advantage of the full 7.5k federal tax credit. Essentially, you'd have to make between 50k-54k yearly to take advantage of this, which is pretty tough if you're also living alone. If you make less than that, you're not paying enough taxes to take advantage of all the federal tax credit.
Its a great offer but in reality it's pretty niche. Still a great deal but it is a bit disingenuous to say that its available to everyone. Most people will instead just qualify for the $7.5k federal tax credit and the 2k CVRP though, which is already fantastic.
Exactly. If you qualify for the CVRP tax credit you likely don’t have a high enough income to get the federal 7.5k credit
Yep glad someone else said it so I didn't have to! Lots of people aren't aware of this. I'm still hoping to buy soon in CA getting nearly 9.5k in total rebates though.

If you are single, then yes, but if you are married filing jointly and you pay more than 7500K in federal taxes, it's a slam dunk, $9500 tax rebates. Boom.

My advice dont buy a tesla without at least 3-4 years warranty. The cost to fix this thing is wild without it

Model S with unlimited free supercharging is a hell of a deal. However, some used model 3 have FSD which could be super useful. Personally, I would go with a new RW model 3 before the refresh since it’s probably in the same price ballpark after incentives and unlike older model S, it has HW3, and unlike older model 3, it has the new Ryzen chip which makes everything on the screen incredibly more faster. What are you leaning toward rn?
I’d say a newer model 3 is better, old teslas might look similar to the newer ones but the tech inside has improved dramatically

Great review, but I really wish there was more on the overall driving impressions. I'm a car enthusiast, so I want to know the visceral reaction when driving the car....not the marginal gains in tech specs.

Tbh buying new is only a good deal if you actually do qualify for the tax credit, if not, used I’d definitely the way to go. Otherwise I’d just wait till the highland is officially released in America and the older model 3 prices will drop even more.
Also if you're in IL like you are - there is going to be another $4000 rebate cycle coming up announced soon! They already spent their 17 million in 2022 /23 and I read they got approved for another $20 mil for EV rebate. And it's not a tax credit! It's a rebate. Where IL sends you a check for $4K. So ok, $40K subtract $7500 subtract $4000 = 28,500. Pretty amazing. And yes I am that person who has been waiting to buy. I had one on order in Oct. and I cancelled it and I'm so glad I did! Because now I am going to save a lot for the same car.

While those prices seem great, it’s not realistic. If your quality for the CA 7.5k credit your income is likely too low for the federal 7.5k. No one is getting both tax credits so all this advertising about getting a Model 3 sub $30k is misleading

I got a model 3 at the 37k. I felt happy with it. Still feel it’s little overpriced based off the interior and build quality. Car feels more like 34-35k
Yeah I feel like there’s a certain amount of expectations people have to manage getting a Tesla. It’s not going to be at the same level of quality as other luxury brands
