Phantom to one makes the deck more (maybe not that much as you would think but more infos later) vulnerable 2 handtraps and u have to decide now between using it as protection on ur turn or a disruption in the enemy turn. Furthermore you have to decide if u use it as link fodder or not. Now u have to include more ways to recicle him. For example with adding set rotation as one more way to throne or you have to use Soul of Rage/Anguish to add him back to hand. BUT the addition of two more openings are a huge buff. It basicly has a tripple use. Opening was limited for a reason. Its the best card in the deck. its the best onecard starter. It is a very good extender and can get u indirectly to ur enginge if u manage to get revive a potential Spirit of Yubel in ur hand. The addittion of almiraj could help in that kind of scenarios if u max out on opening. In addition to that, opening can recicle ur throne or other opening more frequently now. But opening together with only one phantom makes the deck more fragil towards droll and lockbird. All in all its of course more of a nerf for yubel but not that big as it looks like at the beginning. I hope that helped a little bit. Greetings from Germany
Talked about it in winners/losers section, big hit but gets back opening… so hand traps hurt more for sure and can’t have cake and eat it as material too
Not a whole lot honestly changed with the format. Just hammers more into spend money to play this new deck because we axed your decks. To be honest, some of these hits are way too late and just not enough to actually fix the underlying problems of the game since POTE.
The best targets for locking are the ones that are level 6 or higher because you cannot send level 5 or lower monsters to the GY with Granguignol's effect, which is why Ra's Disciple is a mediocre option. None of the available level 6 or higher options are as good as Puppet Nightmare because their effects only apply while the monster is face up on the field. People that still want to lock will probably look to Ido the Supreme Magical Force.

Of course banning problematic things even if they are slightly phased out is good. What sort of silly argument is this? This is like saying Protos is okay because no one abuses it NOW. Like, it is still a very problematic card.
Lab. Tenpai ideally wanted some very pricey staples anyway, it wasn't that much cheaper to build optimal Tenpai than it was a fiendsmith Kash list or something similar.
idk about that. at 2, gateway is in a weird spot since it can be too broken and honestly unnecessary at the same time. especially since it’s already searchable. i can end my turn with 20 counters post-combos, with just the 1 copy. there’s no need to have 2 unless they out your board which they shouldn’t be able to unless they open dark ruler, droplets or super poly. on the flip side however, with all the handtraps, 2 copies of gateway might be beneficial. but as soon as handtraps fall out of favor it becomes too good again, and would have to be hit again. it’s tricky. i think they’re in a good spot rn, overall, imo. you can still play through a moderate amount of interaction and still end on a decent board and uninterrupted is unbreakable by anything short of something unrespondable like the breakers i pointed out earlier.
@@Tyler-Wiley most of their summons are inherant, just make lord shi en and you’re good. realistically there’s only a few decks playing that many handtraps and most won’t outright stop your 1 gateway unless it’s an ogre or droll
Even though I'm so happy about its death, I'd have never expected both Chundra *and* Kaimen to be hit. I thought maybe Konami would have still gave a chance for Tenpai to do something in the meta, but they completely murdered it at the very end. At the end of the day, I think that meta decks should be far more enjoyable and far more interactive (in a positive way obv) rather than shotgunning 5 bb/ht, then ns, go bp and win... so good riddance.
Nope, that deck can die. I have been 100% an advocate for cheaper decks and easier decks, but this deck making every game a non-game gives a terrible game experience compared to even Yubel build-a-board FTK because you can at least attempt to interact with that deck while with Tenpai their cursed field spell turns off a large number of inteactions and then killing you with one card.

@buonvecchiocharlie7507 cheurbini can dump it. I'm imagining there's some support in SUDA for this as well.
Where's rhe meta report on Yubel?
Talked about it in winners/losers section, big hit but gets back opening… so hand traps hurt more for sure and can’t have cake and eat it as material too
Yay no fiendsmith hit, gotta love lightsworn bystial horus feindsmith
Not a whole lot honestly changed with the format. Just hammers more into spend money to play this new deck because we axed your decks. To be honest, some of these hits are way too late and just not enough to actually fix the underlying problems of the game since POTE.
Mermail top tier potentiel for the next format
Who let the cry babies make the ban list
I think that maybe Tearlament is missing.
Snake eye players consider this a noble sacrifice because we could have it much worse
I have a cool combo including sinful spoils doom relica
Branded can still use Ras disciple right.
The branded lock still exist.. just use ra’s disciple 😌
And then watch Konami kill that too because people want to keep doing locks
Book of eclipse part of our format
@ you gotta draw it first 😗

Of course banning problematic things even if they are slightly phased out is good. What sort of silly argument is this? This is like saying Protos is okay because no one abuses it NOW.
Like, it is still a very problematic card.
Honestly, I’m gonna just play striker.
I don't play tempi. But I think it sucks to see a competitive cheap deck get killed
Cyber Jar won the banlist
Why fire king top tier potential?
Pure fire king
Deck is strong and not as reliant on Azamina engine can top if they real get well versed in their lines and Kirin abuse
Tenpai being dead means there is no actual competative budget options. Konami just said you must spend atleast $1000 to play.
Lab. Tenpai ideally wanted some very pricey staples anyway, it wasn't that much cheaper to build optimal Tenpai than it was a fiendsmith Kash list or something similar.
Voiceless
Gren Maju is the original Tenpai. Instead of handtraps it plays Kaijus and Lava Golems. Imma try it out at locals this week.
voiceless Kash Lab etc are all fine.
Sorry not sorry Tenpai players lost their room temperature IQ deck "justified" as "budget"
the decks arent actually that expensive unless you own 0 hand traps and 0 extra deck staples
Six Sams not even on the list.. can we have Gateway back to two at least Konami? 😅
Too many hand traps with ogre in the mix
idk about that. at 2, gateway is in a weird spot since it can be too broken and honestly unnecessary at the same time. especially since it’s already searchable. i can end my turn with 20 counters post-combos, with just the 1 copy. there’s no need to have 2 unless they out your board which they shouldn’t be able to unless they open dark ruler, droplets or super poly.
on the flip side however, with all the handtraps, 2 copies of gateway might be beneficial. but as soon as handtraps fall out of favor it becomes too good again, and would have to be hit again. it’s tricky.
i think they’re in a good spot rn, overall, imo. you can still play through a moderate amount of interaction and still end on a decent board and uninterrupted is unbreakable by anything short of something unrespondable like the breakers i pointed out earlier.
Gateway to 3 because everybody plays 20 hand traps.
@@Tyler-Wiley most of their summons are inherant, just make lord shi en and you’re good. realistically there’s only a few decks playing that many handtraps and most won’t outright stop your 1 gateway unless it’s an ogre or droll
Original should have been limited not ban
Dude, ok nerf tenpai by doing chundra down to 1, but Kaimen at 1 kills
Fiendsmith Unchained?
When I play branded and a tenpai player is in the front of me its all smile😂🎉
Alba Letinus contact fusion
New meta? I'll just play another year of Lab unless we get an even better trap deck. 😅
You have a good deck on your hands keep it
Now that tenpai is dead, is there an argument to defend it or 100% deserved the hits?
The only way to defend it was to say it was a new player friendly budget deck, but that excuse got out of the window as soon as Mulcharmies came out
Even though I'm so happy about its death, I'd have never expected both Chundra *and* Kaimen to be hit.
Deserved hits just look at the crowd reaction
Nope, that deck can die.
I have been 100% an advocate for cheaper decks and easier decks, but this deck making every game a non-game gives a terrible game experience compared to even Yubel build-a-board FTK because you can at least attempt to interact with that deck while with Tenpai their cursed field spell turns off a large number of inteactions and then killing you with one card.
Ritual Beasts best deck.
20 minute of combo to accomplish nothing lol, just to make colossus or Protos
Loses to Fuwa, Purulia, Droll, Lancea, Imperm+Nib have fun.
