We watched your video on 3109 RD and we have 2018 2970RL Imagine and we’re amazed at the changes made by Grand Design! Wish we waited! Enjoy your videos!
Ha! I know what you mean. That said if you're waiting for Grand Design to be complacent you're gonna be without an RV for a long time. It is nice to see a company actually listen to customer feedback and make requested updates/changes. Ironically I shot a vid today with a 2020 version of our exact floor-plan. Tons of upgrades! Keep an eye out for that one. It is interesting.
Wandering Weekends I do agree! Grand Design does a great job! We are looking for a F250 Diesel as we are pulling with a F150 now! Enjoy your informational videos!!!
Good job Cory and Brooke. Nice review and very pretty Grand Design. I love the windows but there's always a part of me that sees windows as "future potential leaks". All in all, I can see why you love this model. Hey, y'all need to join us on the show again soon!
Love the flat cabinets. There needs to be less nooks and crannies to clean. I’d like to see that in our Solitude. Not much counter space in kitchen. Love all the windows. That fireplace is way bigger than needed. Could be cabinets. Looks pretty sweet. Bedroom has lots of room. Unfortunately too long for us. We still need to do a tour of our Solitude. Take care. Alice.
Excellent review, love the layout and the abundance of windows. Our 2020 2800BH has a lot of the same features (bigger fridge, peg pan storage, friction door, morryde steps on the main door). Our biggest issue was the cabinet hardware. They are somewhat sharp and have a very small grab area. Ended up changing out every one of them for something more traditional (like are in the earlier models). Just something to think about.
We just returned from 3 weeks in FL. Ya'll have fun at the RV show. Great looking rig and your F250 should tow it with no problems. Pull the string and get an RV show price while you are there!.
I like this floorplan. Really glad GD decided to use the rack n pinon slides. Can't stand those Schwintek slides and doubt I would buy a model with schwintek. Like what they did with Colors as well. The opposing slides really opens it up and having those trifolds would be great for guests. Definitely a possibility when we decide to upgrade from our Transcend 221rb.
GD seems to have a lot of nice features, and well built, (for a camper. . .) We just went to an RV show in the Chicago suburbs last Friday, and GD were about the nicest of what they were showing. With your kids, it would be the right size. With both my wife and I being retired and empty-nesters, (with the occasion of grandkids once in a while,) that one's WAY too big for us! There's a lot of campgrounds we go to where you'd need a shoehorn to get one of those in! Our's is a 26 footer, and sometimes even that one's tight!!
Great review guys. You should really look into a 5th wheel. You have the truck, now get the rig! Lol. Brooke you did awesome on this video. I see another KYD TEAM!
scott Michel I don’t know if we have enough energy for Marc and Trish, lol. We saw so many 5ths this weekend... still travel trailer folks. How’s the driveway camping going?!
@@WanderingWeekends lol, we have 2feet of snow, and its 19 degrees out. But we are still camping! We have used it all weekend. Once it gets up to temp. The fireplace keeps it pretty warm. Plus it helps that we have heated blankets in each room. Have fun, and hope to see you this summer!
We have a 2020 2800BH and it has all those things that are new to you. But what really got my attention was that dinette! Hey GDRV, how can I get that? It might be worth sacrificing the underseat storage just to have that dinette!
Question... is it legal to travel in the back of an RV while it's towed? I'm assuming safety features would be required. And it may depend on which state?
It varies by state. Here in Georgia it is illegal to ride in a travel trailer. I can’t recall whether riding in a 5th wheel is allowed. Some states allow one but not the other. Weird really. Haha
Thanks for the tour - really like that model. The den setup around the large screen TV is awesome. Would def need a F250 to tow it which pushes it out of my league unless I upgrade my truck.
Love Grand Design, but like a lot of trailers it's design is really meant for a family of 4. Our family of 5 could adapt but our current TT is a perfect fit for 5. However, I really like the GD 28BH 5er!!
Warren M two can certainly fit on the left sofa. Also, we forgot to film it but that dinette also doubles for extra TV seating. Take those two dinette chairs and face them towards the back. It works out well (although I’m getting a recliner!! Haha). Hard to go wrong with any of them really. It’s a blessing to RV regardless of floorplan! 😊
@@WanderingWeekends Fantastic! Thank you so much... I apologize for the bluntness, I was working and just busting through tasks. Want to buy an RV to become a digital nomad as I start my business. This was a GREAT video! One of the best I've seen. So thank you!
We had a “grand” time! So many rigs to walk through. Got to meet some youtubers, bought some accessories, toured amazing Super C’s, and ran into several folks we knew. It was a much better way to spend a Friday than working!
That plan is great for 2 adults, but a family of 4, it’s a bit of a pain. Yes, it sleeps plenty, and you can definitely manage with 4, but the problem comes when you are staying somewhere for a week and you don’t have that extra bedroom or room just for the kids and their clothes, and other junk that kids bring along. It would be a complete pain to have all the kids clothes, toys, games, bags, etc. in the living area. the cabinet space in the back is fine for some of their stuff, but still not enough space for a weeks worth of kids stuff. You need a bunkhouse.
Scott Johnson we’ve been in a bunk model for two years. We actually still really like it but we also know how we camp. Plenty of storage for us in this rig.
@@WanderingWeekends I do like the extra living area, but to keep from having to always put the couches back in place and fold the blankets, pick up the clothes, etc each night, we just prefer a dedicated place for the kiddos. Sadly, let just say, we do love our unit, although l don think for the money that people spend on these units, somethings should be better made, ex. make the windows a tad better. Make something like wands to open the vents on the ceiling for short people. Also make the sinks out of better quality, we have noticed that they have little rust spots on them. if you don't wipe them down every time. Also a better mattress in them. Ours was so cheap we had to put a new one in, even after spending thousands of dollars on this unit. Also l think you should make the oven a bit bitter, you can only really fit something that is only 4 inches. And the table is really high,, my hubby is 6 ft and he found it was a bit to high . Ya we love all the light that comes into the unit, and the black out blinds. Although all is all this is a great unit, one main thing is,, Grand Design, should think about short people.... enough said.
Never owned a trailer or 5th wheel , what I dont understand is that the gray water tank size, I would gladly trade 20 gal extra in fresh water tank size for a reduction in gray and black water capacity. To me, that is extra time boondocking. I must be missing the ideology behind the tank sizes....
I've pulled longer. Safety isn't an issue if you're setup correctly. My only concern would be cutting off site availability because of the length. Hasn't been an issue with a 32ft rig. 35 shouldn't be much different.
I'm actually glad they don't put bedroom slides in the Imagines. Lighter weight and one less thing to go wrong. Minus sleeping we spend almost zero time in there so it works well for us.
If all three tanks, fresh, grey and black are full then you will be overloaded per gvwr and tires. That’s even without carrying personal belongings. I don’t know why camper mfg do this?
@@WanderingWeekends Thanks, I did not know the 1/4 tank rule. I've only owned one camper and it sat at the campground all last year. Sold it and looking at new ones.
