In honor of "Red Green", the proper way to attach the heated seat back to the main seat is with DUCT TAPE. It doesn't get any better!

I have been watching your TH-cam site for years and thoroughly enjoy it. I think that you and Christy do an excellent job of informing and educating your viewers. I watched your “Scammed Heated Seat Cover Review Worth It for Compact Tractor Snow Plowing?” At Mark 138, you asked your viewers to send examples if they felt they were scammed by a vendor. I feel I have been ripped off (scammed). I bought a HLA1500 snow pusher from Good Works Tractor. It came with a back drag. In addition, I also purchased a UHMW replacement cutting edge and UHMW replacement skid runners. I received them and noticed that I did not receive the steel cutting edge and skid runners originally included by the manufacturer. I could tell the steel cutting edge had been removed before being shipped to me, and the steel skid runners were not on the pusher. When I contacted the vendor about the lack of the original steel components, even though I paid additional money of $700 for the UHMW parts, the vendor said I was not entitled to the original components. An analogy would be if you buy a lawn mower from a local store, it comes with a cutting blade, but you are able to purchase a replacement at an additional cost and have the vendor install it. You still walk away with both blades. I believe I was scammed and it is unfortunate. You have used this vendor’s products on your show. In fact, you used the same snow pusher that I purchased. I was led to this vendor after hearing about them on your show. You asked and I am telling you, this guy ripped me off. I am disheartened that the vendor would take advantage of a customer, even when given an opportunity to make things right. I will continue to watch your presentations and learn from what you discuss. Thank you.

Very hard for us to remove all the episodes with his stickers on our equipment. However, if you find verbal endorsements in our videos, please let us know. We will do our best to remove them.

Tim, I have used the heated cushion for about 10 years now and have recommended it on many channels. Add the seat cover to it to hold it in place and just leave it there year round. The added padding is nice for those long seat days. Mine does have a high and low setting and that too makes a big difference. Love your videos.

@@mikeadams2339 First tractor was a Bx2200, now a Bx2670. I actually bought the heater at our Home Depot for $15 when I bought it, they had them on sale at the time as a Christmas special. This year I bought a replacement at our Runnings store as the covering is wearing on the original. I have mine covered by a universal seat cover I also got from HD. You will want to do a cover as well as those elastic cords on the heaters eventually stretch to uselessness from getting on and off the tractor.

Yep… I bought a really expensive router planing bit. The name brand bit was shown in the photo… what I got was a cheap knockoff. It wasn’t made the same and didn’t even have the name brand manufacturers trademarked color.
I checked the sellers listing and found their rating was low… for exactly that reason. So, I sent it back.
Then I drove 60 miles to the Grizzly Equipment dealer and picked up the real deal!
I wish I’d checked the Amazon listing first!!! But, I did get to spend a delightful morning ogling all the cool woodworking equipment… at Grizzly!

I got my heated seat at Rural King (Simonez brand) a year ago when my son said dad try it it's only $20 and if it doesn't work it's not that much to lose. I put mine under my JD seat cover and it works great! On our cold winter days here un PA it gives enough heat to take the chill off and make it comfortable on the open station on my 2025R. I just plug it into my accessory plug when I start the tractor and in a few minutes it gets warm.

Hi Tim and Christie I’ve used the electric seat my self and it gets hot 🥵 that’s why there’s a safety switch when no one is sitting on it. I’ve never used it on my 1025r but I think I will after seeing your video. There’s a gap on the seat 💺 so you can place a 1/2” screw on the back of your seat to hold the heated seat cover to it

I have a 2014 1025 with a loader mounted blade and a 2021 758 with a blower. I have the cheap heated cushion like you showed in the beginning of the video. I got mine from Menards for around $12. I have the JD seat covers over the heated cushions and leave them on year round. I run a bunge cord around the seat cover right where the cover bends at the bottm & top. The cord fits tight and you never feel the cord. The 758 only has power when the key is on. The 1025 is live all the time and I have to remember to unplug the cushion when done with it. If I forget you will know it the next morning when you want to start the tractor. Wouldn't be without them. Installed them on each tractor since day one and no problems. Run them on low all the time. Have a good day.

That old(?) tried-and-proven 54" JD blade directly mounted seems to give you a smoother finish. Undoubtedly because it is closer to the front axle and follows it better. Although my old 54" JD blade is mounted by special adapter to my fork frame and sits about as far out as your Artillian blade, mine is set up to take advantage of the float feature of the loader arms. When not in float it also gave choppy results.
It's just fun to watch you moving right along so fast blasting all that snow to the sides! I actually enjoy pushing snow. My warmth while pushing snow comes from heated socks. I once tried some heated long-johns, but got too hot in them. In the summer I use one of those recirculating ice packs they give you after a surgery. It has a "wrap", similar to a blood pressure cuff, with water passages that let's chilled water flow from an Igloo-type six pack cooler with water and ice in it and a pump mounted to the side. It hangs easily on the roll cage and disconnects quickly. Just cooling one arm makes me feel cool all over.

I installed one of these seats in my brother-in-law’s car a few years back. In looking through them, I got one that had three heat settings. It installed easily with similar hooks and straps. He loved it because it helped his arthritis. The cost was around $80.00. I wish now I could have got one of those for a skid steer that I used to clear snow. Return the other one. I have got several products that did not match the add. The writer and proof reader must have disliked their boss……. May want to check it has a UL Listed.

I think this is what I've been looking for. I usually am getting on and off my 1025R many times but when you're blowing snow you could be on the tractor a couple of hours. I have a Frontier front mounted snowblower. With the snow we got this year I've used the snowblower 3 times now. Blowing snow for an hour or more without a cab can get a little cold on this old body. I am definitely going to check this out. Thank you for showing and testing products like this.

Glad it worked well for you too! I am super happy with it for $40. It isn't as perfect as an OEM heated seat in a car, but that's why it costs $40 and not $400. For a tractor, it's perfect. And if it gets wrecked from abuse, you're not out a lot of money. With the JD seat cover, it did not overheat my behind. I've been on it several times for 30-40 minutes each and honestly it is just right. So comfortable I kinda forgot it was even there. It wasn't overheating my ass and I wasn't cold. Just perfectly comfortable. Wearing just jeans, shirt, and coat. (OTC cab). I assume the JD seat cover is insulating a big of the heat so isn't "too much".

The bungie cord idea isn't a bad one Tim. But instead of wrapping it around the seat, get a short cord and hook those top links onto it and pull them over the seat like suspenders maybe. So the bungie cord will give you the extra length to possibly latch it onto something else under the seat - maybe the seat spring or whatever you have there. I figure a shorter bungie cord, like 6-12" might be enough reach to let you hook onto something.

Yah, I was thinking two bungees, one from the left ring to the lower right bottom of the seat, and one from the right ring to the lower left bottom of the seat. Another alternative would be using a piece of aluminum tape (real ductwork tape, not Duct (or Duck) Tape) and tape the straps to the seat back. Aluminum tape will stick to darn near anything, and a little Goo Gone will remove any residue when you take it off.

Though not cheap, I repurpose my heated motorcycle gear (jacket liner & gloves) for use on the tractor to minimize layers. If I had to spend any significant amount of time in the cold on my tractor then I would add the heated pants and inner soles for my boots as well. The gear works well with a battery pack when you're not near a 12v outlet. A combination of that heated seat cushion and heated gloves would be a cheaper solution that would be a winner in my book.

Tim: While these scams do crop-up on Amazon and eBay, the solution is simple. You can return any item that isn't "as described" for a full refund, including your postage both ways. These online giants aren't always the best way to shop but the customer is always protected. As others have said, don't let the scammers away with it - send it back.😁👍

Not always ‘including postage’. That is the rub. This one wanted us to pay return postage.

@@TractorTimewithTim If you go through the "problem with order" process, you should get everything back Tim, either from the seller, or from Amazon themselves. Alternatively, if you paid by card, or with Paypal, they should cover you. Mentioning to the seller that your YT channel has nearly 200k subs, many of whom buy tractor accessories, might make a difference too. If all else fails: name them and shame them. 😁

How about using a long zip tie from the bottom up to the top one to hold it in place

It happens from time to time, more frequently lately. I've always gotten a refund. Of course, just getting successful delivery is a challenge these days. I've had three items marked as delivered that were never actually received (I live in the country with people home all the time, so porch pirates aren't an issue, so it isn't that.)

Most Amazon returns never make it back to the seller. They get sent to a warehouse, put in a large box with many different items. Then sold off for just pennies on the dollar. Amazon pulls the money back from the seller to refund you.

Tim, when it comes to products made in China & sold on Amazon you got to be careful when it comes to the reviews. Many Chinese companies pay individuals just to leave 5 stars & good reviews for their products. Amazon has tried to crackdown on this but with mixed results.

How about those command strip sticky hooks for an attachment point on the seat? Great review and good job as usual.

There is stick on Velcro that would attach to the back of your seat that then would allow you to attach the upper straps to the back of your seat. Did not go through all the comments to see if anyone else made this suggestion.

Does deere offer a heated seat option on their compact tractors or does any manufacturer for that matter? If not they are missing the boat I bet heated seats and steering wheels would be a very popular option for an open station tractor.

So let me try this again, first time I typed it in it just pissadeared. :)
I will say that since one of Amazon's issue reporting items is "Item was not the same as pictured." that that is probably an issue that others have experienced. I have not actually had this problem however I have read in some items I've looked at that WAY down towards the bottom in the Item Description it says something to the effect "Item may not be the same as the picture."

Could you somehow attach the top straps down to the straps in the center. Maybe with a Bungie or some zip ties?

I had a similar experience with a cell phone battery, The picture and description indicated a 3200 mah battery but i received a 2750 mah battery. Amazon replaced the battery but the replacement was the same as the one i had received. I notified Amazon the second time and they refunded my money without requiring I return the product..

The only brand issues I’ve personally seen is with Amazon and it only happens when it’s a third party seller. Just stay away from third party and it won’t be an issue.

I noticed your wheel spinner (Brody knob) leans in like mine...you would think john deere could make it so it sits straight on the steering wheel😅

When you have no place to attach, use duct tape! Bungee cords that reach down to the back of the tractor should work as well.

Rule #1... whenever you see comments in the reviews about some folks receiving a different item than what is advertised... STOP! Then move on and find a different product from another vendor.

You can find these really cheap at stores too, I just bought one a week ago at Wal-Mart for $16 that plugs into the 12v port on the 1025r and has high and low settings. I have used it probably a couple hours so far with my Original Tractor Cab and have to say, it's almost as good as having a heated cab with this setup. In 32 deg weather I had a sweatshirt and jeans on and had to turn it to low then off for a bit because it was keeping me too warm.
