The Windows Vista / 7 Aero Glass is simply the most pleasant system interface I have ever seen in my life.
Gotta miss the times when everything looked so detailed, shiny and vibrant - so, so much more alive that using a single computer felt like living inside of a dream.

If only it wasn't so damn heavy on budget and mobile graphics of those times... Literally ~15% FPS improvement pretty much everywhere by killing off DWM process tree in taskmgr a couple of times when AeroGlass is enabled. Epic fail. XP Luna did not have such problems- at best, you'll get +5% FPS there by doing the same, and only on potatoes and calculators.

@fahimhoq3166battery consumption in aero was the problem, they tried simplifying aero in pre release win8 builds but just wanted to make aero 2d to match metro that was a new thing in their os and ahead of its time

I used to run XP SP3, before Vista. I remember how well Vista UI used to look. That was the greatest UI improvement in the history of operating systems for me. So, again, I came from XP and then I had to upgrade to Vista. Unfortunately, my experience with it was bad. Almost all of my games run badly, the OS alone drained almost all the available RAM. I reinstalled it several times, to no avail. Vista was a failure from my perspective.
Then, thank God, 7 came up. And that was a worthy successor for XP.
In fact, I think that's MS's policy. Their OS come in pairs: a good one (XP), a bad one (Vista), a good one (7), a bad one (8), a good one (8.1), a bad one (10 and so on).
@@Mobiledotwww Yeah, as great as Windows Vista was in certain aspects, it didn’t initially run well on most hardware at the same until more drivers and Service Pack 1 came out.

They had already been working on Windows Vista for six years before it’s release in 2007, so they were eager to release it as soon as possible.

Very cool video and I also love how you included a song which samples the Windows Vista sounds. I didn't had a Windows Vista device but I used my sister's old Acer Aspire PC with Windows Vista a lot. I played mostly the Windows Vista games such as Purple Palace but I lastly also remember playing a Cars game on it. Very awesome times summarized with the Acer Aspire PC and Windows Vista!
I have it on my 2008 laptop (illegaly upgraded to ultimate), it's installed alongside win 7 and ubuntu, this laptop is pretty powerful so vista is actually a pleasant experience on it

The main problem with Vista was that it was quite a leap when it came to the specs that ran it. (Asking for 2GB ram when 512 MB could still be seen) and the fact that Microsoft forced OEM’s to install it on everything including those that were better off with XP

Vista is the “most visually appealing” version of Windows. It had some cool 😎 new features, it was just a step or 2 or 3 ahead of the hardware people had at the time, which resulted in a slower PC and more issues. But if you have substantial hardware, Vista is a gem 💎

I love Vista, too. It's always my desire to use it seriously. When I was too young, my parents don't want to upgrade their PC's hardware to meet Vista's recommendation and when I have my own laptop, the 7 is the only choice because it compatibles with my University's software. Nowadays I still can't choose it because it will destroy my SSD and most important thing is Steam app (for games) doesn't support Vista anymore.

Also, I am about to get the Authentic copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (In Italian, just because I live in Italy), to install it on my Asus P7H55-M LX Desktop Computer because I wanted to. But before, my dad will get money in November and hopefully me and my dad buy the Original and authentic Windows 7 Ultimate Copy in Italian on eBay!
Also, did you know that COA Seals of real and authentic copies of Windows and Microsoft Software DVDs say "Made in Puerto Rico" for the US Releases and "Origin: Ireland" for the European releases while the counterfeit and fake ones say: "Made in USA"?

I really like Vista. It's still horrible as it's slow and on an era of PC's that were just absoutle tinfoil but it's graphics are beautiful and it still holds up today.

The Windows Vista GUI is my favorite interface. Too bad I no longer have the activation key, but fortunately I still have the Windows Vista .ISO file.

Vista was good when SP1 and SP2 came out, but when rtm came out, It was not that good, I do like the aero theme and even if it was bad in rtm, that doesn't change my mind that is was good after a little bit

I would choose Ultimate because it has the most features. If not, then Home Premium would also be good.

@@VistaFan2008Extras If you can, I recommend purchasing a copy of Vista SP1, so you would only have to install one service pack more. Also, if you want to, you can get more than one! :D

Я не понимаю, почему Висту считают одной из самых провальных? Красиво вроде. Windows Vista считается родоначальником последующих систем, таких как Windows 7, 8 (самая провальная, её недочёты были исправлены в Windows 8.1), Windows 10 и 11.
В Детстве у меня вообще была Windows XP, и она была очень долго у нас, до 2015 года. Её поддержка прекратилась вместе с Windows Vista, в 2012 году кажется.
Потому что требования были слишком большими, ну и плюс она сама по себе была кривой. Даже в 2017 году у меня именно на ней были проблемы с установкой то ли флеш плеера, то ли веб плеера от юнити.
А ещё виста не родоначальник семёрки. Она должна была лишь заполнить пробел между xp и 7.
Но из этой троицы виста действительно самая красивая, особенно её концепты(зацени фанатскую тему longhorn evolution remix, которые воссоздают концепты выставки 2003 года)
