    What about the dust particles entering?
    Pore size difference??

    • @rvkvikas
      @rvkvikas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      You are absolutely correct. Excess dust going into the engine is also an issue.

      I gave it 0 out of 10 for offroading. as this airfilter remains open under ur seat it got covered with lot of dust and mud during off roading.i used rc1060 k&n filter on my ns200.during one of my offroad ride mud got stuck on this airfilter and after that i am not able to start my bike for 3 hrs cauz the lack of proper air going inside. so i think stock is best.☮️☮️☮️🙏

      Tejas Iyengar bro same issue it's open under seat so I find it difficult during rainy season so would it be good to again install stock filter and once done with rains I will switch back to k&n !! And after the filter swap I will tune the carb by adjusting the AFR . so is it ok to go back to stock for 3-4 month by re adjusting the AFR for the stock filter ?

This has happened with em before so i know all the problem. Bosch motronic ECUs which come with all KTM bikes can be reset to changed running conditions due to free flow airfilters by keeping the bike idling for 15 mins without the need of remapping....just make sure you are in open space as the bike heats up while doing this...

    Even a stock replacement can also be used as a free flow airfilter, only thing is to remove the top cover of the air filter box. But cone airfilter is totally rubbish, to fix the cone air filter we have to remove the entire airfilter box and the cone filter is directly fitted to carburettor which is very unsafe because it can't be maintained easily for cleaning and other stuffs... So over all stock replacement is best and easy to maintain.

  • @uzebahmed1059

    Sir do we still need to rejet the carburettor in case of carburettor bikes if we install only a stock replacement air filter or is it really not that necessary?

    I had a Pulsar 220 which I rode for more than 5 years. I used the Stock replacement air filter from K&N just because i wanted to use something new and better product than before(sponge filter). But surprisingly i found a little bump on the early rpms to the higher mid range and the bike was a bit smoother than before. Also i got a avg fuel consumption of around 40kmpl even in summer times . Note: I did change my spark plugs too from stock to the Iridiums from Ngk. That might have helped too.. Nice Video Vikas. That was informative.

    • @aviricky6026
      @aviricky6026 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shuvrojyoti Kar bro. It will but in a positive way. As the name suggests its a perfect replacement of your stock air filter. The material is way more classy and also the air passages are better than sponges. Therefore it is possible that you get a slight more air inlet than the stock sponges of the bajaj pulsar 220. Mine worked perfect. Im thinking to re do it on my current cbr 250r

    Remapping is not always required IF you have a fuel injected motorcycle you need to check the operation of its existing range and if your Intake pushes in more than the ECM can handle then and only then you need to remap, otherwise, it is not needed. As a general observation on Yamaha R15, the ECM easily compensates for the increased inputs (Mind you the "Free flow" intake from K&N does not extravagant air into the system than a stock filter). Now if you have a performance motorcycle then you should probably take it to a garage and do a proper observation. For commuter bikes under 2 Lacs Remapping is not required. Refer to this document. www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/YA-1208.pdf

      Akshay SeKHaR My best guess would be nope, you don't need to. But jetting by yourself is not as easy as flashing a ECU. But don't take my word for it.. just check with service station or any RE forums out there..

      Shobin p bro some say that conical shape air filters allows more dust but some say it purifies dust and send clean air so is conical filter safe to use? I've been using k and n conical filter in my rs 200 since a year and confused please tell me bro

    • @shobinp5789
      @shobinp5789 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Obviously any performance filter will allow more air/dust into the engine and in the long run can be bad for your engine. That's what performance filters are designed to do. Now that is in theory. In practice, I have seen many 150CC motorcycles running on filters for years without a problem. So unfortunately not me or anyone can give you 100% correct advice on this. Its just the probablity of you getting an issue or not.
