Wonderfully perfect Pilatus railway movie! grandfather and grandson waving , the sound of cowbells, beautiful view, drone photography, wonderful ! Thank you very much!👍
@MyUnrealPlanetTV yes. When I am in Switzerland I always remember the book Heidi. Picturesque mountain meadows and a little girl, a boy, and the grandfather...
I went on this cab ride at age 15 in '77 and enjoyed it so much, going up Pilatus a second time five years later in '82. It offers such amazing vistas of Luzern and beyond. I have always favored Luzern, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Heidelberg as my favorite small German speaking cities as well as a sampling of different German dialects. I feel the Lake of the Four Forest Cantons has the place in my American soul as the best scenery in the world and a Pilatus trip is the perfect way to cap a visit there. Thanks for sharing this video of a memory of mine that is nearly 50 years old.
As a fan of the Brienzer Rothorn Bahn, I must say that this line is at least as impressive as that. Not to mention your luck catching nice weather and these stunning sights! Thank you so much for sharing this adventure with us! Greetings from Germany!
Greetings from Colorado Springs, USA. We have Swiss Cog Trains going up Pikes Peak to the west of us. Some steep gradients, but Nothing like this! Amazing views and engineering to construct it. Thanks ever so much for this. Definitely want to do this trip. ❤
I used to think driving trains down 1:37 (2.7%) gradients was alarming at times.... but an average gradient of 35% with sections as steep as 48% is just nuts, noting that the traction motors, which engage the cogwheels horizontally into both sides of the racks between the rails are used for powering the train uphill and for braking it when travelling downhill... they generate electricity, which is fed into cooled electrical resistances, also known as grids, which has a very considerable braking effect... the train wheels are simply there to guide it.... an amazing piece of railway engineering...
What can I say except Astounding? The slow, steep journey through various landscapes was something to behold. I look forward to seeing more like this in the future.
@martythemartian99 It is a very stunning journey. It was way steeper than I thought it would be, it got me unprepared, which is why the camera is pointed so low at the ascending.

Pilatus..with a coach driver. I was tour leader with a group. We took this train and I thought it was magnificent. Wow! We have some pretty cool stuff in New Zealand, but nothing like this!
@Chris.Davies It is amazing. I am very curious to see railway lines in New Zealand one day.
Very cool engineering and the tech involved
@jamesburnside3023 True.
I can imagine how expensive was to construct this rail. Fantastic anyway.
@agostinhobioni9407 Thank you for your feedback. I can not imagine really how it was done back then. It is amazing piece of engineering.
Engenharia perfeita feita pelo meu poderoso é grande Deus 👏🕊️🕊️😞🤚❤
Wish the camera was angled up a little more on the ascent, I enjoy the scenery not just the tracks. But overall very beautiful
@kellymccarter6032 When I put the camera I did not imagine how steep actually is the line. I am thinking about film it again with proper camera position.
Cool !!
