    I don't remember the exact steps, but on Windows 10 you can set your display to be in 1080p mode with integer scaling, so your 4K display looks like a 1080p display with no blurring

    I use the older version of this monitor, the SW2700PT from BenQ. Love this screen and the results I get editing on it. The prints I get out of my P800 are very close to what the BenQ renders. If you're looking for a top notch monitor at a reasonable price look no further.

    I bought own both BenQ SW271 27 2017 and the SW270C 2019, I do a little video work as well on top of editing photos for my bookings, so paying for that additional $300 for a 4k monitor is worth it. I do notice that the new 2019 monitor SW 270c emits a better color and is vibrant, think of a Star Wars light saber pulsing that radiant red or green color beaming. But the 2017 model is a little lacking.. Maybe because its 2 years older or maybe the pixel is slowing aging but I do notice, using my dual setup, I prefer the 2019 model play backing my videos and is used to edit my image on, while the 2017 model holds my interface workspace.

    You make some great points and if 90% of your work is targeted for web use, this does seem like a good choice. But I have to ask about that other 10% - do you find it frustrating using 16:9? Personally, I much prefer 16:10 since 16:9 is invariably too "skinny" for most print formats. And can you rotate this monitor for vertical formats? Thank you for your excellent videos. Best regards from Canada.

    I have a mb pro m1 & want a solid monitor for photo editing/printing. But I'm used to using the imac large monitors for everything--internet, email, TH-cam etc. Can the BenQ monitor work well for those things too? Or would I need to use the MacBook Pro?

I tried a 4k BenQ but using the native resolution (4k) was way to small so I had to scale but then u are not using 4k anymore! 3440-1440 and 2560-1440 with a ppi near 110 should be the sweatspot for mac users or go 5-6 k thats what Apple want us to do hence their new displays! That are way to overpriced!

    Does the output changes when printed because of the resolution of the monitor?
    I mean, if I buy SW240 which is bit higher resolution than 1080p and print a photo after editing on it will the output be any different if the same editing was done on a 4k version..?
    I hope I able to explain my question..

    Hello I love your review, I am studying to buy a monitor and precisely these two models are what I want, seeing you change the model for a 2K makes me doubt, I was almost convinced of the Sw271 for being 4K and I am seeing that I can be wrong to have that scaling problem. The question would be: If you scaled the 4K monitor to 2K you did not get the same effect as with the Sw 270C but with more definition? Or is it better to change the model to have the native 2Ks?
    Thank you

      I saw in another video that if you're not editing video in 4k then there is no need for a 4k monitor. For one, it will make your script smaller such as in LR or PS. It will be difficult to read the names of the scales (exposure, clarity, luminance, etc.) and the drop down menus as well. Plus your computer might need more processing power to work with a 4k monitor - it could run slower.

    • @benconover72
      @benconover72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, after buying the BenQ 4k I think it was not a good idea. The text is too small in programmes like Capture One or LR and it's really overkill. The 2k monitor would be better for the simple reason that it would not pixelate when zooming to 100% on a photo, where a 4k monitor set to 2k (only way to actually use it....so why bother ? ) - does.

    • @mikedavis1110

      How does 4K video look on a 2K monitor and when you take it back to 4K? I had read 4K down sampled to 2K doesn’t look the same after returning 4K monitor.
      Also for the fonts can be scaled to fit or the monitor will now automatically. Also with the SW321C being reduced in price $200, it’s getting closer to the 27”4K price point $1599. The current 2k monitor is $799, so it’s a big difference in cost between the versions. Now the newer SW272U or SW272G is out in 27” 4K/2K with the thinner monitor edge like the PD models.

      @@PLANETWATERMELON I purchased mine just one month after that comment I made. Yes, the monitor comes with the hood but it won't fit in the vertical position. Well, at least in the dealer that I purchased the monitor (Vistek - Canada) it came with the hood. The monitor is superb. and for image retouching / fine art printing workflow, the resolution is good enough. The only problem that I found so far is that using it with a new M1 Apple Macbook Pro, sometimes the monitor just losses the display port (via thunderbolt cable) connectivity. The OS still recognizes the monitor, but for some reason the monitor doesn't display any image and shows a message of no signal found. I spent one week trying to make it work again the first time it happened. It's just a matter of turning every thing off, disconnect the monitor's power cable from the wall, wait ~ 10 seconds, and turn every thing back on. It's annoying, but it works. It happened 3 times so far since I purchased it 3 months ago.
