Yeah, the old man is right. The 2000s revival of Metal and those who can experience it without radio and MTV play are so lucky because they have TH-cam now where they can pull up every music video ever made and watch it anytime. And yeah, the Metal revival spawned countless new bands that will hopefully go on tor quite some time. And what's great and unique about that is that Hard Rock and Metal are the longest running music genre in modern history, aside from Country music, i guess. Metals has been what it is for about 45 years now. If you think about it kinda getting started in 1978 or so, maybe even a little earlier than that with KISS and Sabbath, but compared to ther genres, starting in the 1920, you really only had about 10 years at most that those genres lasted. Roaring 20s music, Big Band sound of the 30s and 40s, then Rock n Roll and BeBop in the 50s. Then Hippy/Acid Rock in the 60s. Then Disco/Soft Rock of the 70s, and then Metal in the 80s with New Age and Pop.
Dashy did get it right. TRIVIUM is indeed Metalcore but with a more Thrashy sound. This sound just happens to be one of their more Ballady-type songs. Most of their other stuff is quite a bit faster and Matt Heafy (the vocalist/guitarist) does a wicked screaming vocal as well. But as you can see here, he's got an excellent clean vocal as well. But there's a bit of a backstory on his voice. He actually hurt his voice/vocal chords by doing the screaming, and sometimecwithin the 2010s he had to have surgery on them, and then let them rest before attempting to go back to doing screaming vocals. But this time he took proper lessons to teach him how to scream without damaging his vocal chords. So there was about 2 albums in their 10 album catalog where there's very little screaming. In fact, i think the backing vocalist (the other guitarist), did the screaming in certain parts. This band has been around since 2003 i believe, and at the time, they sounded like a new Metallica. Same kind of riffs, and what not, but screaming vocals. However they did a cover of "Master of Puppets" on their 2nd album, and it's just as good as, if not even better than the original. It's right up there with Liliac's version for sure. Now as for their 10 album catalog, i was collecting it from very early on, however after the 5th album, i kinda lost interest in them due to changing musical tastes, however sometime last year, i heard one of their newer songs qnd i was like Damn, they're still pretty good, so i decided to buy up their latest 5 albums. And there's some really good stuff in there. The 5th album, "In Waves" which i already had, i finally gave a good listen to and was really impressed with it. Absolute solid album. 9/10. But i gotta admit, the clean vocals albums, i didn't care much for. Too Alt Metal/Emo-y for me. But they're still good instrumentally wise. It's just that this kind of music requires screaming vocals.
Watched you guys doing Ice Nine Kills my fav band and a couple of other reactions I loved! But now I just gotta make a comment. Genuinely hilarious reaction to your funny comments throughout the whole video! 😂 Reminds me of my time with my dad, we were all for the comedy! He passed a year ago and I still miss him as much to this day! ❤️ Your bond brings him to life, sincerely wish you two the best & a lovely rest of the weekend! 🥰

They are metalcore. My wife's favourite band. And we have seen them here in Manchester so many times I feel like I know them.. And will again in January.. And we used to go with our eldest daughter.. Now she's a mum herself. It's just us pair..😂 Might have to take my 7 year old son.. You pair really should do. A gunshot to the head of trepidation.. It's pure metalcore....😎🤟🤟🤟
I recommend you to react to Trivium - Caustic Are The Ties That Bind. One of their most underrated songs, imo, and my favorite by them. You won't regret it. 👍🏻👍🏻
