Im definitely interested in creating a mod ive had in mind for starfield. Im wanting to make it myself and or with others but i have no skill or experience in modding.
Awesome dude! Please do consider making a few tutorials on: -Making a custom NPC -Making a custom POI -Making a custom Space Encounter (Eg, A customised Derelict ship) I played around in CE1 but I'm seeing a few differences, I'm by no means an expert in modding, Very much a beginner. But I've always wanted to create my own Encounters and Sci-fi is my jam! Subbed and bell'd for future videos!
Opened up the creation kit and was promptly intimidated! I'm looking to make an exciting overhaul for the Red Mile, so I'd love to see any tutorials you make in the future on how to use this tool. Also, it would be so friggin cool if Lucien somehow marooned himself in this universe after messing with dwarven artifacts haha.
One thing to note about selecting your mod from the Creations menu...you can't do it from a loaded game. You have to go into the Creations menu before loading/starting a game or after exiting a loaded game and then select Build Order at the bottom. From there you can activate your mod. Otherwise it's just a read-only list.
I’m so inclined to believe that Star Wars mods will completely replace the base Starfield that I’m making my own mods work for either universe. Using words like Galaxy instead of Universe or Multiverse, as an example.
@@Nuverotic I mean they've already done it for Morrowind have you ever heard of starwind a mod that completely replaces all of Morrowind with Star wars even all of the quests
@@Doyoueverwonderwhywerehere That's insane. lol. No I didn't know that. I loved Morrowind but haven't played it since it came out a long time ago. Never felt like it was worth modding since I had Skyrim and Fallout.

Just how it goes when you mod a game 🤷♂️. Would it be nice if Bethesda could find a way to not break mods? Sure, but I could only imagine that being impossible. Let's just hope when they "finish updating the game" they don't come back 5 years later and update it again.
@@justyce_yt well they actually could make it to where their updates don’t break the game, but they would have to literally hire the guy who makes the script extender to work for Bethesda and I doubt that’ll ever happen. I know Bethesda does hire sometimes, but that guy who makes the script extender makes bank on Patreon and probably doesn’t want to take a massive pay cut to go work for Bethesda
When accessing the Data directory, for me, the subfolder "scripts" was not yet created for some reason. Still, extremely helpful information! Thank you!
Hello Joseph. Thanks again for your great tutorials. I have a question regarding the unpacking of the .psc files within the "ContentResources.zip" file. When doing so, I have noticed several sub-folders within the "Scripts" folder of this .zip file. Is it alright to leave this folder structure as is and simply drag the entire contents of "ContentResources / Scripts" into my "Starfield / Data / Scripts / Source" folder, or do all of the .psc files from the .zip file need to be immediately within my "Source" folder (as I've seen said in another video elsewhere...waiting to hear from them as well)? If the latter is the case, upon trying to move all of the .psc files directly into my "Scripts / Source" folder, I'm prompted as to whether or not I want to overwrite 4 of these .psc files. I can ascertain from this that there are multiple instances of the following 4 files within "ContentResources.zip": QF_SFBGS003_BountyScannerQ_FD0066B3_2.psc QF_SFBGS003_BountyScannerQ_FD0066B4_2.psc QF_SFBGS003_BountyScannerQ_FD0066B5_2.psc QF_SFBGS003_BountyScannerQ_FD0066B6_2.psc What should be done regarding this? In addition, I have noticed at least one file within the "ContentResources / Scripts" folder (in one of the sub-folders) that is not in a .psc format (this file being "Scripts / Source / SFBGS003 / placeholder.txt"). What, if anything should be done with this file, and / or others like it? I appreciate your time and help. 🙂
@@JosephRussell So Im not crazy, awesome thankyou! lol As a side question do you think you would be able to make a video on converting static meshes into craftable outpost/ship decor items?
This was useful, thanks - why do people miss out nuggets like this from their "how to" guides? Unfortunately I still haven't found a way to turn my tweaked .esm file into an actual Mod with CK (or otherwise). If you know of a good resource, I'd love to hear about it
I see only very bright colorful boxes, but no in-world objects. Been trying to get something working, but only way I can actually see actual objects, and walls for example, is opening a interior. Now this might have something to do with the viewable things, but this is highly annoying to figure out. Can anyone tell me what to do to see everything properly?
Thanks for this quick tutorial. I don't want to create a box of sandwiches, instead I would like to mod the enemy health bar. Fallout 4 does not have enemy health bars. In some cases just red diamonds. That is what I want in Starfield. Where to start?
It allows the CK to access the script source files, which means you can create your own scripts and see the vanilla ones in the kit. It can't open the zip by itself.
@@JosephRussell interesting Because my characters a dark elf female and she hasn’t said anything about that also damn why can’t I bang my favorite British guy?
Thanks for the vid! I am very curious at how much you can make with the creation kit. Are you able to create gameplay systems with it? Like, potentially rework flight systems or add mechanics like dodging or shields? I'm a software dev so I'm not worried as much about coding or the difficulty of designing the systems, I'm just curious if it's possible with the CC.
Personally I've had just a couple crashes in around 10 hours but I think someone is already working on the creationkit fixes for starfield like it was in Skyrim. For now just make sure to save quite frequently so you won't lose too much progress.

Never made mods before, so I'm excited to finally play with Skyrim's and Starfield's Creation Kit! 🥳

I hope someone makes mods expanding the alternate universes, they are cool concepts but just used to make easy to play the story again.
Something like that is already under developement :D

Ah yes, I should have said! In general, you can't change anything about mods while you've got a save loaded.
I want to create my own mod and I have much to learn. I hope you do a tutorial series on how to use the creation kit and creating mods.
Probably eventually, but atm everyone is in the process of getting to know it.

Heya Joseph i was wondering if lucien might be making a comback anytime soon? I miss the series so bad

what does unzipping the scripts do? Does it just keep the CK or game from having to access the zip during use?
It allows the CK to access the script source files, which means you can create your own scripts and see the vanilla ones in the kit. It can't open the zip by itself.
Can you make a mod for xbox to allow the player to own 100, or more, ships
If i create a mod in creation kit on my notebook using starfield PC version i can use it on xbox?
Yes! But there are certain settings you'll need to use when exporting to make it compatible.
This is a very helpful tutorial. How many minutes for transferring the files to Source ? Thank you…
It really depends on your PC. For me it took a minute or so.
