Once you’re done with the albums/EPs, please react to some of her live performances as well. My personal recommendations are : God is a Woman @P3 Live (Ariana Grande cover) It Happened Quiet (Live at Nidarosdomen) Conqueror (Live From The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)
A lot of her songs are even better live. They carry so much emotion. Try th-cam.com/video/XXVwFvkNTEg/w-d-xo.html It's an hour concert, cool show. And my favorite recording of queendom: th-cam.com/video/uM8Wqfv5Jw8/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
Anyone notice in the first song “Runaway” of her first album, it says “now take me home” and the last song “Mothership” of the last album says “you are home”
I think it firstly refers to “come on let us take you home”, and “mothership will take you on higher” from “a different kind of human” in the same album :).
Churchyard is about an abusive relationship. "He told me I could leave, but I wouldn't get far" "He closed all the windows, as his anger broke free" "hate followed him gently, black seized in his heart, whos tearing the love in him apart?" "Please remember me and cry". When he tells her she belongs in a churchyard, he's telling her she'll be in a grave if she leaves
Hate followed him gently, plant seeds in his heart. Roots' tearing the love in him apart... I think that's the correct lyric, please don't get me wrong.
“He told me I belong in a churchyard” also refers to Hamlet. After being rejected by Ophelia(hamlets former lover), hamlet snaps, calls her a whore and tells her she belongs in a convent. From that perspective, it is also a comment on the legacy of the patriarchy and how men have silenced woman in scorn.
This album is such a poetic masterpiece: Queendom was written after Aurora's trip in Latin America. It's a song that celebrates differences between people and is meant to be a "safe place" for everyone. Forgotten love is about the beauty of not being in love and appreciating the feeling of being alone. Gentle Earthquakes is about s*x and All is soft inside is about the inner world of introverts and also more specifically about autism. It happened quiet is about murder or r*pe. Chyrchyard is about an abusive relationship and Soft Universe is about the pain of living.
wasn't forgotten love about letting go? I think she talked about it in an interview when she said she felt sad when she used to forget people she loved that had died
@@bannboleo she actually is too. i don’t remember where i saw it but i heard she was autistic as well....you can search it up if you’d like and prove me wrong though
fun fact: during her live performances she'll sometimes change the ending lyrics on the IOADK track to "this is the breath, We are the breath" which always causes me to burst into tears so
The Seed is probably my least favorite Aurora song... I love the message but the chorus is absolutely not it for me. Shame because the verses and bridge are amazing. Also, every time people tell her she is going to love something, it ends up on the bottom of her list, like It Happened Quiet
It Happened Quiet is connected to Murder Song and it’s 8 tracks long because her favourite numbers are 8 and 11. The 8th song on each album is her favourite.
Aurora said in an interview that she's continuously writing an album to be released after she passes so she can 'say something to the world after she's gone'. I believe she also said she's writing a song about/from each decade of her life, so she has 2 songs on that album already...
Aurora is absolutely the queen of write fictions story that are actually not so fictions!! (Lol) SHE is the real telling story queen! Btw when you realises that gentle earthquake is about sex is when you realises that she is a fucking genius of write musics with many meanings (like she also did in it happend quiet and murder song)
the intro from “Gentle Earthquakes” samples reversed lyrics from one of the songs from Step II, titled “Animal”. It says: “with a goddess...” and “weight upon my shoulders felt...” (Animal, 2019).
@Alisa White she did say that this song is a continuation of "murder song", from her debut. but aurora's songs are really meant to have different interpretations, i gotta say that. this song could be about rape, or suicide. who knows?
If you interpret it literally, someone threw their lover out of a window and killed her, and then her ghost came back to haunt his bed. But it does call to mind both murder and abusive relationships as well as r*pe. I think Aurora has talked about both types of interpretations?
Honestly, Aurora is the closest thing to a goddess, not because I see her as inhuman or something higher than human, but because she represents humanity as a sound and feeling that reminds me what humans are capable of. That out of body feeling where you are victim to the waves of emotion and raw note manipulation is not abnormal regarding Aurora. Her voice and capacity for human depth through song and lyrics are quite a feat. It's why I love her so much, she believes in humanity and never fails to show me why I matter to the world. Her music video "The Seed" was the first thing I ever saw from her and from that moment I was transfixed. "The Seed" Music Video is still the best music video I have ever seen and that has never changed. I do hope react to that because truly it is why I came to love her music. Many of her fans call her Mother Nature and hat out of body experience you get listening to her as she describes things of beauty and displaying points of view is something worth truly loving.🥰
@carnivall ah, looked up that word real quick. To some degree you may be right on that, but I will say I don't really have that idolizing image towards her. It's more along the lines of 'I know she is different than how she is on screen, but on screen this is the vibe she gives off'. Perhaps that only pushed parasocial vibes anyway. I just really love how music can make you feel, especially the ones that viscerally resonate with you and make you want to move. Maybe it's my maladaptive daydreaming that amplifies that feeling since I physical move and am stuck in imagery that music provides me? I'm not sure fully, but I guess I am now aware of parasocialism now so thank you? Haha
I am 49 years old and have listened to so much music in my life so far and hearing Aurora is an experience I never had with any other artist. She is very very special and I hope she remains true to herself throughout her career and I do believe she will.
I don’t know if you would be open to reacting to a concert by her, but her concerts Haik and live at Nirodesomen (however its spelt) are truly stunning and an ethereal experience, especially Infections of a different kind (the song) live at Haik. Takes the breathe away from me

Every time when I hear “In happened quite” I’m remembering the moment of my life when I felt like I’m just died. That moment was the moment of my biggest trauma. And it happened quite.
This video is kind of old and this may have been said before, but Aurora said that the sound in Gentle Earthquakes was supposed to "sound like an (TW: a bit inappropriate) orgasm." I'm not sure if the sound is supposed to mean anything but I just remembered this from her documentary (Once Aurora) while watching this and thought that I might as well point it out.
Last song "infections" I think she changed the last words to "This is the breath, We are the breath" on later performances. At least I heard that on a live performance.

About time, my friend. I'm so glad my second favorite artist EVER (Björk is my most favorite) is getting recognition, and we love to see it.
I started jumping of joy when I saw you posted this video! I love your reaction to Aurora aaaaaa 💫🤍🌞🧚🏼♂️
i love all is soft inside so much, i was there the first time she performed this one live and she wasn’t even close to releasing step 1 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Have to do Step 2 next.
Every time when I hear “In happened quite” I’m remembering the moment of my life when I felt like I’m just died. That moment was the moment of my biggest trauma. And it happened quite.
ok why did i cried like 4 times in this video, i've heard this a million times already
The album is about exploring and helping yourself. So when she said it made her breathe, then the album did the job well.
Love this reaction! Aurora is our QUEEN
YOUR HAIR IS SO BEAUTIFUL TODAY WOW
This video is kind of old and this may have been said before, but Aurora said that the sound in Gentle Earthquakes was supposed to "sound like an (TW: a bit inappropriate) orgasm." I'm not sure if the sound is supposed to mean anything but I just remembered this from her documentary (Once Aurora) while watching this and thought that I might as well point it out.
Last song "infections" I think she changed the last words to "This is the breath, We are the breath" on later performances. At least I heard that on a live performance.
I still think u should react to Aurora’s cover of Life On Mars
