Excellent the man! Love is knowledge of guitar.... finally. really Finally understand what I have been looking for. Over and over your vids do it every time. But i know you know. I just want you to know that I know you know I know! like sleep I can now really escape!! Brett Pa Pa.... what a word!
Great lesson! The way you demonstrated how to work the different pentatonic shapes from both the E string down or the A string in major or minor down truly opened up a purple porthole to Electric Ladyland! YEEEAAAAAHHHHHH
Best guitar lesson on TH-cam. Brett's the best instructor on the web. I've played Hendrix for years, but I come back to this all the time just to remind me the basics of his rhythm - all in a few freakin' minutes. The Stache is a genius
Hello Papastache.. , There are So many musicians who has bunch of knowledge but dont know how to make others understand.. But you & Marty makes so simple to understand complex things. Its makes us so easy to learn from you guys. Even my guitar playing has reached to next level watching your videos. You guys are doing a Good Job .. Making music fun to learn, so simple & easy to learn. Its AWESOME !! .. Thanks millions for all the efforts for the videos...
Awesome lesson man, thanks very much. I'm a piano player of 20 yrs and a guitar player of about 18 months. I was really scared to get my thumb involved because it looked like a lot of time and effort. This lesson got me playing some cool stuff immediately - now I can't stop doing it! There are a lot of great shredders, screamers and arpeggiators (?) on TH-cam but I always thought the creativity and flair of a great guitarist comes out when they're bopping in and out between chords like this. Gentleman!
Thank you my fine sir for being the first one to properly explain wich pentatonic scale goes to what chord and how to mess around with it, ill watch some more of your videos in a few weeks when ive gotten a hang of this! Big thumbs up for this lesson!!
I have been playing for 40 years. I’m a decent player, but have always been missing the melodic element to my soloing. I don’t read music, nor do I know theory. I never memorized scales, I just felt my way around and made stuff sound good, but I have always been dissatisfied with my soloing - it sounds the same after a while, unimaginative - doesn’t move me. I think these lessons and your CAGED lesson is the key to unlock what I have been missing. I have so much to still learn after all these years. I wish someone had turned me on to this a long time ago. Well done and thanks so much!
Very good video, thank you. Opened my eyes. The good thing is the many variations and improvisation ideas. This is much better for me than an exercise note by note.
I know you probably won’t see this message but you’ve helped me get through some real bad times with your amazing lessons! A real feel good factor!! Thanks mate
Hendrix style is my favorite and I've been doing it for years now. Every player wanting to do this style should take twenty of practice time for a few weeks and just do this over and over. So good for building up these chops
fantastic lesson. As someone who's been playing for a couple of years and is trying to start doing more than just learning songs, this is just what i need. This and your hard rock rhythm lesson mean I can actually just jam by myself and have it sound interesting and like i can actually play rather than just boring basic chord progressions.that someone who just picked up the guitar could play. Thanks so much I will definitely be checking out your other lessons.
Man I'm just mesmerized by your playing in the intro... I hope some day to be as good as you. Been playing for 4 months and been watching your videos the whole time, you're a great teacher.
In my quest to learn guitar, ive seen a lot of guitar instructors, but I always aleays come back to you Papastache because of your humor and I can always tell you're having fun. Great lesson!
There may be hope for me to change my playing habits after all. I wish I had this thing called TH-cam, along with great teachers like this when I was young. You rock chief.
i first saw you on Marty's channel and love him, but so stoked you have so many vids on your own channel. when u explain something youre clear and intelligent, its at the right pace for me, and your keeping it fun. luv u man!
This is superb, thank you. At the stage I am at, this is starting to make things drop into place. Nice that you have the HD option too as it just makes it crisp and clear too.
papastache102 Hi Papa!!! really great and usefull vid!!! Any possibility to have a backing track to practice all this??????? Come ooooon..... ;) Thanks anyway! Cheers from Spain
P-Stache..you da man and so is your partner M.S. Both you guys are Legendary teachers in music on my P.C....Going down in history...Thanks for the LESSONS..
great job man, I think the style actually originated with Curtis Mayfield...of whom Hendrix was an admirer..Hendrix built on that thing. Nice job explaining the style.
Great lesson, Brett! Simplified rhythm playing, mixing fills a rhythm in the major and minor Pentatonic boxes. Wish I had known about sort of science in the art of playing guitar 50 years ago when I was 16 instead of as a 36 year in 1990! Now reviewing this lesson before I recommend it to some young folks who say they are anxious to learn how to play, I can give it a 1000% endorsement. Super job, my friend!
Awesome man! Thanks for checking it out. I am doing a whole course on it right now in my subscription site. Going to cover a ton of stuff! Website link is on my channel page if you want to check it out!
You have an excellent approach to teaching the Jimi Hendrix style, not only do I come here to do your lessons, because your sound has got the real fluid beautiful liquidy feel I often find myself just listening to you play. Teaching the style and the mind set of what hendrix would play so much better than note for note because Jimi never played as you obviously know the same thing twice, the sound the tone that to me is what mr. Hendrix would want us to take away from his music. I have a good sized collection of live concerts I've been building since the 1970's and I remember thinking when I used to sit in front of the turntable set to 16 speed to slow it down grab the notes then raising it an octave after this is real composing. you capture that in your lessons. Thank you for composing for us. bill
awesome video! I watch tons of lessons online, marty, tim, justin, you... but keep finding myself coming back to these hendrix style lessons.. so fun to just turn on the amp and mess around with this style.... Keep on rockin Papa! Thanks for the lessons
Dude, this is without a doubt one of the best guitar lessons on TH-cam. I just discovered it and spent a half an hour or so but I can see I will need a week to take it apart. Thanks so much for sharing this -- you're an awesome guitarist and BTW I love your Strat!
Buttery rhythm playing Brett! Alot of ppl can do this, but theres a certain snap and flow you bring to the table. That most players dont have....As they would say back in the day Groovy!
fantastic lesson, thank you so much for that! i ve started to play guitar just to do this "bad ass heavy metal thing" (i was 15). 17 years later and a long break, Hendrix and Co are the reason, why my fingers are screaming for touching thin steel. you help me so much
you just opened my mind on building a scale based on chord and in reverse (if you get me). Know that I am forever gratefull for this, and other lessons from you. Thubs up!
Mr. Handlebars you my friend are an excellent teacher. Appreciate the information convoy here, i've picked up alot watching your videos. Thanks man, all the best.
Thanks for all you do! A lot of help to all of us players'!I'm just learning lead,at 57 years and I love Hendrix! My brother got to see Jimi and the experience ,back in 1968! I asked him,a few years' back, how they were.He said that they sounded as good,or better, than the album!!!Hendrix said "This P.A. sucks',man"! It was a house P.A. and not a very-good one.obviously!
After watching this video I feel like I've just leveled up my skills in a way that I've never felt in my 14 years of playing. I've always had trouble tying together lead and rhythm lines and this brings it all together. Thanks a ton, just subscribed and I hope to learn lots more.
So just watching this has steered me into potentially buying your 4 DVD set. I really dig hendrix and I find that you make teaching fun. Thanks Papastache.
Papastache is the most amazing player/instructor out there, not just on you tube.....compared also to the paid subscription sites!!! Been there!!! Listen closely too 19:08-20:25.......Papastache is unbelievable!!!! Check out all his material. ….subscribe, contribute you won't regret it. I have been learning fr m Papa's TH-cam lessons for over 2 years...I'm suffering from a wrist injury at the moment that has my guitar stuck on a hanger, but I'm still watching Papas videos..... Amazing man....keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing with the world!
Awesome tutorial!! After an 18 year hiatus from playing, this video really helped me get back in the proverbial groove. Well, this video, and my trusty book of scales and chords lol.

Exactly hat i thought, After 10 years playing
This upload may be a few years old, but it is still THE BEST slow-feel double stop Hendrix tutorial out there. How about a part 2 (and 3 and….)
Haha! Yeah I'm working up some more Hendrix stuff now. Thanks for tuning in!
Great.
In this “Lockdown” situation we all need a bit of inspiration...
Keep safe Papastache102.
