Writing With the Pilot Falcon - Elabo SEF vs the Kakuno EF - a Hands-on Comparison

Let's take a look at two very popular and very good fountain pens: the Pilot Kakuno EF and the Pilot Falcon in SEF (resin/rhodium trim). Now, it's important to note that these pens are not exactly in the same league in terms of design or materials used. The Falcon definitely justifies its higher price with its elegant design, high-quality build, and its semi-flex 14k gold nib. However, that doesn't mean the Kakuno falls short in any way. In fact, I want to show you that both of these pens are absolutely amazing when it comes to performance. They may differ in their outer appearance and in price, but when it comes to the writing experience, they both shine.
Want a pen that feels a bit more premium than the Kakuno but doesn't break the bank? There's the Pilot Prera. You can't get the Prera in extra fine but you can easily swap the Kakuno EF nib with the one that comes with it. It's also a super light pen and a joy to write with. Want something that feels heavier on the hand? The Pilot Metropolitan also takes Kakuno's nibs :)
