Awesome Video Chris. I have the Vertrix Controller (OC) and absolutely love it. Thanks to you! I bought an Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller after playing with the Vertrix (OC), and I couldn't do it. It was So So Slow. It felt like going from a Ferrari to a go-kart! I instantly returned the Xbox elite Controller. After overclocking your Controller, it will ruin you. Everything else will feel so slow. It's like going from a high refresh Monitor, down to 60hz!!!
    Thanks Chris
    Cheers 🍻

Hey Fr33thy, love your content man. But I figured out something recently, not sure if you’ve covered this, but I was having issues with my ps5 controller registering what I thought was double input or input lag even though it’s oc. Xinput was reading the input as 0.2ms so I didn’t think that was the issue. Then I read somewhere that audio sample bitrate being too high can cause peripheral input delay too! I turned it down to 16bit, and now things are fixed!

Ok so youve ruined my night. I use an xbox elite and did all the overclocking but have always wondered why it still feels clunky and super unresponsive and you have just debunked it. heartbreaking to be honest because i quite like the controller but yep, 7ms delay makes sense and im going to sus a gambit. I noticed using an Xbox 360 gamepad on PC felt a lot laggier than when I started up my PS3 for the first time in ages. I never got into any of this polling rate/overclocking stuff yet but out of the box the difference was huge, despite FPS on the PS3 being much worse, and having a very stable and fast gaming PC(10900K, NVMe etc). The difference in gamepad latency was clearly noticeable already without any tweaks.
EDIT: To be clear this was BEFORE watching this video and hearing that Playstation gamepads actually have lower latency(PS3 counts as well right, since it definitely felt more responsive).

This controller does not do 1000hz stable (at least the one I got). It shows .9 to 1ms delay but it jumps sporadically up to 8-9ms so the average ends up being 500hz even when set to 1000hz OC. It is however stable at 500hz with an average delay of 1.9 ms compared to the average 3.9 ms at 250hz straight out the box. So without even messing with anything this is still much better than regular xbox controllers but it falls slightly short of Playstation controllers with 1ms higher delay, but I'll take 500hz 1.9 ms delay over 125hz 8 ms like normal xbox controllers any day.

THEN adding 4 ms to 6x16ms makes NO difference. its WIN 10 and optimization of AAA games. battlenonsense showed how bad input delay is on games . god of war has 120 ms delay on ps5 out of the box and you can get it down to 45ms on win10, no matter the framerate. 4 ms improvement MAKES NO DIFFERENCE

Besides controller latency, remember also to try and keep your GPU utilization to below 97%. Battlenonsense has tested and proved that GPU utilization below that said point improves system latency by a very significant amount.
In other words, sometimes it's better to cap your framerate to 120fps instead of trying to hit 144 or 165 (by pushing your GPU to 99% utilization) eventhough the latter 2 refresh rates would have naturally lower input latency on paper.
