Beautiful. What is the reasoning for tube flies as apposed to tying the material on a hook? Never fished for Salmon so I have not a clue.

Hi Ross,
Tube flies are great to use as I use copper, alloy and plastic all different weights which can get you down to the depths when you need to,.I also like them as you can use a single, double or even a treble at the back depending on the rules of the water and country that you may fish..They also last much longer because if you damage the hook you can easily replace it and you fly is fine...I'm glad you liked it..

Have you ever been asked to do a video on thread types and why a person would choose to create a fly with a certain type of thread? What the advantages of Nylon are over say Silk, or polyester? or polyethylene, or whatever GSP is made of hah.

I have to be honest I am the worst person to ask to talk about threads as you may see that 99% of the time I'm using Uni-8/0 then when I'm tying midge pupa I'll use a UTC 70 thread and finally the traditional pearsall silks on classic style soft hackle wets..I've only every tried GSP once or twice but I felt I could tye with the threads I'm used to just as well or even better...I'm just stuck in my ways and too old to change now...great question though and thank you for asking..

First time I saw those tubes was last friday at my friends house, having a fly tying session. How do you like those. Looks like the hook won't sit the same as a regular tube.
