Yeah, I was too young to know what was going on at that time. I also don't vividly remember the pilot airing. What a shame, I would've voted for this. I watched this for the first time several years ago, and I always come back to it.
It ranked number two in the actual audience vote. You are just carrying water for executives that wrecked the channel bringing in such limitations that were never needed in the first place.
Such a shame this wasn’t green-lighted. 3 seconds in and I was already in love with the art style and characters. It’s so funny how Bobo has dogs for parents, it makes a fun dynamic! Maybe one day somebody will revamp this.
If Kids Next Door was really picked over this show, then I'm not exactly upset but this show had potential and I love the artstyle. but the creator of Kitty Bobo is trying to make a new pilot called Chloe and the Stars. I don't know if it's still up but I highly suggest people support it.
Kitty Bobo (2001) Welcome to Eltingville (2002) What do these two have in COMMON? #1 ... Cancelled #2. ... amazing, fresh, art style. #3.... really good humor and characters. #4 .. AMAZING voice actors. #5. - THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN LOVED.
I fell in love with this pilot. Thanks to the recommendations recommending this to me. I really wish Kitty Bobo had a chance to be a show it's so familiar to regular show.
What I think this pilot need was more character development, I mean The episode was just Bobo acting like a big shot with his phone, It's not bad but could use more of a polish. (But got to admit the girl cat was cute)
Spot on what I was thinking. The visuals of the show though are fantastic and would love to see this explored more even though they did show a quite a few places in this alone. It's a shame it didn't get picked up but from what we got out of it it wasn't bad.
Fr though, it's always so nice when a character with a really soft and "normal" sounding voice is in a cartoon like this. It's so out of place it's actually endearing.
For the past 7 or so years I’ve made sure to watch this short every year on my birthday. It’s easily my favorite cartoon pilot of all time and never fails to make me smile no matter what so I always save it for a special day, once a year. I love it that much! Adult Swim (it was new at the time iirc) should have picked this show up as-is because it would have been great competition for the other urban slice-of-life cartoons at the time. I still (foolishly) dream that it’ll become an indie web series or cute lil webtoon someday because it would still work today.
This show is so amazing!!! How haven't I seen this till now??? The animation and the style is so charming!!! I hope they can pick this show up again and give it the chance it desrves.
I love how this is such a short little pilot but so many have remembered it to this day. like it's vibe and design have stuck in peoples minds so well! I personally remember calling the voting number and picking this along with knd too! I would've loved this because when I was a kid, I dreamed of that city life, living in a loft, having a cool group of friends.
Would have loved to see how this show looked like if it was picked up. Although if Kitty Bobo was picked up today, the show would be modernised. Everything about this pilot screams 90s/2000s and I love it for that so taking that rough, urban, 90s/2000s feel away would ruin it imo. I'm just happy that someone recorded the pilot because things like this can become lost very easily. It would be cool if Cartoon Network did a pilot marathon of old pilots to see if the audience now are interested in any of them.
I remember when this aired going up against KND. Looking back at it now I realized that this was ahead of it's time. This could definitely be a show today on CN.
Oh man this show just screams Parappa minus the rapping and the protagonist being a Cat. The art style alone is worth a series but the dorky "cool" characters just burn with style. Why didn't this Win! *Sob* *Sob*
I remember enjoying this and wanting it to become a series. I was also inspired by the unique choices in the art style & the cut outs in the end credits. It’s so cool to finally find this.
Everything about this is amazing. I especially love the designs and the artstyle. This is another example of why anthropomorphic characters are a great choice for cartoon characters
This cartoon was really ahead of the curve in it's storytelling. I feel like if it was pitched around 2010 it would've been accepted, as it rightfully should've been.
I loved the concept for "The Summoning" from Cartoon Hangover and "A kitty bobo show" from Cartoon Network, they're both such cute concepts and Kitty bobo is SO of it's time with such a unique charming art style
+Isaac Argesmith Not as much. Since everyone owns one now it's not as big as a deal when someone sees that you now have one as well. Nowadays even 6 year old kids have a cellphone... Soon people aren't going to believe that kids could "survive" without a cellphone.
Didn't know Zuko/Jake Long did voice acting this early. Also like how it subtley did a "don't text and drive/bike" before cell phones were super common and we were having a huge spike in car accidents involving cell phones.
Dante Basco really brought his distinct V.O. workgame thanks to this pilot but alas, this show was relatively premature in presentation. At least we got him to do Zuko and Jake Long in the long run.
I enjoyed this. Like many others in the comments, I wish this would’ve been picked up but it was absolutely ahead of it’s time. Kitty Bobo would’ve been a great teen show

Dang, I was 6 when this came out. Now I'm turning 21 and I can relate to these characters. There aren't that many shows that have actually "cool" characters. Other shows just try waaay too hard. Something about their interactions seem so honest and realistic. I really like that about this pilot. The interactions seem so genuine.
Yes^
Roxlyn166 dude. same. I wish someone could pick up this show. the interaction with the characters look so fucking natural and well executed. also. Maggie is a nice waifu
it's funny cuz I'm also turning 21 this year and I don't remember watching this and I'm sure I would've tried to vote for this and knd
Yeah, I was too young to know what was going on at that time. I also don't vividly remember the pilot airing. What a shame, I would've voted for this. I watched this for the first time several years ago, and I always come back to it.
Roxlyn166 same here iam 22 years old
This show wasnt necessarily funny but boy is it entertaining to watch...
So smooth on the eyes and nice to listen to the BGM
Why wasn't it necessary?
@@Cacowninja they're not calling it unecessary, they're saying even though it's not that funny it's still enjoyable
@@CaptainCynica1 Sorry I meant why wasn't it necessarily funny?
I hate typos!
This animation is such an incredible time capsule there’s no way writers can make something like this today
A KITTY BOBO SHOW

*I can see why kids didn't want to see more of this.*
That's not to say it's bad, it's just not very appealing to Cartoon Network's demographic.
Should of went for a teenage demographic if you ask me
mmh, yeah, but i can see myself watching this. KND sucked in my opinion and i am disappointed that this lost to KND
Why?
It ranked number two in the actual audience vote. You are just carrying water for executives that wrecked the channel bringing in such limitations that were never needed in the first place.
This show was like, 15 years too early. It's a shame. In the modern CN climate, this would've done great.
I haven't seen this in AGES! I remember watching this on TV when it first aired! Thanks for uploading.
Kitty Bobo is boring and would’ve been cancelled after one season. Kids Next Door deserved to be picked over it.
@@ChristHoon like we care what u think

holy shit,i knew it...thats Donte Basco!
Such a shame this wasn’t green-lighted. 3 seconds in and I was already in love with the art style and characters. It’s so funny how Bobo has dogs for parents, it makes a fun dynamic! Maybe one day somebody will revamp this.
Bobo was adopted.
I remember when cell phones came out. It was just amazing to be able to talk to anyone, anytime.
Just realized that the voice of Prince Zuko and Jake Long was Kitty. Took a bit to hear but there was no mistaking that voice.
Dude thanks you!!! The entire time I watched this I was trying to remember where I heard that voice before!!
If Kids Next Door was really picked over this show, then I'm not exactly upset but this show had potential and I love the artstyle. but the creator of Kitty Bobo is trying to make a new pilot called Chloe and the Stars. I don't know if it's still up but I highly suggest people support it.
Susana Almeida knd was 1st and kitty boba was 2nd
Kitty Bobo (2001)
Welcome to Eltingville (2002)
What do these two have in COMMON?
#1 ... Cancelled
#2. ... amazing, fresh, art style.
#3.... really good humor and characters.
#4 .. AMAZING voice actors.
#5. - THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN LOVED.
+FlashyFox2001 both were not canceled, they just were not picked up
They are likeable in their own way, sorry.
That my opinion is wrong.
FlashyFox2001 opinions are never wrong
I feel the same way!!!!!!!!!
This pilot had so much potential and it's a crime it never got greenlit.

20 years since the greatest thing to grace the airwaves came out
but a loser to knd
@rusty mug I agree this is the best pilot I’ve ever seen
Edit:Well one of them
Just got recommended this video
reminds me of how normal things were before I was born xD
@@shrippie-4214 Wonder what ya mean by normal.
Sucked that this had to fend off against Codename Kids Next Door. I would have loved for this to be a full series too
me too
I mean I love KND it is such a good cartoon. Shame we couldn't have both KND and Kitty Bobo
@@UrFavoriteZombie This pilot isn't even good though it would have gotten boring really fast Regular Show did this better
I love that Bobo was beefing with Graffiti. Most cartoons would have him be a fanboy.
I fell in love with this pilot. Thanks to the recommendations recommending this to me. I really wish Kitty Bobo had a chance to be a show it's so familiar to regular show.
Same
It’s so trippy watching this in 2021. We all have smart phones now and this feels so dated.
That's why Knd won the 2001 big pick
@@ChristHoon This has nothing to do with Kids next door winning. You are one salty kid eh?
Watched this when it first aired. That closing theme is a banger!
What I think this pilot need was more character development, I mean The episode was just Bobo acting like a big shot with his phone, It's not bad but could use more of a polish.
(But got to admit the girl cat was cute)
You think Bobo and her might be dating?
Spot on what I was thinking. The visuals of the show though are fantastic and would love to see this explored more even though they did show a quite a few places in this alone.
It's a shame it didn't get picked up but from what we got out of it it wasn't bad.
Maggie is cute
@@Rebel_Railroad_Productions possibly.
I need this, and I wish this actually got a show. I would of seriously loved it as a kid. Definitely gives off teen vibes.
I absolutely adore this art style
After all these years, I still think this should have been a show. A lot potential wasted.
***** cartoon network would probably be different today tbh lol
My god this dog guy is so adorable his voice is so sweet
Fr though, it's always so nice when a character with a really soft and "normal" sounding voice is in a cartoon like this. It's so out of place it's actually endearing.
It’s Jake Long and Zuko
I love the idea of this show
And I hate that dumpster Fire idea
Those little paws are so precious! If this pilot was made just a decade later it would've been greenlit for sure!
if this became a full show i guarantee it wouldve changed my life
I never knew about this show, but I really love the art style
There’s something about the end credits and it’s theme that’s very hypnotic. Love it.
It’s an amazing instrumental
Man this would have fit perfectly on Adult Swim. This pilot is a time capsule of its era.
agreed.
It’s worth mentioning that just a couple of weeks after the contest would be the day we will never forget…
Aaaand it’s my birthday today so I’m back :D
@@akilreid9476 it would worked as a adult swin show. a slice of life cartoon.
@@dr3w399 Definitely! It fit the vibe of Adult Swim perfectly and would have been such a chill little show. What could have been...
This show is so amazing!!! How haven't I seen this till now??? The animation and the style is so charming!!! I hope they can pick this show up again and give it the chance it desrves.
Thanks to Meagan Dunn (Original Caracthers) and Kevin Khalier (Original Storyboarder and Background Maker )
The artstyle is really a vibe, makes me want it to be a show even more. Bobo is also an enjoyable character IMO
Honestly it’s so sad this never became a full series. I really love the artstyle and setting of this pilot…
Insane how I remember seeing this debut in 2001. I remember coming home from Kindergarten in NYC.
Now its 20 years later since that Debut.
yep. i remember when it was on TV and i wanted to cast a vote real bad for it but i didn’t own a computer. i was 6 years old and poor
Thank god it loses to Knd

I remember when this aired going up against KND. Looking back at it now I realized that this was ahead of it's time. This could definitely be a show today on CN.
God, this is how far back my memories go. I have this show stuck at the back of my head ever since I was toddler
Oh man this show just screams Parappa minus the rapping and the protagonist being a Cat. The art style alone is worth a series but the dorky "cool" characters just burn with style. Why didn't this Win! *Sob* *Sob*
PARAPPAAAKLJHUKSHHJLOIUFUFGDF

I remember enjoying this and wanting it to become a series. I was also inspired by the unique choices in the art style & the cut outs in the end credits. It’s so cool to finally find this.
I cannot begin to describe how deeply sad I am this show didn’t get picked
Everything about this is amazing. I especially love the designs and the artstyle. This is another example of why anthropomorphic characters are a great choice for cartoon characters
This is literally my dream art style.
Kitty Bobo should have challenged Graffiti to an Agni-Kai.
This cartoon was really ahead of the curve in it's storytelling. I feel like if it was pitched around 2010 it would've been accepted, as it rightfully should've been.
Man, i really love the design and art style of this cartoon
I loved the concept for "The Summoning" from Cartoon Hangover and "A kitty bobo show" from Cartoon Network, they're both such cute concepts and Kitty bobo is SO of it's time with such a unique charming art style
I'm watching this on my cell phone.

Back when you wanted to bitch slap those ignorant niggas that kept them on during the movie.
HashUpAshole Isn't that still a thing though?
So true.
+Isaac Argesmith Not as much. Since everyone owns one now it's not as big as a deal when someone sees that you now have one as well.
Nowadays even 6 year old kids have a cellphone...
Soon people aren't going to believe that kids could "survive" without a cellphone.
Eureka did you predict the future
Didn't know Zuko/Jake Long did voice acting this early. Also like how it subtley did a "don't text and drive/bike" before cell phones were super common and we were having a huge spike in car accidents involving cell phones.
Dante Basco really brought his distinct V.O. workgame thanks to this pilot but alas, this show was relatively premature in presentation. At least we got him to do Zuko and Jake Long in the long run.
Eeyup.
I enjoyed this. Like many others in the comments, I wish this would’ve been picked up but it was absolutely ahead of it’s time. Kitty Bobo would’ve been a great teen show

All I hear is Zuko on the phone
+22freedom33 The only reason why you hear Zuko on the phone is because the person who voices Zuko also voices Kitty Bobo. ;)
Melissa Vazquez yeah I know :)
To those who don't know yet, the story behind why Bobo has dogs for parents is because it's based on Kevin Kaliher's life who is Korean but was adopted by his American parents. It's kinda cute actually.
moggfree Meaghan Dunn, who also created this and did the artwork for this is a Korean adoptee too.
Well, that explains a lot.
