Kamino is my favorite planet because of the cloning facilities and reminded me of my childhood. My home was by the pier, so during typhoons, I watched thunderstorms raging over the sea, which is similar to Kaminoan storms. In addition, my gvernment did something similar to what the Empire did to Tipaco City to my home.

Was it like Randallofe Tarkin's forces in the last battle of the Stark-Hyperspace War where only a 3rd of each actually made it?
They explain this in the Essential Guide to Warfare. Basically, the Empire funded a bunch of astro-engineers to artificially create a hyperspace route from Sullust system to the Endor system. I'd recommend looking it up it is called the Sanctuary Pipeline.

This is why Disney screwed up... The expanded universe was the future of Star Wars, not a brand new trilogy. No need for bringing old characters back, the expanded universe did so much to give older characters their place without actually requiring them to be present that both past and future were equally preserved by the present.
