I would really love to see the Kaleesh in the Rebellion and/or New Republic eras. How they feel about the New Republic, a new government or just a repeat of the one that abused them? How would Luke's new Jedi interact with them after what the old Jedi did? What did the Kalee do with their own force sensitives? Are there any Kalee colonies or populations still out there in the wider galaxy? Could be some interesting stories to tell.
I could just imagine Thrawn struggling to understand the Kaleesh's art, like some freshman cramming for finals week. "This isn't ART! THIS IS YOUR GRANDFATHER'S SHIN BONE TAPED TO THE CARAPACE OF A GIANT BUGS HAND!"
Imagine if Grievous was force sensitive he would be so powerful even with out body enhancements like in the movies. Also I believe that the Kaleesh could have their own movie like for example Grievous being the demigod like figure in his society fighting the Yamrii and how he became a cyborg.
It's likely that Grievous _was_ Force Sensitive, seeing as he had prophetic dreams. Though with the loss of Ronderu and then later, like, 90% of his body his connection to the Force was likely severed or weakened severely.
FINALLY, someone recognizing the truth! I really want a series centering around Qymaen jai Sheelal's story. I have for a while. Like... It's frankly distressing how much I admire his character. And my distaste for his interpretation in the 2008 Clone Wars, especially compared to Genndy Tartakovsky's version in the 2003 Clone Wars series.
So wait, those were just skull masks? I thought their species was just so awesome they were just naturally had skulls for faces. I mean to be fair, we've seen a fair share of species with weird biology, so people with actual skeleton faces wouldn't be that surprising.
I thought it was there Genetics as well, but it became badass to me once i realized that they NEVER took them off to the point that we thought it was apart of them.
Every villain has a story that explains why they did what they did. As a star wars fan, I didn't know a lot about General Grievous' backstory so this was nice to see!
So I think it would be super awesome if Disney would allow for the major supporting characters to be explored in films or shows. Imagine watching a season or two of General Grevious's journey to the Grevious we see in the clone wars.
Yeah, but that movie failed more from the depiction of the story arc rather than the content itself. Poor selection of the majority of actors and too much of a new age feel alienated the fan base. I was thinking more along the lines of a gritty tv show similar to something like the Mandalorian than Han Solo
Don't underestimate slugthrowers! Most Star Wars tech has been developed to counter energy weapons, so a ballistic weapon has many advantages. Also can be suppressed and is much harder to counter with a lightsaber.

Grandson: You will not know me but I know you, you are the apprentice of Obi-wan Kenobi, are you not. Luke: Yes, he was my first Master. Grandson: Good, then do you know of the one known as General Grievous? Luke: Yes, he was a cyborg Kaleesh that led the CIS during the clone wars and was killed by Obi-wan nearing its end, but what dose this have to do with us? Grandson: Before he was made a machine, he sired many children, some were believed to have been killed, but some survived and had children of their own, I am the grandchild of his seventh wife. Luke: So, this is about revenge? Grandson: It is, but not in the way you expect, Your master is dead, honour demands I kill his child or successor, as you were his apprentice, that is you, but your actions here today, you saved my people and drove the empire from our home, to kill you after helping us would be a disgrace, with that scar, the debt is paid. Luke: Your grandfather may not be seen favourably by the rest of the galaxy, but I understand the pride you put into your heritage, and I'm happy to see you can put it aside for the good of your people, I do sense great power in you, you have the force? Grandson: Yes, I have survived the empire's attempts to find me, even those Inquisitors could not capture me, I have lived with my power for many years, despite the history of my people and the jedi, I would he honoured to join your order. Luke: I leaned what the old republic and jedi did to your people, what they did that drove your Grandfather to become what he was, it was a disgrace, but hopefully with time, like the wounded you inflicted, things between us can heal. (offers his hand) Grandson: (takes the hand and shakes)

@@thirdplanet4471 A highly unlikely case if Kalee is actually as hostile as depicted here. Diversity flourishes only when living conditions are conducive. Growing up with the Clone Wars cartoon shorts with Grievous left a huge impression on me and became the gateway to just binge reading Wookiepedia articles on him and the Kaleesh. Theyre pretty much constantly living on nightmare survival mode with less resources and more fighting than most planets with sentient races, but have clearly been made unbreakable because of it. Makes sense why Grievous had it in him to survive for so long.
Awesome and useful video. Only thing i'd like to add is, that Mimban also resisted the empire for a very long time. I think it was also for ten years. Pretty much the same time as Kaleesh.
They should make a tv series about this. It would be awesome to see things from grievous point of view and see him as a true warrior rather than the coward we see him as in the clone wars.

The fact that Grievous is a God to his people satisfies me to heaven and beyond.
Yeah that's sounds awesome for a new story
Before the clone wars:
"Hello there"
"Padawan Kenobi, your master is a chad one"
I could just imagine Thrawn struggling to understand the Kaleesh's art, like some freshman cramming for finals week.
"This isn't ART! THIS IS YOUR GRANDFATHER'S SHIN BONE TAPED TO THE CARAPACE OF A GIANT BUGS HAND!"
I listened to the entire general grievous backstory and now this. Man ... huge respect to grievous.
He was the last Khaleesh slave.
Kaleesh: the Fremen of the Star Wars Universe.
The mandalorians after watching this video: I would like to make an alliance
Imagine Grievous in a beskar body.
@@dalekrenegade2596 well then god help the jedi
@@neonbatteries4389 Worst part is, God doesn't technically exist in Star Wars, so...shit
@@derektoews5586 what about force? Oh wait i forgor 💀... The force would be satisfied cause there were too many light siders at the time.
I haven’t been able to find anything about the kalesh and I’m glad that u made this they truly are the most badass Star Wars species
General Grievous: Patriot, Jedi killer, great fighter.
In two words: total badass
Imagine if Grievous was force sensitive he would be so powerful even with out body enhancements like in the movies. Also I believe that the Kaleesh could have their own movie like for example Grievous being the demigod like figure in his society fighting the Yamrii and how he became a cyborg.
It's likely that Grievous _was_ Force Sensitive, seeing as he had prophetic dreams. Though with the loss of Ronderu and then later, like, 90% of his body his connection to the Force was likely severed or weakened severely.
This is what I mean they can do so much with the star wars universe besides ooo Jedi make object go woosh.
There is 2 part series that covers the story in detail.
He tried to make himself Force-sensitive by transfusing blood from Jedi Master Syfo Dias. That it didn't work he considered a major personal failing.
Than I recommend the fanfiction "A single decision". A Grievous centered story with his past as Qymaen being one of the important plot points.
when your favourite TH-camr posts a video about your favourite characters species: **Visable happiness**
This is why I understood Grevious and why he hated the Jedi. Don't blame him one bit.
So wait, those were just skull masks? I thought their species was just so awesome they were just naturally had skulls for faces.
I mean to be fair, we've seen a fair share of species with weird biology, so people with actual skeleton faces wouldn't be that surprising.
I thought it was just an exoskeleton type thing
I thought it was there Genetics as well, but it became badass to me once i realized that they NEVER took them off to the point that we thought it was apart of them.
Every villain has a story that explains why they did what they did.
As a star wars fan, I didn't know a lot about General Grievous' backstory so this was nice to see!
So I think it would be super awesome if Disney would allow for the major supporting characters to be explored in films or shows. Imagine watching a season or two of General Grevious's journey to the Grevious we see in the clone wars.
they did that with Han Solo and it bombed so they stopped :P
Yeah, but that movie failed more from the depiction of the story arc rather than the content itself. Poor selection of the majority of actors and too much of a new age feel alienated the fan base. I was thinking more along the lines of a gritty tv show similar to something like the Mandalorian than Han Solo
Don't underestimate slugthrowers! Most Star Wars tech has been developed to counter energy weapons, so a ballistic weapon has many advantages.
Also can be suppressed and is much harder to counter with a lightsaber.
Kaleesh are absolutely rad! I have a few oc’s on stand by that love taking the piss out of mandalorians. Its strange how pretty much none of the other species that can rival a Wookiee and transdoshan strength get shown too often…cept maybe lassats?4:22 PFFT! The republic pulled a krogan maneuver with the kaleesh?? That’s priceless!
Imagine being so outmatched by a bunch of angry guys with swords that you have to nuke just to win.
Hmm, you forgot about the reason as to how and why he became a cyborg: all it took was the recent addition to the Lost Twenty, the death of a certain Jedi several years back, a simple shuttle crash, and blood transfusions from said certain Jedi.
"Ok good news, I just took out one of their demi gods so their morale should be crippled."
"Wait which one did you kill?"
"The female, why?"
"... God help us all."
damn grievous's species' story is kinda just sad, the corrupt republic just didn't give a shit about them.
Man, imagine if the Kaleesh had joined the Rebel Alliance instead? They would have destroyed the Empire much sooner.
The Alliance to Restore the Republic was only formally created in 2BBY, so about 7 years after the Kaleesh joined the Empire.
@@estebson So? They could have still joined the Rebel Alliance later, am I right?
@@samuelebincoletto637 Like the video said, they came to respect the Empire in some way for their resilience and when they joined, they were allowed a degree of autonomy on themselves. So they probably saw no need for them to then join a Rebellion.
@@estebson Good point but i still love the idea of the Kaleesh joining the Rebel Alliance, i also find it kind of fitting since they have been opressed for so long.
You know your winning when thrawn gets confused
When even Thrawn doesn't know how the frick he can perfectly beat a species.
The kaleesh have always been my favorite species and always will be. They need to be featured on Disney plus in some way again.
Kaleesh are just the spiritual descendants of the Mando species
Bitch are you serious 😂 ? The mandalorian are like bobcats compared to the tigers that are the kaleesh.
And less genocidal
Now I want to see the kaleesh throw down against the noghri. The wookees can referee.
I wish General Grevious backstory made it onscreen show or movie. Especially show. HUGE missed opportunity in clone wars
I had an Idea that Grievous dose have some surviving family like grandchildren, and one grandson was force-sensitive, the idea is Luke Skywalker ads the new-republic in liberating the Kaleesh home world and as Luke, Han and Leia negotiate with the ruler of the Kaleesh, the grandson attack Luke with a throwing disc weapon that he summons back with the force, Luke was scared in the back but it was not fate and he got back up fine, some Kaleesh bodyguards were ready to attack the grandson before Luke asked them to stand down and talked with him
Luke: Who are you?
(offers his hand)
Grandson: (takes the hand and shakes)
the kaleesh are the most amazing badass spieces ever
We need one of these guys in a TV show
I'd love to hear more of the Kaleesh, if there is any more to tell. They are a very interesting and badass species
Somehow, I can see the alliance made of the Kaleesh, the Mandalorians and the Geonosians work.
That my friend, would be the most fearsome force the galaxy has ever seen.
It’s just a big group of clannish warrior peoples who don’t like being told what to do by outsiders. I assume we can throw in the Togorians with the rest of the Mandalorians. Might as well toss in the Cathar while we’re at it
@@michaelangelomaimone3181 Not sure throwing in the Cathar with the Mandalorian is a good idea since the former might still have some grievances with the latter committing acts of genocide against them a long time ago.
Don't forget the wookies
@@alejandroelluxray5298 or the droids attacking them
The art depicting the Kaleesh is very inconsistent, with either reptilian, bat like, or human like faces. They are also depicted as either digitigrade or plantigrade. What's canon?
I like to think its species diversity. For example, in our world we have skin color differences and ethnic background can influence our looks.
I’m pretty sure the look they had in Grievous’ story is canon, I just can’t see them with lizard like heads.
@@thirdplanet4471 A highly unlikely case if Kalee is actually as hostile as depicted here. Diversity flourishes only when living conditions are conducive. The way their planet is out to fuck them like all the time & their people constantly at war with each other, not to mention their fanatical & rigid adherence to their respective martial cultures, such vast biological differences would have long been eliminated before the greater galaxy would even come into contact with them.
There is no Canon, in legends they were reptilian but once disney got their disgusting fingers into the SW franchise they can now change it as they see fit
@codas Soundwave asking the hard facts.
Mandalorians vs Kaleesh, hand on hand combat...oh boy
So it was the Kaleesh Thrawn omega ordered! This is a tactician bar none, Sussed out Vader was Anakin by his space fighting pattern, a man who routinely out maneuvered enemy strategists as if walking across the room, so intelligent even Darth Sidious made him one of 13 grand admirals despite not being human, and only executed subordinates only when it was egregious incompetence. Mad props to the Kaleesh for stymieing the greatest tactical mind in millenia.
I want to see the Kaleesh and Dathomirian Zabraks go at it. It would be a good war
The republic trying to assert their dominance over every species they come into contact with even if it means tricking other species into starting fights with each other. I want to see a movie about the Kaleesh.
They truly are badass!
In fact, I'm trying to come up with a novel (or perhaps a trilogy) involving them some time after the Second Galactic Civil War.
Oh how geopolitics never change, not even after they become intergalactic politics
some of the most honoured Jedi were Kaleesh
Imagine if they became/Joined with Mandalorians. If both parties were not badass enough as it was, they would be after the fact.
Only rivaled by the Mandolorians in Badassness
General Grievous had always been my favorite. Never knew this bad ass back story. I just thought he looked cool. Now I Kno he freaking rocked
General Grievous is my favourite character in star wars because he looks cool and is a badass ( yeah Vader, Maul, Dooku and the Senate himself were too 😂), I have enjoyed so many of you're vids and often rewatch them and I yes I do hope you'll make more Grievous vids in the future 🤞🤞
"Impregnable armor" I mean, it was pretty pregnable when he went up against Obi-Wan Kenobi right before Order 66
Not exactly. Kenobi pried the armour apart at the thorax to get a clean shot at the organ sac. The armour would have held.
It's nice to know that grievous and his people had a happy ending.
Yeah. The Kaleesh are an indomitable people you can't help but respect.
Almost every other space-species in galaxy : we got LaZoRs
Kaleesh: We have good ol' blades and Guns. And they work great.
Would have been great to see more of the Kaleesh. Like their ten year resistance against the Empire. Eat your heart (or equivalent organ) out Rebels.
Filoni: A moustache twirling villain "tips fedora"

This entire species was literally to angry to die
They should make a tv series about this. It would be awesome to see things from grievous point of view and see him as a true warrior rather than the coward we see him as in the clone wars.
Even in the Old Republic era the Kaleesh would make the Taung blush with how absolutely testosterone filled they are.
Now this is a show I would watch.
Grievous is my favorite character from starwars like absolute favorite
One more reason why grievous should have been more intimidating.
I also recall reading somewhere that the Kaleesh are widely considered one of the most attractive species in the galaxy.
These guys are badass they managed to scare the shit out of the empire, mad respect
Maybe a new movie idea for the franchise could be one set after the fall of the last emperial hold outs, where a kaleesh warrior is born as a force user and starts to expand their new kaleesh kingdom as a god, and a band of heros have to stop them.
to answer the question at the end of the video...yes, more about the kaleesh!
Best thing about lore videos is that in a few years I’ll forget and find this video again to experience it again
You neglected to mention Gor, Grievous' emotional support roggwart.
How did the Yuuzhan Vong view the Kaleesh? With the Wookiees, they wouldn't invade Kashyyyk because they didn't want to fight them in their own turf.
9:37 WHO SHALL TURN HELL INTO HEAVEN; AND YOU, MY FRIEND, YOU TRANSFORM HEINOUS VILLIANS INTO VALIENT HERO'S. WELL DONE! NOW...ONLY TO STOP THE SPILLING OF BLOOD NO MATTER THE COLOR, NEEDLESSLY? WHERE'S MERLIN!?!
If Grevious was once an excellent marksman, imagine if he'd gotten his robo-mitts on that weird lightsaber rifle that Jocasta in addition to his Cybernetics. Anti-Jedi Aim-bot.
Grievous is one of my favorite characters
So glad I found this! Love the content and time you put into these videos!
Ah yes, the fearsome Kaleesh.
From the planet Caylee..
Grievous is a really cool character, so it's nice that his people remember him fondly, even if to everyone else he's just a psychopathic war criminal.
