you can tear up alot of ground with your box blade, drop all the tines down and turn your center link to rotate the box forward, that will let your tines dig deeper. after you get everything dug up, then rotate it back to level and clean it up. i just got my box blade last year and it's been awesome to use for the same type of work you guys are doing.

With new property if you haven't seen it during a heavy flooding rain and aren't sure which way or how the water flows, it might be a good idea to put a culvert in any decent sized low spot that you level out or fill in. How rocky is the ground back where you planted the little cedar tree close to the fire pit rocks? If not too rocky a bit closer to the creek would be a good spot to put in a Hand pump well. I've left you all links for the parts and how to install one. Give you water sooner rather than later.

Read your instruction manual guys. Should be a "float" option on the hydraulic's a.k.a Draft Control so up/down don't have to be manually adjusted every second. When you get it set it'll skim the ground without gouging. It also helps to drag across a big section then drag on 45° angle to previous trips, then change again. Best wishes!
