Hi, on internet some people said that fiberglass bow loose poundage. You built this bow about one month ago, did you find this bow loose poundage? Please check it's current poundage and see if it is still the original number. Thank you.
I think that i a myth, after years of use never notice that any of my fiberglass bows loose draw weight, even bows that have been strung for years, the draw weight is the same
Hi, i used fiberglass from aliexpress, just type fiberglass cloth tape, its nothing special, fiberglass cloth 200g/m2 plain weave, any type of fiberglass cloth will work… Epoxy is some German brand named Skresin, i have it available near me, but any lower viscosity laminating epoxy would work, for example West System or easy composites, even epoxy ea40 if you heat it a little bit to lower viscosity
It's a fantastic video. I would like to make a bow similar to yours. But in your video, I didn't see the details of how the two pieces of efg get connected. Would you kindly post a short video to show how they get connected in details? Thank you very much.
Thanks! Soon i will make another bow similar to this, and film with more details…I just glue pieces in the middle, they join in the pipe of takedown sleeve so there is no stress on joint
@Helmbowman Yes I agree just a touch of back set or deflex for smoothness. You are a brilliant bowyer. Nobody else is doing anything close to that in short bow. If they are there is no cut in shooting window to give more of a centershot.
You tapered the tip of your limb, can you tell me the width of the tip of your limbs? I plan to make a bow similar to this one. I want to taper the limbs while also ensuring that the limb tips do not break under full draw weight.
The limb is 30mm at the fades and does not taper till mid limb, them it starts to taper to 20 mm at the beginning of static tips and for next 50mm it rapidly tapers to 14mm and continue to taper gradually to 10mm at the nocks. The thickness to static tips is 8mm
This bow is wonderful, master. What did you use as adhesive? The explanations are a bit inadequate. Where can I get the materials? Or do you make and sell?
Thanks a lot, for adhesive i use epoxy EA 40, but you can use any good quality epoxy that is available to you, fiberglass and carbon strips i order from aliexpress.

Need some insight, I'm making a similar bow and considering spiral wrapping the recurve portion of the bow about 26 cm / 10 in with carbon fiber to strengthen and keep it from delaminating. Is there a point to this? Any reason not to do it? The target weight it's about 44lbs , using 4mm efg 130cm long
If its non working recurve like this in my video, there is no need, but if its a working recurve, you can do that… I like to overbuild everything so i does wrapping even on some static recurves 😂 it adds little bit of weight, but not enough to hurt performance.
@@Helmbowman thank you I'll give it a go my last one delaminated so I made sure that there was absolutely no unglued voids and it looks good but this time I want to over build to make sure. Hoping to try again with your method. Thanks for being thorough with the videos showing how to build that part in your other videos.
@@Helmbowman just one last question you think it's ok to use normal cheap fibre glass epoxy for the wrap? The one I use for the bow seems too thick and too expensive..😁
@@jarchdm Its ok to use that, you can brush on epoxy on portion of the bow that you want to wrap, and than wait some time for epoxy to become really tacky, that wrap dry carbon fiber strand, and now you can brush new epoxy over it.
