    ORIGINALLY RELEASED April 2020 -
    30 years removed from the era when both Robert “Chief” Parish and Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell were roaming the parquet together, and winning titles, they reunite for a looooong discussion on CLNS Media.
    Cornbread has become a master at turning a formal interview into a casual discussion and it shows no better than in this podcast episode with one of his closest friends and the man he dubbed, “The Chief.”

    04:45 - Len Bias

    Appreciate the straightforward, but truly respectful, insights and reminicing of Robert Parish. He's been there, done that, no need to call it any differently. Nothing but 100% respect for the talent and professionalism of Robert "Chief" Parish and the role he played along side Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell, Kevin "Torture Chamber" McHale and Larry "Legend" Bird, arguable the best frontline in NBA history. 👍🐐👍
    Thanks for this great interview!

    Chief ran the court as well as any center in NBA history! That man would run other guys into the ground! Had a great Game 5 in the '86 Finals! And he had the beautiful high-arch turn around jumper! Unblockable!

      I think it was Game 4 in Houston. He was the high scorer in Game 1 and Game 4. After Boston went up 3-1, the series was essentially over.

    lol what a great exchange at about the 4:00 mark, talking about Kareem... Cedric points out that Robert had a lot of respect for certain guys (e.g. Moses)... but he felt that Robert gave too much respect to Kareem... they both start laughing and Robert says "I've got to give credit where credit is due...that's (Kareem is) the baddest man that ever played the game"

    What separates the Celtics from other teams is the respect. They all knew they were all good otherwise they wouldn't be there.
    But they were good at more than one thing or another at different times.
    Larry, being the captain recognizes that & lead the team in playing every game to the best of everyone's ability for each individual game. Many praises to the *Boston Celtics* of the '80's.
    Thanks Cedric for this great chat with the Chief.👍🍀🗑🏀🍀

    Most current MBA players have no idea how to play this game as a TEAM - they get paid way too much for such poor performance, and don't really careabout the games,as long as they can pass the checks.

    Is Robert parish really that delusional to think the nba is biased against hiring black men? For analysts coaches etc…. Always blaming it on race . Pathetic…. I just lost a lot of respect for Robert

    • @lamj5171
      @lamj5171 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Unless you walk a mile in another's shoes, it is not fair to judge another's experience. Parish's missteps probably cost him more than any other factor but race could have had an impact in some instances. Just because you believe that the NBA would never discriminate against black men in the hiring process, does not mean that it does not happen. Parish did not say that race was the only reason. He actually mentioned his missteps first then said that his race played a part as well. Do I agree with him? No, I do not but I could be wrong because I was not there to witness or experience things and neither were you.

    • @TheSands83
      @TheSands83 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lamj5171 so because i didnt live his life i should b delusional about what he said ? Nothing he said is even close to reality. Blacks r obsessed with race n if they dont get what they want they blame “ the white man“

    • @TheSands83
      @TheSands83 ปีที่แล้ว

       people r scared to death to not hire blacks now or they r Accused of racism.. Yeah hes just wrong . Thats not even an issue. No owner gives a shit if they guy wins what color he is. Thats just people making excuses, the most racist people ive ever met are black americans n thats just cold hard reality . They r obsessed with race n being black. Its why their communities are hell holes because they dont do for them selves they make excuses n blame whitey

    • @TheSands83
      @TheSands83 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesball5743 so white people can’t understand or see things for what they r because of there skin pigmentation?🤣😂 there are so many people out there who act like being black is this complicated algorithm that can’t b understood🤣 if u think the nba isn’t giving people jobs because they r black u might b the dumbest human on earth. I love this racist viewpoint now that white men are not allowed to say how they see it because of their skin color makes them not “understand”. And what racism is there exactly? No one offered any proof he didn’t get a job based on racism. There’s lots of white players also who never became a head coach.

    I am impressed with the dominance the 1980s Celtics displayed, despite having Robert Parish as their Center.
