Can’t tell you how much I love a vid like this. It’s the equivalent of a ‘canal bike’ (stolen or abandoned bike, tossed into the canal) being resurrected. Something like this would be a good interview. “So, you fancy yourself as the next Karl? Here’s the keys - get that one running and you start Monday”.
Seriously suspect sat for years , brought into the UK from Switzerland and has a new key that's blank. I wouldn't want to get involved unless whoever brought it to you can prove they legally own it.

I'm sure the car is legit, or you would not touch it. But with a Swiss plate on the car and a French plate in the car, it"s in the UK with a new key and not coded to the car! Are there any bags of white powder behind the door cards? Great video going through the issues. Bring on episode 2.

It wont be this but when ever I see key issues I post. I had similar issues with the key on my Audi when it did not have a high quality CR2032 battery in the fob. The voltage was fine and the battery worked in other things. The branded batteries I bought from a online retailer were counterfeit. It was my spare key so not an issue until I needed it and the main was not working.
Bummer you couldn't get to the solution. Great job and taking all the right steps, sometimes even additional steps. Hopefully this comment cheers you up! LOL :)
On the bright side, the engine is not seized 🙂 , did the customer tell you it wasn’t an original key ? Looks like a big bill for little gain unless the Dealer is able to/ willing to recode.
Was always taught about putting a battery on that way was only to do with shorting it out and nothing else. I wonder where people think different get the info from.
Hope we get to see what happens to this car in a future video. Shame to see it in such a rough state. One thing is for sure, Rick really understands the Gallardo.
Not wishing it on you of course, but definitely expected one of the small coolant hoses to shatter when you moved the expansion tank. That's purely based on my own experience with our '04. (and yeah, there was just a straight vanilla "Gallardo" in '04 and '05 prior to the SE being the first of the alphabet soup versions of the car).
You tried to initiate the new fob, but did you ever do that to the old key? Key in ignition and pressing a button on that key fob. Don't remember which one

710 😂 quality. Maybe I'm being dull but.. close door, both of them, bonnet and eng cover too, ecu will detect something/anything open and not allow recognition of new code from key/fob. Also have learned the hard way that not all 3v batteries are made equal, have had issues with fob/key not working with a new battery, reading 3v, change the battery for another/different make new one and hey-presto! 😊 think it was a new Panasonic I swapped for a new JCB and it fixed what was thought to be a buggered fob! Counter intuitive I know, who'd think a new branded battery would be shiit!?
Hi mitch idea for teashirt design impossipuzzle in a blue long band with white lettering as every car you do is a puzzle so I thought of impossipuzzle I think that I will look good and stand out plus people will ask wot it means so up you if you want to use the design ok
Hmm, I was looking into your effort spent on a car and was thinking - what the hell are you investigating without a proper coded key at the first place? Checking key fob battery should had been the very first thing to do, next - to check fault codes for immobilizer, conform key is not recognized by the car. Third - get it coded.
You should be able to extract PIN from engine ecu`s or dash. Ask your local locksmiths with tools of mass destruction. Then complete pairing with VCDS module 24/25 just like any other audi. This car is not rocket science.
Just an observation, why don't you invest in lightweight parts store trolley. This would save your back, keep parts together and prevent dickheads stamping on priceless Lambo SE parts and breaking them. It's not just you, most garages I see/ visit do this. A foldable, alloy wheeled table would be ideal... Have a great weekend
Did you ask the owner about the key and the old one, after this afternoon video? Think the owner should have won a carly off you and saved you some time. Question for all the knowlegeable viewers. I have very basic mechanic skills, I believe I'm quite logically minded. The good lady's Golf 5 needs new timing chain. Been quoted €1500. Not worth it on a €2500 ? Car. Only 110k on the clock, so... Is it a job I could wrap my head round and complete successfully? As a novice, should I steer well clear? Or get ordering the parts and get my hands dirty.. €300 odd for parts.. Or accept the €1300 a dealer has offered as is. Thanks.
It could be quite a tricky job and quite involved. Do some research first and see what you think and have a back up plan if you get stuck half way though.
