At 1:17:30 for a loose axe head soak it in auto antifreeze. It will swell up and not dry out again. Full strength ethylene glycol will do wonders for loose wood handles.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

We live in NC and are utilizing the local hardwood including Live Oak which i feel is tougher that the oak in the Appalachian region. I am 68 with a full reverse shoulder and just had a procedure on L2 and L3 of my vertebrae. I won't quit but the body sure isn't what it use to be, but I still plan on working till the day I pass. I like how through the camera some trees only look a foot or two in diameter but then you stand next to them or put your 42" bar in and its nowhere near all the way through... I'd love to see some of these giants up close... We don't quite have anything near that size here in the UK. Love your content, if I had seen these vids when I was 18 I think I would've come to Canada to be a feller. I started my logging career in 1974 when I was working for Roesler Timber out of Sultan, Washington with a timber faller named Art Keck. We were in a stand of very high value poles and piling timber near Lake Cavanaugh. The two of us would drop the trees and then yard them to the landing with a C6 Terex crawler. Many of the logs were 120+' long. I would then follow the log trucks out to I-5 until they no longer needed a pilot car. It was a great way to start logging. Art always took the time to teach me as he went. This video brings back many good memories......except the damned Horseflies!

I love working timber with big bore saws. I used to use smaller saws because I thought the lighter weight would make up for the lack of power. Honestly, having more HP means you are in and out of the wood quicker so you don't have to hold up the saw all day. I run a moded 661 with an 8-pin sprocket and a 28-inch lightweight Sugi-hara bar. Man, it flies through the wood. I love that saw.

Stihl light bars are better from what I read. Still, Sugi and Sumara bars can hold their own. IF the 592xp proves to be like the 395xp in power & longevity YOU BETTER LOOK OUT STIHL LOVERS!!!!!

There's nothing like a new Husky, as I love my 550 XP over my other saws, which I keep in my Jeep for clearing the many trees from the mountain roads I drive every week. I even plan on buying another one as a backup and for larger trees, such as the 572 or this 592, which is Husqvarna's newest and largest displacement saw in the 500 series.

I got 5 of the 500 series husky’s and the 550 by far is my favorite

550 is definitely a great saw.

Well we’re not really talking about towns or villages so I would go with the saw Husky here in the US is referring to the Husqvarna chain saw it’s a matter of context

I've got the 572 XPG, a complete beast of a machine, perticularly with a nice chain and bar from oregon

I’ll tell ya I was really pleasantly surprised by Huskies X chain or the X cut chain the only negative thing about them they do not like to be grounded even once ya better stop and run a file around the chain

interested to see how it works !
I won't need one for quite some time yet I hope cause we just got a couple of new old stock 390's and we have the one 572 XP that hasn't been ported yet just a different muffler...so hopefully it will be some time before we need a new one.
    UPDATE..
It's now a year later. I had a new in the box 390 given the treatment by a new Saw Shop and while there Our Son decided to have our 572 turned hot and he purchased a brand spanking new 592 and he had the shop go thru it and give it the "treatment" making it a lot more powerful and faster plus he swapped out factory muffler and kept the spark screen to stay Forest Service legal. We now have all the power heads back from the Shop and are working them hard everyday.
I know the 592 has more power than my old school 390 but where the 592 has great top end speed to power ratio my 390 has the grunt that the 592 just don't seem to me anyway to have. Don't get me wrong the "92" is a fantastic powerhead but the 390 just seems to suit me better. We run 32" Tsumura Light Bars with square ground full skip chain because 100% of what we cut is Ponderosa Pine and Black Hills Spruce. We do a lot of Bark Beatle Killed and Fire Salvage jobs and the rest goes to pulp wood, framing lumber and top grade finish lumber. Right now because of the way the bugs stain Ponderosa Pine all the various natural colors, that market has exploded ! Homeowners doing re- models and New Construction as well as the Log Home industry has really placed a high demand on this big stained wood so that's 90% of where our $$$$$$$ comes from. We've been running our Power heads sometimes 2 months straight with 4 days off at times because we have our own family run logging Company and it's Me, our Son and Son in Law and one full time equipment operator who is basically retired and works for us just to keep busy, he skids, stacks, loads and hauls our logs to the local mills or the Son in Law does that job. Anyways long story short we have a place for both....our Son loves the new 592 & I prefer the new old stock 390...and both have their place.

I though that Stihl chain was cutting remarkably well out of the box; nice big chips quick.
