    It was nice listening to a conversation between two people who see watches as a form of connection, rather than as a form of attention seeking.

    Have seen Shane around the group and I’ve always thought he had great taste in watches.
    A great episode. Definitely fun to see how people get in to watches and Shane does a great job of sharing his excitement about them.

    I like that collection. I don't think I'll ever buy a Greubel Forsey, but I love looking at them.

    Awesome collection. So mamy interesting watches. Personal favourites are the 1655 Exp2, the Greubal Forsey and that Doxa in blue!

    Great collection and watch talk. That's the spirit of watching collecting: diversity and true enjoy for your timepieces. Thanks for sharing it Tim. Cheers.

    very good video, excellent interview. I am finding everyone with an expensive Swiss watch also has a G-Shock.

    Different collection. Great video. I almost bought that clear casioak but was scared of it turning yellow. Glad I didnt. I went with the white one to wear in the summer.

    Sure the beautiful watch collection is one thing but the wonderful checked sports jackets featured in this video? They’re something else altogether.
    Thanks for the video Tim and kindest regards as always.

    I wouldn't mind showing my collection as a Gen Z who actually admires timepieces... Started with cheap watches at the Dollar Store as kids, to a Fossil at 10, to pocket watches and an Omega as a teen, to a Vacheron and GP at the end of my first year in college. I still have yet to meet someone else at my university, or even outside of my university, who also aspires to work hard and save for something like a mechanical watch. All the watches from my collection, including the VC, were bought with savings from minimum wages or less.

    • @jolness1
      @jolness1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You bought a VC with minimum wage? Pre tax minimum wage is less than 15k a year. So no expenses and you saved for several years I’m guessing?

    • @corlenwilschire
      @corlenwilschire ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jolness1 I wouldn't say no expenses, as I've always been tasked with buying my own groceries and taking care of my own car since I've been driving. I've been working since I was 13 mowing lawns, then at 14 working weekends at a local restaurant, then by 16 working daily and learning management, still making less than 10 bucks an hour... After I bought my Hamilton Belowzero I stopped buying watches for awhile and just saved for college. I didn't buy my Vacheron Cal 1003 Disco Volante in Platine Iridium until the end of my freshman year, as a gift to myself, and as something that I truly believe will be worth something later in life, maybe as an anniversary gift to a future wife, or maybe as a charity after I die, who knows. And to anyone else who may be reading this, I spent years reading forums of different watch brands, trying to decide which would be my first classic, based on the humility and lack of snobbishness of the fanclubs associated with pretty much every major brand... It wasn't by coincidence that I chose VC, nor did I just choose the cheapest model available just to have one, nor had I ever considered buying a replica just because it would look cool. I don't use social media either, other than being on here every now and then, so I probably have a completely different approach to watches and jewelry than most people do. I honestly hate looking at stagnant pictures of watches.

    Rolex is classic style, no doubt about it, but there are so many more interesting watches that don’t come with the uniform.
