Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I stayed in the cavern about 8 years ago. Most memorable vacation. LOVED IT down there! The freedom to explore, the silence, the beauty...truly worth every penny!

I was thinking wow a $1000 a night, that is very expensive. Then when the employee guy said, "thank you, it's people like you that keep the doors open" made me think nope not expensive but worth it. There is actually an old mine in my hometown Sala, Sweden. They have a hotel room at 509 feet below the surface! 😊
Yup, I live in the region and thought “the hotel room in Sala silver mine must be deeper than that!”. Even paused the video to look it up. 😂 Why people willingly sleep under ground is beyond me though. I would never. 😬

I was thinking there must be many places deeper than 220 feet. It's not that much. Wieliczka Salt Mines Health resort hotel in Poland is at over 130 metres( 426 feet) as far as I know.

This was one of my most favorite videos. I loved seeing different aspects of your personalities that I've never seen before. Nate; fearful of dark and ghosts and Kara getting to "sing" in the cave. Sounds like a wish full filled for Kara and an stretch for Nate in seeing the night through. It's not always the physically strenuous challenges that reveal our personalities. I hope and pray your video brings tons of people to visit the area and helps with keeping this gem of a tourist attraction active and financed.

@DjusLife So pleased there's at least one other person out there thinking the same thing as me. I'd like to say I'm also a budget international traveller - though at the moment more domestic travel (because... yknow... Covid 😉) but I'd prefer to spread the $1,000 out across a week or 2 of lots of cheaper adventures than to splurge it on 1 night. It's nice to know where Kara and Nate started - similar position to ourselves and they've worked their way to this point where it doesn't have to be one or the other. I should have picked a profession that wasn't teaching! 🤦♀️

We quit our jobs to travel right before the pandemic 🤦🏼♀️ yes not best timing but we have gotten to live abroad the past 8 months and have gotten to live in Japan, Turkey, Ukraine, Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia so far. Not our original plan but so grateful for everyplace we have gotten to travel to. We are definitely more modern backpacking style 😁 but we love our minimalist lifestyle abroad 😃 This cave was super cool but I think we would choose our a month living abroad over 1 day in the cave but LOVE living vicariously through them 😁 is the best!!
