- ( www.TFLcar.com ) The newly introduced Chrysler 300 Glacier Edition is the showcase car for Chrysler's new All-Wheel-Drive system. Unlike the previous generation, the new Chrysler AWD system is rear -wheel biased so that it feels more like driving a rear-wheel drive car. In this exclusive TFLcar video Nathan and Nicole get to test Chrysler new AWD cars in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on a very frozen and cold test track. So how does the new Chrysler 300 Glacier Edition handle the ice and snow? Check out this first drive video to find out.

Love this extreme weather review and test drive! Long Live Chrysler !
Thanks Nathan! You braved the elements to bring us a great review. Nice to see some of the team in the videos as well.
Great AWD system! Thanks for braving the cold to do this review Nathan! Although if you want cold, come up to Canada...it's -43F with the windchill right now!
Nice review Nathan! I have a 2014 Dodge Charger RT Max AWD and wanted to see some reviews and get a feel for how it handles the snow. Looks like I may finally be able to get some first hand wheel time this winter after all. Keep up the great reviews sir and really like TFL Car channel!
Nice review Nathan
Been there, done that. That is a special kind of cold!!
I like that they put some rear bias into the system. The RWD feel is so much better.
Chrysler have most beautiful vehicles ever existed... who knows may be 300 is the BEST sedan.....
This was really cool to watch. I am amazed that Chrysler could build such a system... which I would have to think even though they have help from Fiat; Fiat does not specialize in cold weather! Italy has almost ALWAYS perfect weather. Good for you Chrysler LLC... and GREAT review Nathan!!!!
Thanks Nathan.
It works well. It's fun. The front end corrects for miscalculations and small slides can be more dangerous than large ones. It depends on the situation. The 900/600/300 iced skid-pad forces any vehicle into a slide. It's similar to what would be experienced on a long, curved off ramp. If you slow down and drive at proper speeds, the system works seamlessly.
I love what you guys do just keep it more American cars like this very cool.
Your reviews are always amazing... If I hadnt been a subscriber of your channel I would not have been loving this awesome american machine. Chrysler are making amazing vehicles!! I especially loved your video review comparing the 300 to the Ford Taurus. Keep it up guys...
10 years later and they have 2 models.... lol
@@jacobshort5378 and I moved on to buy new cars.
@@Dipz0142 I just think it's funny they literally have 2 models now compared to 10 years ago.
Does the Glacier model come with the Hemi?
May be an obvious thing, but are the cars tested on snow tires or all seasons?
hey nathan or roman: have either of you had a look at the 300 john varvatos edition? what's your take on it? like nathan, i like a car that gives you that special feeling on the inside and it looks like the jve is quite special.
They had a Buick LaCrosse AWD there as well. They had vehicles there that compete in the same financial bracket. All of the Chrysler Group LLC tires were standard all-season.
so Nathan is it colder up there in Michigan than here in Denver ?
Roman gets the Jaguar AWD test in Canada, and you got the 300 in Mich. You should go down to Fla, drag Roman up there and put him in the trunk. He owes you a bean burrito. Tx for another great review as always.
Is this car still using the old e-class platform? I know the new jeep GC is the new MB ML.
You make these things so much fun. I love Nicole and I'm warming up to you using less music. Proud of my boys, and girl!
By the way, I sold my old CR-V and I'm seriously thinking about a Ford Focus ST. Yes, seriously! Have you driven it yet? Can you give me any input? Love you guys!
looks nice and fun out
300 is the hottest car on the road by far for its price
I have a chrysler 300, and soon after i bought it I seen if I could fit in the trunk too. Quite spacious.
The rear bias does step its tail out WAY more than a Subaru system. I think that was their point. When I deliberately over-accelerated into a corner, I could feel the car right itself out of a potential spin. It worked well.
why is the steering wheel so big?
Infiniti's AWD system has been doing that for ages. 100% power to the rear in normal condition, and up to 50-50% when needed.
great but please made a review of the 2014 silverado and the ford atlas if is possible
Is this the same AWD that is in the Dodge journey?
Nice review. Did Chrysler seriously pit 2WD competitors against their new AWD's?
I said the same thing but the funny thing is the genesis made it up there hill with barely any trouble at all.
That's so weird, I live in Upper Michigan. Wasn't able to tell where you were though.
Yes
I'm from upper michigan - the amount of snow here isn't an exaggeration
A Volvo XC60/70/90 would be perfect for that surface !! :) Of course with the T6 AWD !! :) But i love the 300 Glacier
It looks kind of like an old school Cadillac from the back to me, I agree with you. It's a nice drive I'll admit but I can't see myself buying one of these.
The halogen lamps Kills the nice led in the front:/
Actually looks pretty good.
The guy in the warehouse (.55- 1:53) talking of the car. Where is he from? His accent is a touch off.
what tires?
I wonder if they are saving those for the Mercedes-benz or the bmw.
nice
yes it actually does, you can get it as an option
There was a Hemi somewhere, but the majority were Pentastars.
I love snow! Nathan call me next time you have any snow jobs
I believe it is because the Charger still used the same platform as previous.
Nathan pop a few Vicodins instead of his daily multivitamin by mistake?? LOLOLOLOL
The Chrysler 300, and Dodge Charger are made in Brampton Ontario Canada.
where those Hemis or Pentastar V6s?
It depends of your opinion you wants the 6 cylinders or 8 cylinders hemi engine
volester turbo/range rover evoque mash up whats up guys?
Why is a Glacier Special equipped with lousy all season tires? It needs a set of proper snow tires!
I want to test my VW on those ice hill things.
First of all Buddy, you're taking things out of context. It is very Clear, I did not mention anything about price range in my prior post. It's about Chrysler's new Awd system. I dont think it is a fair comparison, when Chrysler matches their new Awd system against rear driven cars under those conditions. Why not, against a well known competitor, like the new Acura TL Awd or even Volvo S60 Awd?
I hope they make a AWD Charger SRT8 it be nice
Being able to feel the system correcting itself all the time doesn't necessarily mean it's any good. Bring in any Subaru and lets see how good it really is.
ya
i think all cars that are classified as "luxury" should have bixenon's as standard
No Acura TL SH-AWD? Were they afraid to get beat, lol
granted the american market gets AWD saloons but mercedes doesn't make any yet.. even those that will be made will only be AMG
Nope. They had a FWD Avalon and a RWD Hyundai Genesis sedan. Both are in the same price/demographic.
no audi for comparison?
Nathan looked miserable, you sacrificed for us. Thanks Nathan !
i still want the audi A8
Time for a new 300 Chrysler. Quit delaying with series.
Upper UP er sweet
The video doesn't convince me that Chrysler makes a good AWD system at all.
Hoooooooot!!!! Hot hot hot car!!!!!
I want the Charger
Seems like you're a comedian.
Damn straight! instead they brought two wheel drive vehicles with shitty oem tires to show how much better an awd vehicle with winter tires is. When brands cheat results like this it means their system is shit. Otherwise they would present a proper comparison to the journalists.
Why don't they compare it to a Subaru or an Audi?
nate, please wear a jacket, im getting cold looking at you
Could Nicole host some videos also?, no offense to you Nathan ;)
Why compare an AWD vehicle to a RWD vehicle Chrysler? Why not compare the 300 with the new AWD system to a Subaru, Audi or Acura's advance AWD. Chrysler are y
The question then is, Why? Why would anyone want to power slide "a little", and then have the system attempt to pull you back in during slippery conditions like this? It neither seems fun nor confidence inspiring, has no practical use, and is unsafe.
The Chrysler on the flat and the Toyota on an incline? lol
No, that's a completely different system.
Did he just say Subaru's aren't fun?
I don't care how the AWD system is. The 300 looks too old school for me.
because the only thing good enough to be compared to a 300 would be, a 300..............
:D
First: They didnt explain how it works.
Second: Comparing 2WD to 4WD brings nothing new.
Third: A woman in gloves sitting in a wrong seating position, driving with one hand on the steering wheel and acting like she is on her grocery/school run really annoys me.
Nnnnnm
Wtf
HURRAY THE UP!
Chrysler are you afraid?
I'll take 0 over 100 any day...
Chrysler, Dodge products are reliable.
Glacier Edition + all-season tires = FAIL
The charger is better. This 300 looks ugly especially in the rear.
I've driven chryslers awd and subarus awd systems on snow and I'm much rather drive the subaru.
This looks like some drunks designed rhe Glacier model. Terrible
im sorry but a woman telling me about driving sounds wrong in my ears lol!
Nice review Nathan
