    I had these and loved them. No one makes a monitor in this price range that uses the same exact material for both tweeter and woofer much less kevlar. The midrange on these is perfection and the top end sounds different and unique from everything else on the market being kevlar. I dont think there are currently any studio monitors or even hifi speakers that use kevlar for the tweeter at any price range. I loved them so much I returned them and upgraded to the V8 S4s.

      Interesting...I've had all G's of the ROKIT 8's. Again, I mostly used them in my DJ studio due to the bass. However, the G4's are a better monitor and I have been using them in my recording studio. Also, stay tuned...I have a couple KRK video treats coming very soon.

      And did you feel the 8 was even better? Or overkill? Did they keep the beautiful mids and highs?

    I love the new 7's. I actually have the Classic 7's and they're amazing. Perfect size and perfect wattage. I had the Rockit 8 G2's and found the low end to be too powerful while the top end was a little weak, come to find that the tweeter only gets 20 watts while the woofer gets 90 watts. The new 7's however are so much more better balanced with 25 watts going to the tweeter and 48 watts going to the woofer. I recently added the S10.4 subwoofer to my set up and OMG it's heaven.

    My dad bought himself a Yamaha YDS 120 digital saxophone recently, and was asking me about getting an amp to play it through. I was thinking maybe a Rockit monitor speaker would be a good option instead of a combo amp, as it is just for use at home. Any thoughts? Presumably he could just connect direct from the line out of the sax to the line in of the monitor speaker? I have some older Rockits connected to my PC and really like them.

    For (mainly but not only) electronic music, deep house/electro french space pop/dance pop, etc. would a 7" woofer be ok or better to go to an 8" woofer, for bass frequencies I mean?

    I just got the Rokit 7 G4, and the first thing I noticed is that the woofer is actually 5.5" in diameter, not 7" (and that's measured from the far outside portion of the rubber ring to the opposite side's far end of the rubber ring). Am I crazy? Could you measure your Rokit 7 G4's woofer and confirm?

    • @crossfadr

    • @iandeval351
      @iandeval351 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of the finest measuring amplifiers in the world (e.g. Hypex or Purifi) are class D. However that is not to say all class D amplifiers are well engineered.
      The big advantages of Class D for use in powered monitors such as these is that they are cheap (more of the budget can then be spent on fancy Kevlar drive units) and they produce far less heat which is good for long-term reliability.

    • @VinceCheong
      @VinceCheong 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I do have to agree. I have some old old Class AB HK Citation 16, and they're beautiful... But comparing to what newer boards manufactures can churn up for Class D amps.. I'm seeing a slightly less biased picture about your statement. But I suppose it's how each brand manufacturers makes full use of these newer Class D amps for a fraction of its costs.

    • @RedPillBroadcast
      @RedPillBroadcast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Class D allows for higher power/wattage at much less heat/detriment to the electronics package which equals longevity
