The mk6 Fiesta was a big step up from the rust prone mk5. Unlike them, these were bulletproof and reliable, I had two before moving on to the Mk7 and then Mk7.5 facelift. I have a habit of looking on the gov.uk mot checker to see how my previous cars are faring, (sad, lol!) and my facelifted 2006 zetec climate is still going at just under 100k! The interior of your px looks amazing, and with a good service history and a damn good exterior clean it'll fly through those farm gates!! Great channel Joe, one of my favourites!
Nothing beats some good grass
Very decent car for £400. Hopefully the engine management light is an easy fix. Hopefully the Radio is also an easy fix. Great video keep up the great work and content
Mk6 are brilliant little cars to drive. We bought one 8 years ago for the kids, peanuts to run. The controls are so well balanced, the pedals, gears and steering just feel so right. It was a 2 owner and it a right gem.
Best advice ever about owning horses... if you want to make a small fortune out of them start of with a big one! !! My old trusty mare crossed over the rainbow bridge, I've spent the spare money on a Mk7 Golf 40th CS ! Those little Fiestas are pretty bombproof and looked like it was 'last ever' new car spec for the first owner.
Engines on these were true Old Ford toughies. The 1.25 head was engineeered by yamaha. They were very durable. I had to rip the dash out my daughters as the rail tracks on the back needed soldering but was very nice car. Very easy to work on and desirable as first car a youth would cherish that I am sure
I guess the grass was greener on the other side this time 😂
😂
Those cars are very advanced for their time Oh and they're also common for fuel pump failure
Well done again Joe, keep us updated as to what happens with the fiesta mate.
Hi Joe,I used to have the Zetec version of the Fiesta,it was a good car to drive.with the work done on this one it will be a great sell.
Great little car Joe,lots of potential, ideal cheap car for someone who just needs a runaround
The likelihood is the radio is toast Or you could check the volume for each individual equalizer which all Fords have Or you could have blowing one of your speakers which could cause a that the speaker system is naked or even disconnected
Great little cars cheap to repair and sell well. Enjoying the channel. 👍
Thanks 👍
Both bumpers look different i think its just because its old plastic not metal they fade a bit 👍👍👍
I have one of these, a 2004 Mk6 "Finesse". It's done over 121000 miles with only routine replacements. I suspect your engine peoblem might be a corroded lead. I had this a couple of years ago, not bad enough to affect the running, but made interference on the radio. Your radio is working, as you can see the graphics come up. There are 4 speakers so I think the speaker plug may have come out of the back of the radio. Also check balance/bass/treble controls.
Interior is superb on this little run around Super Joe 💪🏻 Pity about the back driver door but an easy fix...Cheap radio bang it in and a coil pack for the slight misfire plus 2 cheap tyres and your away...I think this would be an ideal run around for local work or a takeaway delivery driver...defo a small profit in it no doubt especially with your Superhero Selling Powers!!!...💪🏻😉👍🏻 Great video buddy...Keep em coming Super Joe 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Haha, thanks Neil! 🦸🏼♂️
Got a few engines out of these in storage. They do still sell (well over here anyway) okay and are pretty much indestructible. Love the channel, rapidly becoming my favourite! Greetings from Gibraltar.
Thanks, much appreciated! 👍
plenty of life in that, spark plugs or leads deffiently, although ive had a few of these leak water from washer jet into sparkplug chambers or oil aswell from rocker cover gasket not being replaced when cambelt done, the washer jetsare cheao as chips geniune and dead easy to get air box off etc to check or replace any of these parts, good little car with some love
Im so glad youtubers like yourself put costs as we know that at least your being honest. Ive watched many vids and people say ive bought this car and it needs this that another and i will sell it for etc, but not being honest about costs etc.
Honesty is the best policy 👍👍👍
Huge fan of this model Fiesta..though never owned one
I hear good things about that gen fiesta, but mine had a tendency to self destruct. Water pump started leaking every 40k miles, spark plugs were misfiring every 30k or so. Not the biggest issues, but it wanted constant attention
Whilst we always think the worst when bits are missing from cars I've actually had 2 towing eye covers (on different cars) go missing when going to car washes
Joe I had a mondeo 1.6 petrol yrs ago but the coil pack was on it way out had the same symptoms as that lil fiesta. I think the radio will need replacing 😂 if your getting power the fuse is fine. I doubt the amplifier or speakers are on a different fuse.
I bought a 2003 1.6 ghia in this colour for £350 in 2015. Been sat on the blokes driveway for a few years, The front suspension had collapsed and i paid £350 for it, had full main dealer history, i changed both suspension legs on the blokes driveway, mot'd it on the way home and it went through with no advisories, i booked it into ford for a service and used it for a few month's as it was a lovely little car......made 1k profit out of that one...
Another entrant to the Shifting Metal banger race.
😂😂😂
It looks a little low on that front right maybe ford spring disease. Also the stereo is a pain to change you have to take all the trim off under the steering wheel to get the dash out.
😢
Engine light flashing usually means secondary ignition system fault
what's with the black 'hood' the horses are wearing ? Are they wanted in the other 49 states ?
Flashing EML is always a misfire in a Ford.
Radio is strange...try a CD in it which eliminates speaker and amp issue. Is the radio tuning into stations correctly - does the stereo light light up? Could be the aerial amplifier in the headlining rather than the headunit (which is why try a CD in it first).
Heated front screen is a nice extra. Always worthwhile making sure that works too.
Service valet mot tyres £1195 tidy car for someone for a year 👍🏻💕
Corplugs go on these causing spark plug wells to fill up with coolant £5 for core plugs. Just take off rocker cover and pop old ones off realistically about 30 min job.
Also coil packs are the 4 block so not individual but, they go for a past time on the duratecs. mid range about £35 generally takes about 5 mins to replace as not hidden and just 4 torx acrews amd remove air box. Always thought it was mad these duratecs have a 10 year or 100,000 mile cambelt change interval.🤷🏻♂️
It's the mark 5 and that trim level should be on Aluminium wheels
I think the small cars are definitely still making money well they are from what I’m seeing as new drivers are always looking for there first car and these’s cars are perfect for a first car well that’s my opinion. On small car with little engines
Car trade must be good if you got all them horses 😮
No hang on a minute the toy Eye cover is supposed to have a plastic string attached to it that's been ripped off on purpose
That advice about avoiding Horses & Horsey women is VERY true! Nothing but expense & trouble
MK6 Fiesta. Metropolis Blue in case you want to do any paint...
I had an old j reg Orion. That had a separate amp
I couldn’t help but notice the post and rail u have to keep the horse in…mate the rails are on wrong side!! Having them the way you have the horses can push against them and push them off!! They should be on the inside of the post!! I no this is a car channel lol but thought I’d let you no because your going to have problems for years to come….back to the video I agree with you that that style fiesta are great!! I had one some years back and it was a lovely little car!!!
I noticed that too 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It's probably worth having the cosmetic work done
That misfire will be the coil pack. Cheap and easy to fix
Any news on that Ibiza?
Yes on ghia badge ebay 5 pound👍
Not a great Ford fan - find these Fiestas a bit tinny but the styling is spot on. Might be worth more investigation on the radio, eg balance settings may be wrong.
Nice car, heated front screen too. Miss my old Mondeo! Did the rear bumper also have a different colour shade, like the front? Hey, maybe me.
It was ok I think
No defo shows on camera both bumper are different colour
I've got a spare one of those radios you can have if you're ever in Birmingham.
With the misfire, I'd check whether there's water getting into the spark plug wells, that's a common problem on those Fiestas and if that's your issue, you can fix it for next to nothing with a bit of sealant. Water gets in under the washer jets on the bonnet, so a bit of sealant around those and drying out the wells is all you need to fix it.
Ideal courtesy car.
See if it revs cleanly over 4,000 rpm... I had a 1.4 that had the same issue - rocker cover gasket failed
Can't beat a good Fiesta.
That's a Mk6, had two of them both brilliant cars
A great little car that Fiesta Ghia - had one in 2002. Horrible seats- is it easy/costly to change the seats on a car like this?
Shouldn’t be too bad really
That Joe is the Mk5 pre facelift fiesta the speakers have either been disconnected or they may have blown cones
Will have to check that out, thanks!
@@ShiftingMetal no problem only hassle is getting to the rear of the stereo on these fiesta's the facelift model is slightly easier but unfortunately half of the dashboard still has to come off if it been disconnected
I am watching this from the United States and anything similar would easily be $2,000.00!
It would be sold "AS IS" and if the engine or transmission self-destructed after the papers were signed it's not the dealer's responsibility
Crazy! Hello from over the pond!
Got a really tidy one of these from Aston barclay, only 52k,little minter, 450 bid, miss fire, so new coil pac on, ran well, longer journey, overheating, head gasket gone, rare in these, so ended up at a loss.
No way man that sucks
@@flippingcarsrepairs it's how it goes bud, can't win em all.
@@roystonvehicles9129 tell me about it i find that out with the pug 308 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Radio issue - Are the speakers still in the car 🤔
81K on the clock, yep coil pack. Easy fix.👍
Hi Joe
That would make an effort deal car for Jordan ( think thats who i am going to talk about) you jnow the guy who not only loves a project but he also loves taking corners the way he does but his car/cars don't like the kerbs or hedges as much as does 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lisa uk
Do you have a link to the wife’s cheap cars website kind regards
Get that ds3 happening I want to see that in all its glory.
Soon!
These Fiestas are quite decent cars.If you manage to adress this juddering issue you could potentially make a small profit despite it's age.
I’ve got a wee check list I use for part ex you want me send it over Joe? Not for you but staff
Can probably get around £1200 for it I payed £1350 for mine it was on 113,000 miles
Pretty sure this era of Fiesta doesn't have individual coil packs. The Mondeo of this era didn't
Nice little runabout for a poor driver i like it value for money there gets you from point A to B what not to like about that chaps
Mk 5 the first year that it was brought out
great video and car but i have a vw golf r est 7.5 that cost me 26K and am thinking of getting rid of it so let me know if you are interested . A+ .
Always! Drop us an enquiry on carsboughtformore.com
@@ShiftingMetal thx u i have sent details to you .
Any more horse shinanigans, I'm off 😂
I'm with ya!
Wrong sort of Horsepower
😂😂😂
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚘
most dealers in my area for that car they would say £200 lol i remember i had a cheeky twt that say i give £150 for my 2009 picanto cat s with mot and looked after with nothing wrong with it so i said feck off and needed quick sale got £400 and the guy who resold it got 1k 2days later i didnt think it was even worth more then £500 since i had 135k on the engine and needed handbrake sorting
What did you do to piss the horse off
Don't think 500 balloons profit is bad!
It's better than loosing 500.
Well, a bit less, minus VAT etc but yes, not to be sneezed at
Chain driven good for 200000 if looked after
cambelt engine
@@d4nzo not on a duratec engine the 1.2 i have had 1
@@anthonycunliffe I cant say for the older shape fiesta/the engine which cane from it in a odd few the 1.3(I think) with the green oil cap which was in the like of the original shape ka but I know for fact the 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 duratec engines of these are certainly belt, especially having replaced them!, I'd reconend pulling the 3 8mm bolts off the side of cover pulling it back abit so you can see in there
Are you sure that's a legitimate gear it's supposed to have tinted windows from the factory
I think the Mk7 versions are nicer and better build quality
I have a 2007 Ford Fiesta MK6 ghia ( facelift version of this one ) on 123,000 miles they’re brilliant little cars I drive it fairly hard and it just takes it just flew through it’s last mot plan is to get it up to 200,000
Lichen
a dent man will pull that out for 45 quid, f**k right off 🤣
At least 100 quid 😂😂😂
i offer ,100 dump it and go home in your new luxury car with a proper pdi new mot and warranty or go to that facepalm market place
Fiesta over 10 yrs old...might as well junk it as it will be rusted to hell underneath
