To feed the USB lead up through the mat, you can lift the mat out. Might need a thin tool to get under the edge.

Technically it's where you connect the MG iSMART app to the car.
Just got a Trophy and absolutely no instructions for the sat nav a total nightmare but the maps are right up to date.

Bind vehicle pairs your car to the MGiSmart so then you can turn the climate control on from the comfort of your own home so it is warm/cold when you get into the car (among other things!) and check the level of the car battery, do ‘find my car’ etc.
Also you can lift the phone mat up from the corner and thread the usb lead through which makes it neater.

at 8:21 of the video you came up with the VIDEO and the display message was: "Please insert USB Flash Disk". Does this mean that the MG4 can actually record the video?
no, but it can play movies in the screen.
