Happy to help. I used to have the same situation and I would create/update the course in one institution class and then export it to the other. Saves time when it pretty much the same. Then just update dates, etc and you’re good to go!

Hi Ashlee! If leaving an institution and unsure if I will be teaching a course again, but would love to get thigs into Word docs, can I do that? I thought you mentioned it, but couldn't find a videe on it.
Hi! This is a tricky one here. If you are wanting to save your course content then you'll need to copy and paste the text in a google doc or word doc yes. You can't export a canvas course and use it in any other form (at least not in my experience.) What I do is create all the content in a google doc then put it in a slide format for in person teaching. I'll take all or that content and use it for creating my canvas courses that way I always have a back up and optional way of continuing to the teach the course. It's time consuming yes but worth it in the long run.
I exported the course content as shown in the video, but when I try to import it into another course, after selecting the file and clicking the import button, it says 'pre-processing' in the 'Current Jobs' section instead of 'queued'. Why could this be happening?
Not sure that’s possible as a student. I don’t think you have access to export your course content and save it for later. Your teacher can also set your course to not to be available for viewing or access past a certain date or at the end of the course. Check with your instructor.

Hi there. You can get a free limited version on the Canvas website to try out but it is mostly a product that is purchased through an institution.
