    I' am impressed to see someone actually wash the vegetables! Very important so thank you for doing this step. One tip i would like to add especially for the green leaf lettuce is to put a layer of paper towel on the bottom of the container, put one also in the middle and then one on the top of the greeens before closing the lid & storing it. This step absorbs the moisture, also dry all the veggies & fruits before storing.

    This inspired me! I'm recovering from a food restrictive eating disorder and recently decided to reintroduce healthy foods, and watching this made me excited to buy a variety of produce and prep and organize it all pretty

    Wouldn’t it be easier and quicker to cut the zucchini and cucumber lengthwise first then dice rather than cutting rounds then going back to quarter them?

  • @QueenD75172
    @QueenD75172 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Not sure if she mentioned it and I missed it, but please exchange the water from the vegetables daily! But overall, learning how to store my vegetables and foods has saved me so much money 🎉🎉🎉
    And ingriedient prepping is (for me) so much better than meal prepping.

    For the cucumber it's much easier to cut the entire cucumber in half or quarter lengthwise then slice it instead of slicing then cutting all the little slices into quarters.

    Hi i have a question. I thought having moisture on vegetables and fruits will cause them to grow mould. So if i wash berries or grapes, i always leave them out to dry or will take a tissue to dry them one by one. So i’m curious why you wash them and put them in wet. Won’t the moisture cause them to go bad? :o

      I agree; I would recommend putting them through a salad spinner after chopping/cutting to remove excess water. The produce lasts so much longer. I'd also think the peels (minus the citrus and the onions) and scraps could be composted instead of throwing them away.

    Where does you get the stackable containers for the cukes and bell peppers, etc, the link on your Amazon store only shows stackables that are divided.

      Peeling it with a vegetable peeler before you cut it up makes it easier as you have more to grab on !

    But if you add water to the carrots, don't their nutrients leach into the water? Also, oxygen degenerates vitamin C (and probably other nutrients), so it's best to NOT cut up apples or other fruits and veg until you actually need to use them.
    Of course you're free to do as you like but if you want to get the best nutrients out of your fresh produce for your family, you may want to cosider keeping the fruit whole and taking the few seconds (!) to wash and cut them directly before you actually use them.

    First of all nice video! Second we don't wash the fruits and veggies before we put them in freezer and third we don't cut oranges and put them in the fridge because if u cut orange it start to oxidize with the air and lose most of the vitamin C

    • @carinproud434
      @carinproud434 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes a little lost vitamin c is better than not eating the fruit at all

    Don’t wash your mushrooms like that :O they’ll go woody. If they are pre cut they’ve already been washed haha

    • @PaulinaAllure
      @PaulinaAllure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      they still have a lot of dirt on them even pre washed! so this works for me as I cook them quickly.

  • @jeanriverton6965

    don't wash mushrooms, use a small brush to clean them instead - they soak up that water and make every meal watery.

    hello nice video, but in the future when you are cleaning your veggies and fruits please clean them in baking,water and white vinegar (pour all ingredients in a bowl that will whole the liquid in let sit for a few minutes or two, mix it around to make sure it mixed up good and you will see all the dirt, bugs and whatever else is on the fruits and veggies from growing in the ground. let them sit for 1-3 minutes rinse and then you are ready to store.

    Did I see this right? You put the organic waste in plastic bags? Don’t you compost it? This should definitely not go to landfill. That’s the worst for the environment.
