    Hey friend, thank you so much for doing this collab with me! I appreciate you! I love those stacking containers! It makes all the fruit and veggies look so pretty! The glass pitchers are a great idea too! I may have to try those. We have so many different kinds of milk in our fridge because of all the different diets and likes here haha! I added those squeeze bottles and it was the best decision! I love them and find it worth it to keep up with them. Thanks again for doing this collab!💗

    Little tip: if you store carrots in a jar with water, they stay crisp for way longer and don’t dry out

    • @hopeguillory7574
      @hopeguillory7574 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I tried this and they went bad faster! The waster went merky and there was mold type stuff all over the top

    • @Allison-ry7hc
      @Allison-ry7hc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@hopeguillory7574 yeah that happens, you have to change the water once it starts to look cloudy. Carrots really like water/moist environments. (If you ever noticed how when you buy a bag of baby carrots, the bag has some water in it, this is to keep them fresher longer and prevent drying out)

      Easier just to wrap them with something like a cloth or paper towel to absorb moisture. I can store my carrots I grow for months by wrapping them in a towel in the crisper. Never found another way that gives them that shelf life outside a root cellar.

    Great video. Little tip: tomatoes and onions are dry storage items that start fresher outside of the fridge. So you'll get more room for other items that should be refrigerated 🙂

      I was trying to figure out what she does when she don’t use the entire onion and need to refrigerate. If you try to put a cut onion in the fridge uncover everything will taste like onion 🧅

      I thought tomatoes could go on the counter. I have tried to keep my tomatoes out of the refrigerator, but I feel like they start to die after a few days, especially if it's kind of hot.

      Definitely agree. Condiments I get labeling because they can look similar. But generally if we can see what it is, we don't need a label. And like she pointed out, it adds flexibility.

      I agree with the your fridge needing to be functional, but I like general labels like: fruit, vegetables, sandwich and leftovers. These labels help me keep my fridge organized and when I have help they have a general idea of where to put things instead of just shoving it in.

  • @ammerslo2632

      Did you try it? I would think it would be a hassle to refill them every time you grocery shop.

    • @cassthompson3386
      @cassthompson3386 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dubosesjoy I'm obviously not the OP, but in my opinion I find it very much so worth it to use the uniform-in-size squeeze bottles for condiments. For one, they are skinny and all the same size, saving A LOT of room (plus they just look way better). And I don't know how quick and often you go through your condiments, but for me it is not all that often, so I do not have to refill them often (definitely NOT even close to every time I grocery shop).

For example, if you buy a large ketchup and the whole bottle doesn’t fit into your cute labeled bottles, where do u put the half-full ketchup container? Do u have a second fridge for everything that won’t fit into the containers in your main fridge?

    A suggestion - some of those fruit & veg that you put in the clear bins would benefit from lining the bottom of the bin with paper towels. Some just last longer in a dry environment. Truthfully, some would be better with an airtight container as well and since those would also stack, ya’ll might want to take that into consideration. But at least line the bottom of the bin. You might not need your berries to last as long as I do. Especially since I’m the only one who eats them. A family will go through them faster.

    I use many of the clear bins like you have for my pantry. Not quite so for my fridge . But I am looking to figure out a more efficient way of organizing my freezer. Also, I have used those glass pitchers for years! I make (we drink A LOT ) of sweet tea lol , but also pour juices into and started doing the same with our coffee creamer about a year ago. I make my own creamer , usually, but my son uses a certain store bought (🤷🏻‍♀️) and I would never know when he was running low (I am the grocery shopper here lol) so I started decanting the creamer into these pitchers so I could see and it fits well inside the door where we keep it. Also, having all the drinks in the same squarish / rectangular pitchers, helps fit Inside the fridge along side the square/rectangular food storage containers. The rounded containers actually seem to take up more space and make it more difficult to utilize the space efficiently.

    How or where are you storing the extra condiment containers of stuff that didn’t fit in the squeeze bottles?

    • @cvelasquez8041
      @cvelasquez8041 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on which condiment you are bottling, I would say the pantry or cabinets is a good place to keep original containers. Some like mayo and dressings need refrigeration after opening, but ketchup, mustards, etc can be in pantry. The original bottles will usually say "refrigerate after opening" if needed.

    • @user-vg8ez9cu6u

      Or you buy the condiment bottles in the size of the squeeze bottles to avoid this problem...but it then creates a new problem of paying more for less product.

    Hello, Adaline! "Squeeze" is my favorite word. I'm obsessed with the round condiment squeeze bottles. My 4 reusable "16-ounce" OXO bottles separately have mustard, ketchup, honey barbecue sauce and pancake syrup in my kitchen's cabinet. I love to play with my 20 other empty "Farberware, OXO & Tablecraft" bottles. I don't online shop, but I could try the 16-ounce bottles by Houseables and Pinnacle Mercantile. They're from Amazon. I like the widemouth "24- & 32-ounce" bottles by Choice and Tablecraft, but collecting 'em could be problematic by accumulating much space. It's ideal for you to organize your reusable bottles in your fridge.

    I am so happy to see you put onions in your refrigerator…l use to do that and so many people complained about it so l stopped, then my onions went bad quickly when they weren’t in the refrigerator. So needless to say, they are back in the fridge. Also l am so glad to see you using drawer dividers too cause some things if put next to something else will cause them to go bad and l think this is an excellent way to keep that from happening.

      Some veg and fruit give off a gas that makes other things rot/rippen more quickly. I am not sure dividers will change that.

Yours is the first organized frigde video I've seen that is simular to my frigde and was interesting to see how you managed and you did an awesome job! If you decide to do an update video on this topic could you capture all of the shelves in one frame?

      I tape mine on the bottom or back of the container, most of the time it doesn't last until the expiration date, so she may do the same

    I have to label things because no one in the house would ever put anything back to its designated spot, lol. They just throw it on top of the easiest to reach spot. I found refrigerator dry erase labels on amazon I ordered because I'm sick of changing up the labels.

    The fridge looks so well organised and nice but where do you put the meat and any other fridge items you buy?

    • @missamerican1742
      @missamerican1742 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      She put sandwich meat in her fridge and meat that is uncooked should never be kept in a fridge, it should be a freezer. If you’re going to use it for dinner take it out in the morning or at lunch to defrost.

      @@missamerican1742 you don't keep uncooked meat in the fridge? We do in the UK. I suppose that's why I wondered why there wasn't any, I didn't see her put cooked meat in either

    • @thefarfromperfectmum

      @chrbx13 there's nothing wrong with putting uncooked meat in the fridge as long as its wrapped/sealed thoroughly. You buy it uncooked and fresh from the shops so they do it. In the UK, we all put uncooked meat in the fridge and leave it there until we cook it, more people do that than freeze it, its the norm here

      @@thefarfromperfectmum I live in the UK and everyone I know stores uncooked meat in the freezer because that's how they bought it....supermarkets don't sell uncooked meat or fish from a fridge?
