People notice fat or slim. It took 65lbs down for people to even notice because then I was finally not overweight. And yet every 10 pounds felt like a big difference to me.

I prefer that people don’t notice or comment. I hate attention being drawn to me so I feel uncomfortable with someone looking at my body and making a comment about it. My reason for taking control of my weight/health is for me and is a personal commitment to myself. 🤷🏽‍♀

Just ask yourself, “why did I lose weight in the first place”? I will guess, to be healthy, be comfortable, live life, and because you were overweight. So when someone notices your weight loss, you achieved what you were going for.❤ More power to you💪🏻

I’m actually running into people that noticed I lost weight, but it’s not always a positive thing. Some people tell me I lost TOO much weight and make me feel horrible when I should really be congratulated 😢 I did lose a lot of weight since Covid hit. It was a 3 year journey and went down 10 sizes. I’m thin and toned now and I’m in maintenance mode, but it’s discouraging when you’re told you need to gain weight. I’m a very healthy person and I eat good food, and exercise regularly. It’s frustrating. They wouldn’t tell me I needed to LOSE weight if I was overweight would they? 😠

Think “crabs in a barrel”…when one crab tries to get out there’s always at least one that’s trying to pull it back down into the barrel with the others. Don’t worry about them…if you’re feeling good and healthy and honest with yourself, don’t worry about the haters…just keep your eyes on the prize. You know misery loves company !

I had lost 5 pounds and was so happy about it. I Went to visit my parents. As soon as I got to their house my mother started in on me saying I needed to lose weight, and that I looked like I had gained ten pounds...a long lecture about dieting etc. I was upset when I got home I binge ate for the rest of the evening. I admit it, I’m an emotional eater. So no most people really don’t notice. Sometimes it would be nice if they didn’t comment at all when they think they do.

I’ve been following you for years and you had mentioned this years ago on a Vlog and it stuck with me because it resonated. I had lost 35 pounds because I’m morbidly obese and I was preparing for my brother’s wedding and I still had another 55 to lose and my father didn’t notice that I lost the weight. I’m a grown woman. That is so silly but it affected me so deeply that I gained all of it back. People will not notice and that is OK. Don’t expect them to or it may very well undermine you. I saw the first video mentioning this after the regain but ever since my mind has shifted and I don’t focus at all on peoples awareness of my progress. Fantastic. Fantastic advice and extremely accurate and valuable.

I lost weight after high school (was obese throughout middle and high school) and got to a normal size. I have maintained for the past 10 years. My mother and I were looking at photos from high school, and she had completely forgotten that I had been so big and was able to lose the weight--she had seen me slimmer for so long that it completely wiped out her memory of having an overweight child. I was offended because I'm still really proud of my hard work and determination, but it made me realize that people don't remember my life like I do, and they don't think about my body much at all.

Whenever I first started losing weight in years past it showed in my face first so that brought comments from folks. But this keto journey started during covid shutdowns so once things started reopening (people could start attending my church again) I had already dropped a substantial amount of weight. I lost 140 and have kept it off since starting May of 2020 and every once in a while I run into someone I haven’t seen since the pandemic and they do a double-take because I am just over 1/2 weight I was in 2019.

I actually have a very different experience… I started seeing people’s reaction after I lost about 30 lbs. Almost nobody would comment directly, but I could see it in their nonverbal. The greatest compliment is seeing people close to me starting to make changes and applying the method (or a version of it) that I’m using (intermittent fasting, then alternate-day fasting 2 days full fast per week). They kind of waited to see if it would stick first though, which is quite normal. They probably expected me to stop or regain, and since it didn’t happen and I’m still losing without pain, they are now looking closely. I don’t really need the direct encouragement, I know why I’m doing this and that’s enough.

When I was a kid and a teen I was this sporty girl type and very active . When I got 19 or 20 I have gained a good 30 lbs even more within 2 years. Around 25 I came back doing sports like rollerblade, running, walking, biking, hiking etc etc and oh boy people didn't stop to tell me that I lost so much weight. Trust me people notice it maybe not your partner since he sees you everyday and all the time I say that because my ex did not tell me once that I lost weight or look different and when he was asked about it he used say "I don't know, I didn't notice it". However I was not expecting him to say anything since I was doing it for myself and feeling good in my body again. 😉

I’m 69 also and had the same situation. I have always had a difficult time losing weight.
I now ( i know this sounds crazy) eat 0nly 2 big meals a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the other days I have 2 big lattes in the morning plus vitamins, drink lots of water and tea and am finally dropping weight. I have a lot to lose, but after a lifetime of dieting, I have to shake things up and go a bit extreme to lose without my body going into starvation survival mode.
500 cals a day, 3000 steps a day. Lattes because I realized it was the one thing I couldn’t live without.
Finally releasing weight and I feel great.

I'm a 74 year young woman and I've been doing 16/8 for 4 years. I do the same as you, coffee (with cream) and tea (with lemon) in the morning, breakfast between 10:30am and noon, and another meal around 5pm or 6pm. I lost 93 pounds the first year trying to stay under 20 carbs a day and drinking the apple cider drink all day. But, I've been stuck here, 35 pounds from my goal, for 3 years, gaining and losing the same 10 pounds. I'm thinking about trying the carnivore diet to get motivated again.

I'm 59 and have struggled for years. IF doesn't do anything for me, but ADF works for me. I have also done 3 days fasting weekly. I find both methods equally effective, but ADF is easier. I find the key is having low calorie days between regular eating days. I just can't eat everyday and see weight loss, period. In the end you need to have a weekly calorie deficit.

I totally disagree. People notice these thing really fast - and don't like it. Think like you have been working with person who has tried to loose weight a long time. They say things like, I don't believe you- you don't have that in you-i buy you a cup of tea, coffee, lunch-etc (to get you to eat more). That is really the thing that makes you to get the weight back. You should really change your friends and environment to keep the weight you want. But maybe it is not your goal to leave everything and everyone you love. So, keep up the good work and don't mind them. My friend said I don't believe you when I started running and I was rather good already at the moment. I stopped. It took me 3 years and total change in life to find the love to running again. So don't give up!

Just take care of your health. People are fickle. If they do or don't notice it doesn't matter. What matters is that yiu are getting healthier. Most women are nasty about you losing, because they aren't. A lot of jealoys women are out there.

'A lot of ... rambling. IMO. (All the "religious paraphernalia" in the background is (at a minimum) unneeded. Some people will just automatically dismiss what you're saying. Others will find if actually offensive. "Geez," they'll be thinking, "Yet another creation myth." Best to say what you want to say without religion, politics, etc. in the picture. Literally) (Again, IMO.)
