Blue Lock forced me to read their raw chapters (currently Ch 204). That's just how good they are. The only manga that forced me to do that we're all seinen manga, none of them were shonen manga. It's the first time I getting so much anticipation over a mere shonen manga. This is obviously not football, but this is what a shonen manga should be. 1. You should grow other side characters, it's tiresome but worth it 2. You should keep some unknown info so that you can hook up fans with mysteries, do that until finale and you'll do good 3. You should have clear worldbuilding and lores, it's ok to not make it obvious, but you need to make sure fans won't be confused 4. Value consistency, since it diminishes plot hole and an obvious plot armor 5. Always know when to use cliffhanger and when to put an important event at the end 6. Be relatable if the story allows it
@@minebrosfinest well it's a balance between "I hope 'character A' will have more screen time" and "goddamn it, end it already" And I think these many chapters for the Mangaka himself are the perfect meeting point to satisfy both parties. To me it's a bit too long, but I enjoy every panel of it
I don't think relatability matters too much. Like I doubt many can relate to Nagi, Barou, or honestly most of the characters in Blue Lock but look how many people love it. Even in Haikyu. I think the creator just made 3d characters and people attatched themselves onto them.
@@isaaccunningham6171 "... If the story allows it" I mean I can't be pirate, ninja, or grim reaper. But there's always a way to make the story relatable, if we pick the life of isagi for example, seeing these geniuses topped the class no sweat while we're struggling to find X on math exam, yes that's pretty relatable, the life of a common man who strives for the best. You got one there. (Although isagi isn't a common man on some parts of his life, but the struggle he faced, it reminded me of my past)
I really enjoy this anime. Started reading the manga too. I resonated with chigiri at the start as I went through a few shoulder reconstructions due to dislocation in rugby. It was very realistic in the sense of losing hope and 'never being the same again'. Whoever it was that made chigiri as a character really understood the hardships and how much it takes to overcome the mental barrier of injury. Perfect portrayal.
To be fair, Kageyama's arc is similar to Isagi's when Kageyama met Miya Atsumu and called him a goody two shoes so he finally had a realization that you need both an ego and a mix of teamwork to improve and be the best, which is also Blue Lock's main theme
Haikyuu is more of a down to earth but really cool sports story which is very accurate for the sport and is very carefully done. Blue lock is hype and ego. Both are perfect in their own ways
@@suryansdash5830 No, that's not the problem. The problem is that the games are poorly animated. Most of the goals don't show how the ball ended up in the net and you just see it there after the player was shown for a second that he is going to shoot. It's a lack of effort from the animation studio or lack of budget than anything else. Haikyuu is also realistic and tactical, but the games aren't mid like in Ao Ashi.
Blue Lock seriously changed my thought process and mindset and also how I look at life..... I can say that no other anime/manga did this to me as much as blue lock. In blue lock as soon as you get emotionally attached with a team the next chapter, the teammates are each other's rivals who are trying to crush each other and even crushing each others own teammate to score a goal by themselves...which is totally different from other sports animes where they focus on maximizing teamwork with the same team through out the story. And in Blue lock you can never take anyones affection towards you for granted. For example how Reo thought Nagi will always be by his side but as soon as Nagi gets better than him, he leaves. Every match the main character realizes that there is more room for growth and so much more to learn that he did not know.
@Tango At 12 seconds, he had already decided in his head that he was safe So when he got out, he talked about him being the treasure of Japan. Also, earlier with him talking about him, he wants to defeat Ego's philosophy, but he didn't have the drive to be better I think it was best for everyone.
you deserve more views but I just binged it today the only reason i didn't want to watch it is because i read the manga a year before there was even anime about it and let me say the stuff to come is beyond me deff needs a season 2 when they end season 1 since that's how good it is but i really just didn't want it to be a disappointment to the manga so i said f it and watched it today all the episodes and it was good extremely good (edit) okay this isnt a spoiler but the stuff Rin pulls off is stupid busted and op with a twist of funny hes a legit sadist in the manga
Interesting how he pointed out everyone looks like a main character. I was thinking the same! & It was weird to have so many cool characters I truly admire and connect with, usually it’s just one or 2, but here it’s like almost everyone’s a final boss. You’d think it’d be overwhelming, but I find it just makes it more engaging
I think that is actually Kira in the poster because that is supose to be everymember of team z at the beggining of the anime. Nagi shows up in later posters with the other characters that become important later.
As a 13yr female who used to be the peak definition of laziness, this anime changed me so much I gained a lot of confidence and built a way better mindset and environment for myself. I also joined basketball and soccer extracurriculars at my school, I’ve also started to work out everyday, and have way better academic results as of now! Although I still have the perfect balance of having fun and eating whatever sweets and snacks. Might be insane to some people but damn this anime changed me fr! (P.S. you don’t need to change yourself or anything you are perfect the way you are but if you ever wanna start improving go for it!)
5:32 "in sports everything you do has to be done instantly. the only decisions you can make are split-second descisions which increases the pressure dramatically" *laughs in track and field*
Haikyuu was the rule for me ngl. Especially those final moments in their fights against better teams, its so hype and intense. And dude remember when tall quiet Kei had his moments? HYPE. Or those matches against Toru?? Toru in general was a goat of a character. I’ll never forget when they showed the perspective of someone one a losing team playing their last volleyball game, like a slideshow of cuts of so much frustration, crying, or the haikyuu girls captain trying to look strong for the team but then crying when she got alone. I was so moved, I was literally crying. it was a masterpiece sequence.
Kageyama's arc only got finished in to the top, where the same philosophy as in blue lock was sorta actually employed, but skimping on the details is also something that just happens. The guy goes to training camp and all of the guys there basically made him release his subconcious limiter cogs, therefore having him reach the philosophy that he left in the first season, that he wont match his level to his teammates and that his teammates shouldnt do so either, resulting in the individual quirks of karasuno to have an explosive improvement. Ego is important, yeah, but ultimately it's the ego of all together that make for a team that's truly fearful, which was what haikyuu had the characters do, so what you said, wasnt the best example. I need to also clarify that the team agreed that he was too much of a goody two shoes too, and that he should feel free to go all out, and be the best player on the court if he wants, resulting in kageyama saying "I'll be the best at setting, serving, receiving, and spiking if I need to be" but ultimately, kageyama still wants to be the best setter, choose ur examples wisely man, it's kind of insulting to the author to mutilate characters like that.
I also was worried about blue lock surpassing haikyuu (my favourite piece of fiction ever) but now I realise that the two serve different purposes Hq has a lot more teamwork but it’s still about being strong enough to fight on your own, it’s about being bold enough to believe and dream even if it seems impossible In Blue lock everyone believes the same dream from the jump, they all want a spot on the u20 team to win the wc, it’s less about believing and more about rewriting what it takes to be a star player, idk just my take
To sum it up...haikyuu is like an avg sports anime/manga but it's the best in it's genre. Blue lock is more like football meets squid game(except no one dies lol)
Blue lock is just phenomenal. Like, the new concept they brought into the anime world about being an egoist is just creative af. Instead of comparing people need to learn to enjoy the anime. Isagi's character development is the best, man goes from a normie to an absolute beast.
7:00 i absolutely loved the episode of Chigiri. I used to do athletics, so obviously I loved to run, but then when i entered high school and they didn't have that. I ended up joining soccer. Long story short, right knee and left ankle got busted. Never ran again until they brought it back for some reason. My last two years of high school i wasn't the best there but i enjoyed it while i could so the chigiri ep got me good
No worries! The word “Soccer” was invented in Britain anyways!! Also I’m not generally a fan of sports anime but you’ve made this series seem so appealing! Great video!
I also got caught by Kira being Isagi's main rival. When I first read it, it wasn't obvious Isagi was gonna hit the bell at Kira due to the paneling. So I thought the ball was gonna hit Isagi but Kira would shove him out of the way and take the hit and go out, because I was spoiled by typical shonen friendship Bullshit. Then, the thing that got me hooked happened, Isagi slammed it into Kira's face. That was when I realized, Blue Lock was one of my favorite mangas. Best first chapter I've ever read.
With the newest episode as of now being episode 17, you gotta double back on that best duo being Bachira and Isagi statement. Nagi and Isagi are GODLY.
You’re right you’re right, I was just trying to use that as an example to show how Kira was being hyped up only to disappear on ep 2. I wasn’t being clear enough, mbmb😅
Nah the thing about blue lock is that it reminded me of Hoshiumi and Hinata. I expected to go in with something like haikyuu. But they aren't similar at all.
i actually do not think it is about ego. isagi doesnt care about that stuff and thats how he's gotten so far. look at how he threw away everything he knew to rebuild himself. all he does is continue to rebuild himself and adapt. maybe ego is a misdirection in bluelock and isagi is doing exactly what bluelock is looking for in a striker.
Facts as someone that started watching the anime day 1 of release. Having not read the manga and starting Haikyuu right before Blue Lock so having a anime thats more of a sport i would play irl was perfect timing. This shit is also just getting started from what Ive heard to SHEEEEEEESH. Cant wait!
This hook me up BADLY it's been a while since I've been this excited about an anime that I just can't wait for it to have many episodies so I can watch them all together. NO. This make me desperately want it to be saturday
Seeing Bachira really become his title on Episode 18 really makes me love the show even more. Isagi broke him and made Bachira go from King to Emperor. Just seeing him become an unstoppable force as he devours the playing field. Honestly props to the author who made it so that Bachira didn't become the type of person to give in to the "play as a team" that Isagi wanted. And when Isagi congratulated Bachira after purely dominating the game, that hit even different. The author really made it so that Isagi caused Bachira to evolve, almost as if Isagi wanted that to happen.
Haven't played soccer since I was around 6 years old. I wanted to try for my high school team, but couldn't keep my grades up, and was already an avid gamer who had lost their interest in sports. Finally decided to binge the first season, and bro... At 23, I'm actually thinking about getting back into soccer. This anime had me bouncing with excitement and shivering nervously with each play the characters made. Both the dub and sub are fucking bangers too, and the entire show itself is just pure hype.
thats still kira on that poster though. You can see that their hairstyles are the same and the mole beside the right eye is still there even in the poster.
The manga is soo good and the anime for once does justice with its sick animation. Also, you'll soon come to love Reo more, maybe in like season 2-3 lmao
Buddy, this is beautiful. You better keep at it. You will definitely make it. Fantastic job. I watched this 2 days ago and came back to watch it all again.
Oh hahahaha! 😂😂😂 Your way to explaining of this show is hilarious and absolutely correct! Blue lock is beyond awesome and I can’t count how many times I gasped and jumped up from my chair routing for the characters. Ahahaha I would definitely say that Bluelock ties with Haikyu. I can’t say one is better than the other because they are too different. Heh 😁 watch them if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it!! ☺️😁
I suck at dribbling, so seeing Bachira do all does tricks is so sick. If I would compare myself to one of the characters (play style) it would either Barou or Raichi. I am in no way anywhere near their physic but thanks to my powerful athletic genes and that I used to be a runner my stamina and strength is on top, I continue running nonstop to be a nuisance to the enemy team and since I suck at dribbling I just power through my way to the goal.
If you thing the anime is hype, then you are going to absolutely explode when you read the manga, it makes every simple thing, like the pass at the start of the game, to look like a really strong shot, the amount of detail in the mangas, almost every panel involves demon aura or puzzle pieces from isagi, and in the neo egotist league, Ughh, the drawings are SO GOOD, especially when he gets meta vision, it’s so hype bc he devours kaiser and gets recognition from his idol
They do make chemical reactions in blue lock though. It's just very antagonistic. But I wouldn't compare Blue Lock and Haikyuu (or most other sports anime) just because the philosophies are different. The basis of this show is a competition to come out as number 1 as an individual from the beginning, Haikyuu explores teamwork all the time and in the like third episode (where they win the 2v2) he talks about realizing he couldn't reach the summit alone.
Oh I bet Kira's gonna come around somewhere down the line to get revenge. In a story about ego, there's no way the author didn't utilize his story further.
Something I was thinking about when Kira was locked off in the 1st episode, what if they'll give a chance to the ones who've 'tasted defeat' to contest for a spot back in Bluelock in season 2? Can you imagine that? 😂😂 Valid train of thought since they CAN'T just go out like that and NOT appear again for the rest of the series...can they?🤔🤷♀️ Anyway, the anime made me want to go out and play a match again😂😂😂(played a bit in highschool) . The passes, goals, animations highlighting each player's specialty🤯🤯!! There was one where Isagi FINALLY realised what he could do best and coupled it with his spatial awareness and did A BACK KICK directly into the goal!!! I was so hyped I fell off my chair repeating how awesome it was🤯😂😂. And the friend dynamic of Isagi, Bachira and Nagi is something I DEFINITELY want to see more of.⚡️⚡️ Oh, and Barou is the king.⚡️😂😂 His ego, his playing, the animation sequence they give him in the second op⚡️⚡️...even his name sounds like a roar. A true lion on the field.💪🔥

1. You should grow other side characters, it's tiresome but worth it
2. You should keep some unknown info so that you can hook up fans with mysteries, do that until finale and you'll do good
3. You should have clear worldbuilding and lores, it's ok to not make it obvious, but you need to make sure fans won't be confused
4. Value consistency, since it diminishes plot hole and an obvious plot armor
5. Always know when to use cliffhanger and when to put an important event at the end
6. Be relatable if the story allows it
Really disliking the slow ass pace though I was waiting for the end of that match for like 10 chapters
@@minebrosfinest well it's a balance between "I hope 'character A' will have more screen time" and "goddamn it, end it already"
And I think these many chapters for the Mangaka himself are the perfect meeting point to satisfy both parties.
@@isaaccunningham6171
"... If the story allows it"
I mean I can't be pirate, ninja, or grim reaper.
@@sightfield I know that. I'm saying I think every show ends up having a relatable character, so focusing on making one isn't necessary.
I feel like the later half really pushed Chigiri to the sidelines, but he’s definitely still a top tier character for me!
Not gonna lie Haikyuu was the most inspiring show I have ever watched I really don't know which I prefer
To be fair, Kageyama's arc is similar to Isagi's when Kageyama met Miya Atsumu and called him a goody two shoes so he finally had a realization that you need both an ego and a mix of teamwork to improve and be the best, which is also Blue Lock's main theme
Isagi Yoichi is de definition of an Egoist, he is just HIM bro
4:58 blue is a battle shonen, soccer is just the power hierarchy of the verse.
Haikyuu is more of a down to earth but really cool sports story which is very accurate for the sport and is very carefully done. Blue lock is hype and ego. Both are perfect in their own ways
I am so conflicted between Blue Lock and Aoashi. Both are so good following completely different mentalities
i just enjoy both show . both are good !
@@karna6634 Same
I enjoyed both shows, but I like Blue Lock more when it comes to football. The games in Ao Ashi are very mid.
@@PersonaPrime yeah cuz the games in ao ashi are more realistic and tactical so of course they’ll be mid.
In the Manga they gave more explanation about Kira leaving, I'm glad he left
what was the explanation
@Tango
At 12 seconds, he had already decided in his head that he was safe
So when he got out, he talked about him being the treasure of Japan. Also, earlier with him talking about him, he wants to defeat Ego's philosophy, but he didn't have the drive to be better I think it was best for everyone.
you deserve more views but I just binged it today the only reason i didn't want to watch it is because i read the manga a year before there was even anime about it and let me say the stuff to come is beyond me deff needs a season 2 when they end season 1 since that's how good it is but i really just didn't want it to be a disappointment to the manga so i said f it and watched it today all the episodes and it was good extremely good
(edit) okay this isnt a spoiler but the stuff Rin pulls off is stupid busted and op with a twist of funny hes a legit sadist in the manga
Thanks! Good to know this show’s gonna get EVEN better
Rin is a menace 😨
@@SoFizzee you don't even know the levels of peak we're gonna get...
@@SoFizzee bruh the manga is hype machine . i dont know how they pull that off .
9:09 literally next ep : bachira leaves the team
I was freaking disappointed
I think that is actually Kira in the poster because that is supose to be everymember of team z at the beggining of the anime. Nagi shows up in later posters with the other characters that become important later.
2:18 "sports animes are about working to be the best version of yourself"
*shows the mc that tries to kill his father at the end*
"Bachira and Isagi are the best duo up there"
Having read the manga, I can neither confirm nor deny this information
As a 13yr female who used to be the peak definition of laziness, this anime changed me so much I gained a lot of confidence and built a way better mindset and environment for myself. I also joined basketball and soccer extracurriculars at my school, I’ve also started to work out everyday, and have way better academic results as of now! Although I still have the perfect balance of having fun and eating whatever sweets and snacks.
Might be insane to some people but damn this anime changed me fr!
(P.S. you don’t need to change yourself or anything you are perfect the way you are but if you ever wanna start improving go for it!)
5:32 "in sports everything you do has to be done instantly. the only decisions you can make are split-second descisions which increases the pressure dramatically"
*laughs in track and field*
Track is pretty great I can’t argue 😅
I need to also clarify that the team agreed that he was too much of a goody two shoes too, and that he should feel free to go all out, and be the best player on the court if he wants, resulting in kageyama saying "I'll be the best at setting, serving, receiving, and spiking if I need to be" but ultimately, kageyama still wants to be the best setter, choose ur examples wisely man, it's kind of insulting to the author to mutilate characters like that.
yeah bunch of men kicking around balls hyped me up so much
😏
I also was worried about blue lock surpassing haikyuu (my favourite piece of fiction ever) but now I realise that the two serve different purposes
Hq has a lot more teamwork but it’s still about being strong enough to fight on your own, it’s about being bold enough to believe and dream even if it seems impossible
In Blue lock everyone believes the same dream from the jump, they all want a spot on the u20 team to win the wc, it’s less about believing and more about rewriting what it takes to be a star player, idk just my take
To sum it up...haikyuu is like an avg sports anime/manga but it's the best in it's genre.
Blue lock is more like football meets squid game(except no one dies lol)
@@venomgaming2077 kind of but I think he said it better
@@jumping_beanz6209 I'm not having a competition of who says it better I just summed it up lol
@@venomgaming2077 I know your summing it up
Bro I joined sports anime recently and I love all the characters you mentioned and the animations is INSANEEEEEE
Blue lock inspired me to get better at soccer and Haikyu inspired me to try out volleyball so they’re both very important to me
Kira gotta comeback on some crazy shi no ways he went out like that
Blue lock is just phenomenal.
My last two years of high school i wasn't the best there but i enjoyed it while i could so the chigiri ep got me good
Blue lock was so crazy that when the season ended I went straight over to catch up to the manga and I'll tell you it only gets WAY better
The season is still ongoing???
living at a time where blue lock coincided with arguably one of the best world cups was unbelievable hype.
This video is a masterpiece! Keep up the great work
No worries! The word “Soccer” was invented in Britain anyways!!
Also I’m not generally a fan of sports anime but you’ve made this series seem so appealing! Great video!
blue lock is litteraly just demon slayer season 2. but 3x the storytelling and twice the hype
Glad you're loving the anime! Been keeping up with the manga and oh. my. lord. THE HYPEEEEEEE
Nagi and Isagi are GODLY.
what if hira comes back stronger than ever and puts a really good match for isagi and the others
“Nagi leaving Reo was the funniest shit ever bruh” ME AND MY GANG HEART BROKEN OVER HERE OVER IT 😭😭
0:22 pretty sure the person on the poster is kira not nagi
When this man gave us his backstory on why he didn't watch blue lock I was like dawg no one cares
pretty sure that is kira in the poster not navi because it’s only team z and it’s doesn’t really look like nagi
But they aren't similar at all.
it isnt nagi behind isagi in that poster it is kira lol
yep
i actually do not think it is about ego. isagi doesnt care about that stuff and thats how he's gotten so far. look at how he threw away everything he knew to rebuild himself. all he does is continue to rebuild himself and adapt. maybe ego is a misdirection in bluelock and isagi is doing exactly what bluelock is looking for in a striker.
5:59 "not only is he such a wild card" manga readers, if you know you know 😈
When a certain someone becomes an edge lord.
His personality just changed overnight tho- idk what ego must have fed him
Facts as someone that started watching the anime day 1 of release. Having not read the manga and starting Haikyuu right before Blue Lock so having a anime thats more of a sport i would play irl was perfect timing. This shit is also just getting started from what Ive heard to SHEEEEEEESH. Cant wait!
Gonna subscribe because u deserve it man … feel the exact same way u do
This hook me up BADLY it's been a while since I've been this excited about an anime that I just can't wait for it to have many episodies so I can watch them all together. NO. This make me desperately want it to be saturday
Blue Lock Saturdays make me happy
I play soccer and dribbling is my main thing so seeing bachira just makes me want to be better
bro just wait till the next arc, that shit got me taking my shirt off and screaming. THE NEXT ARC WILL SHUT THE INTERNET DOWN
Seeing Bachira really become his title on Episode 18 really makes me love the show even more.
The author really made it so that Isagi caused Bachira to evolve, almost as if Isagi wanted that to happen.
its Barou* lop
@@o7_technoblade Yeah my bad lmao, knew something was wrong while typing it
Haven't played soccer since I was around 6 years old.
Stopped watching right after 3:38
thats still kira on that poster though. You can see that their hairstyles are the same and the mole beside the right eye is still there even in the poster.
The manga is soo good and the anime for once does justice with its sick animation. Also, you'll soon come to love Reo more, maybe in like season 2-3 lmao
Other shounen sports: FRIENDSHIP! NAKAMA! TEAMWORK!
Blue Lock: I WILL EAT YOU I WILL DEVOUR YOU THIS IS MYYYYY GOALLLLLL
5:27 Homie really flexed high school varsity soccer 💀😭😭
That is Kira in the poster. The mole under his right eye proves it.
6:45 I SAW THAT I SAW THAT, YOU CANT HIDE THAT
"Kicking around ball."That could mean a whole other meaning buddy.
The manga is looking good rn so idk. I always wanted him to come back tho
Kira are too worthless to comeback
Bachira was like: if you stay you'll bring ma boi down... So you need to go
Something I was thinking about when Kira was locked off in the 1st episode, what if they'll give a chance to the ones who've 'tasted defeat' to contest for a spot back in Bluelock in season 2? Can you imagine that? 😂😂 Valid train of thought since they CAN'T just go out like that and NOT appear again for the rest of the series...can they?🤔🤷♀️
Anyway, the anime made me want to go out and play a match again😂😂😂(played a bit in highschool) . And the friend dynamic of Isagi, Bachira and Nagi is something I DEFINITELY want to see more of.⚡️⚡️
Oh, and Barou is the king.⚡️😂😂 His ego, his playing, the animation sequence they give him in the second op⚡️⚡️...even his name sounds like a roar. A true lion on the field.💪🔥
the whole show in THREE words and ah scream
ILL DEVOUR YOU RAHHHHH
Istg bluelock is amazing. I litterely binge watched it in one night
The haikyuu part is so SO real tho. i love blue lock but haikyuu got a part of my heart
The white hair dude needs justice, like imagine last game it's him
I didn’t know seeing a bung of men kicking around balls would excite me so much xD
I think that is kira in the picture same hairstyle and his mole is in the same place
the nagi n kira thing u said abt thinkin kira would be his rival is the SAME THING i thought but it turned out to be nagi
"a bunch of men kicking around balls"
BRO WHAT THE F-
I’M GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY NOTICED THAT AHAHAHAH
Nooooo, what was your answer? 👀😂 Good vid, and bluelock is defintely up there..like way up there.
Blue lock that anime that has me saying every character is HIM and I 100% believe it
Bro the HYPE BIRTHING episode was king's comeback
That was HYPE!!!
