With PCVR compatibility for the PSVR2 becoming so popular and the headset being so well received by PCVR gamers, there is always the possibility that Sony will just put out a firmware update to open up the whole feature set for pcvr developers and moders?
@@rodriguezkev I am sure the price cut is imminent, but PCVR enthusiasts are really looking at the PSVR2 as a really good value high performance PCVR headset with OLED displays and displayport technology even at its current retail price, I paid £650 for a Reverb G2 in 2022 and that was a great LCD headset but the PSVR2 just outclasses it in every way but for the audio solution for £529, and to think it was on special offer for £349 last week, its just amazing value for money even at its full retail price.
I think I got into VR quite early when I bought the PSVR1 for my PS4, which introduced me to a whole new dimension of gaming. The first time I put it on, I knew that VR gaming had hooked me and wouldn’t let go. After that, I went through headsets like the Rift S, Quest 2, and currently, I have a PSVR2 and Quest 3 at home. Last year, I sold my gaming PC with an RTX 3080, and I somewhat regret it, but since I’m semi-professionally involved in creative work, my current Mac suits me much better. Anyway, with the PC adapter for the PSVR2 and the fact that I’m all about the OLED gang in VR (the immersion is on a whole different level compared to LCD), I’m now just waiting for the announcement of the RTX 5080 to build a new PC. I’m planning on doing that next year. I’ve been following you for a while now, and I find you incredibly likable. I hope that in time, you’ll gain many more subscribers because you create quality content, and I’m glad I can share my passion for VR gaming with others in this way. Thanks a lot for the video! 🔥
We need like 1 more year so a (hybrid wired/wireless) pcvr headset with pancake lenses, eye tracking, inside-out tracking, and bright mOLED displays can drop along with the 5080/90 then PCVR can really cook. Maybe Valve can come though.
Given the connectivity problems, having BT in the PC adapter would have been a connectivity nightmare as many users are having to buy extenders to avoid EM interference. Having the BT separate was the right call for many reasons, including not requiring Sony to manage drivers. Ideally, the controllers would have connected to the headset not the PC/console. Yes, re: the display port cable omission. 100%

The reason I am not PC gamer anymore for a long time now is the setup stuff and all the problems you have to deal with with a lot of games. So I might give it a go (as I have a quite powerful PC) but I feel uncomfortable because using the Quest 2 and later the Quest 3 with PC games was sometimes a nightmare. Especially with the controls. I gave up on some PC VR games completely. Configuring the controls in Steam is just a mess.
I was a PC gamer for a good part of 20+ years but once I got my ps4-ps5, I mostly left PC. I will be getting a brand new PC now because Psvr2 has gotten me fully into VR. But you are right, PC is just too much tinkering and issues. While consoles is just gaming.

But it keeps closing the game and Steam after a few seconds.I get a glimpse that indeed it works and then it's gone. Also the headset being stuck on 120hz on AMD is annoying. I was already saving up to buy a Nvidia card but i might have to speed that up.
I think a 4080 for your gpu would be great. Definitely, NEVER buy any intel cpu with the recent news. Be sure your power supply is powerful enough, and turn off your power supply whenever you do anything to the pc.
Remember, you will need a usb drive with the operating system of your choice (Opensuse, Linux Mint, Arch, Gentoo, Windows [you probably need windows, it's terrible, and has ads and stuff, but they have the monopoly on gaming] )
Will the pcvr adapter reduce the potential profit for devs on ps5, and therefore reduce the number of releases there if there is a release window difference? Are you likely to buy a native vr game after playing mods on pc?
People buying the vr2 now are most likely not on ps5 to begin with. If anything it might eb easier to port to psvr if it finds enough users on pc. As for the amount of games in ps5 the writing is in the wall.
@@kenb.1096 Doubt it being any easier than writing for a meta or vive headset on pc, with so many features stripped back for the ps5. There's still the extra hurdles sony puts in place before publishing. Even so there are over 240 games on the system in less than 18 months. This also doesnt answer my original questions.
@@Gamecat_Photonutter why would it decrease profit then ? my take was that it wont make a difference since im sure pc psvr2 and ps5 pcvr2 consumers arent overlapping that much and steam or psstore its still 30 percent cut so i dont think its changing how much money theyll make. And im sure this isnt accelerating the decline of psvr2 game releases on ps5 more, than the current state of releases. i just dont think this whole thing will change the overall trajectory of psvr2. only a permanent pricedrop and firstparty support will
@@kenb.1096 Maybe that does answer my first question, thanks for clarifying. Do you think pcvr users are replacing their meta headsets or its more of an expansion of the vr market then? Also would you think of buying a developed vr game after buying a modded version?
@@kenb.1096 30% of a larger market for the dev with less hoops for quality assurance and development time/cost. I don't have a gaming PC. I just have a Lenovo think center. I think it's got the minimum requirements but people are saying no. It also doesn't have a DisplayPort adapter so I'd have to buy like a two-way one. I bought the adapter already and the DisplayPort and the dongle and half-life Alex. So I'm in the whole 120 bucks. I don't know if I should try to buy an adapter and spend another $20 and be $140 in the hole.... Cuz I'm not buying a game gaming PC just to play a few games. I could go out and buy another headset for that. Nothing really works out and my favor anymore so I'm not surprised but I was really upset that a lot of people told me I don't have enough power to play and I wasted 120 bucks. I think maybe after aliens I might just get rid of my psvr 2 at this point

What I find aggravating, the Sony adaptor is sold out. Unless you buy on eBay then I will be paying $120 versus the $60 msrp. The actual VR device is also on eBay for $350 on average so I'm looking at over $450 or so. Or love my Quest 3...I will likely buy the whole set then refer to videos like yours
Two things ... 1) how does the PSVR2 compare to the Meta Quest 3 and 2) will Sony now allow their exclusive games (such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil 7 and 8 ) come to the PC?
Sony exclusives won't come to PC. Flat games barely sell, they have 0 profit incentive to port VR games when they actually need to make more exclusives on it. They have to worry about that.
yep! I’ve tried Q3, pro (but only twice), Q2 and Apple Vision pro. As I say in the review - if you prefer that wide sweetspot and wireless nature then get a quest! for me though, I love OLED due to its colours
Sort your sound out! Intro blares out and then can't hear your own commentrary after having to turn it down because of your intro volume. Really don't understand why TH-camrs can't get the balance right.
Do you own a Quest 3? You’re talking about comparison with a Quest but I’m unsure you have one. Nothing in your channel suggest you own a Quest 3. And your comparison is so paper thin.. All I heard was a lot buzz words that Quest haters who dont own a quest always mention. Compression. There’s a reason why a lot of quest3 owners dont care about that anymore. You also never even mentioned the lens or some of the other things. Making this a clearly bias comparison.
I have heavily used Q3, Own Q2. love both headsets! I tell people to buy a quest for its benefits in this video. all of my 2022 to mid 2023 PCVR videos are filmed on quest. i’ve also used Apple vision pro and Quest Pro (but only once each!) However, this is a review of PSVR2, with some light comparisons to quest. If you want a full comparison this isn’t the video for ya.
@@Jammyhero If your gonna do a comparison even small do it properly. Compression for starters isn't a big deal on the Q3 due to Virtual desktop 200 bitrate Av1 and 500 bitrate H.264+. And on wired link 960 bitrate as well. I would say the biggest difference two devices for PCVR purpose it really came down to this. If its something really quick and not a full comparison. PSVR2= Wired + better colors (OLED) Quest 3 = Wired/wireless + better clarity (Pancake Lens).

I was already saving up to buy a Nvidia card but i might have to speed that up.
I will test out some UEVR for you and let you know!
@@Jammyhero That's very kind, thank you!
@@Jammyhero Don't know why or how, but it just started working now. So that's good. anyway, thanks
I'll get the adapter at some point (want a new gfx card) but my psvr backlog is still pretty big.
I have the headset already I need to get a pc. I’m looking for a complete build ready to play. I’m a Mac owner no nothing about PC. Any suggestions 😊
I think a 4080 for your gpu would be great. Definitely, NEVER buy any intel cpu with the recent news. Be sure your power supply is powerful enough, and turn off your power supply whenever you do anything to the pc.
Feel free to get a pre-built. It saves a lot of hassle, but it is a bit more expensive.
Never get Alienware, and don't buy a gaming laptop. They're garbage for the price.
Remember, you will need a usb drive with the operating system of your choice (Opensuse, Linux Mint, Arch, Gentoo, Windows [you probably need windows, it's terrible, and has ads and stuff, but they have the monopoly on gaming] )
Gaming works perfectly on everything I listed, but VR is pretty much windows only as far as I know.
Can you play beatsaber? I'm having some weird problems with it
Will the pcvr adapter reduce the potential profit for devs on ps5, and therefore reduce the number of releases there if there is a release window difference?
The thought of people buying software on a ps5 after the stages of mods if applied or later release windows, with possibly lower overall cost to the consumers. As most people say they wouldn't and didn't buy into the console for the odd exclusive, why would they now?
The TP link recommended dongle was garbage, i had one for my laptop so used it on my PC and the tracking was awful but the onboard BT on my aorus master MB worked so much better so now it works flawlessly
The dongle needs to be updated with the latest driver from TP Link website and ideally used with a USB extender. Then it works fine.
@@volv Even with the updated driver it was still garbage. the 5.2 BT on my MB works perfectly
I'm an AMD user too and a bit confused about why it needed to be locked to 120hz? Has anyone got any insight into why this might be as I'd love to be able to get some performance back with a lower refresh rate
I read there is a new update for the PS app that now supports changing modes for AMD.
I see you, Elite Dangerous. 😉 Come on. Give me a clue, Jammy. A taster. Is it THE GREATEST?

Not should you buy... but CAN you buy 😅
Will it work with a gaming laptop ?
Look up a German guy called Mo-fun-vr. Put CC on and translate to English. He has on running off his laptop with a 2080m via thunderbolt port and a adapter.
You're PC should have Bluetooth on the motherboard if not your next one will . $410 to be playing pcvr with OLED displays no one should complain tbh
Don’t all modern pc have Bluetooth?
I had to go back to my index. The psvr2 keeps crashing my pc and giving me steam errors I’ve never seen before. It works sometimes. It’s a 1 out of 10 for me until sony fixes the issue. I’ve tried everything and I mean everything.
Will the price of psvr 2 will drop i am french and still 599 euros
It’s was on sales last week for $349 eu

Display port 1.4 or 2.1 ?
I get micro stutters in Alyx was wondering if it's the display port cable
@paulbellino5330 1.4 for me!
@@Jammyhero thanks

1.4 is what is required for this headset.

Yeah I just kind of lost the steam and got kind of pissed off because I can't find any help and then the two people just said basically I'm an idiot and I don't have a powerful enough PC. There's got to be a way around it. Thank you for the recommendation. I will check it out. A lot of these TH-camrs don't help other people out and a lot of the main TH-camrs don't take time to answer people for the most part cuz they're busy making more content but I appreciate it. I can't be the only one experiencing this, but it feels like it. @@FurBurger151
The process has been a headache for me. Plug and play it is not
What I find aggravating, the Sony adaptor is sold out. Unless you buy on eBay then I will be paying $120 versus the $60 msrp. The actual VR device is also on eBay for $350 on average so I'm looking at over $450 or so. Or love my Quest 3...I will likely buy the whole set then refer to videos like yours
Two things ... 1) how does the PSVR2 compare to the Meta Quest 3
and 2) will Sony now allow their exclusive games (such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil 7 and 8 ) come to the PC?
Sony exclusives won't come to PC. Flat games barely sell, they have 0 profit incentive to port VR games when they actually need to make more exclusives on it. They have to worry about that.
lol this looks so paid up review. Did you even try a Quest 3 or a Quest Pro ever
Exactly what i think, the sweet spot IS so weak vs quest 3...
yep! I’ve tried Q3, pro (but only twice), Q2 and Apple Vision pro. As I say in the review - if you prefer that wide sweetspot and wireless nature then get a quest! for me though, I love OLED due to its colours
I have one and would so NO dont bother with PC, get a quest.
Sort your sound out! Intro blares out and then can't hear your own commentrary after having to turn it down because of your intro volume. Really don't understand why TH-camrs can't get the balance right.
quest3完胜
You are wrong! Got them both and PsVR2 wins. The Oled lenses is the so good..
I tell people to buy a quest for its benefits in this video.
all of my 2022 to mid 2023 PCVR videos are filmed on quest. i’ve also used Apple vision pro and Quest Pro (but only once each!)
However, this is a review of PSVR2, with some light comparisons to quest.
PSVR2= Wired + better colors (OLED)
Quest 3 = Wired/wireless + better clarity (Pancake Lens).
If you can find it for sale.
Yo e tenido suerte ningún problema mi Bluetooth de mi placa va perfecto todo se configuro a la primera y de momento sin fallos
Final verdict lmao... Bit early for that => there has been an update already adressing 'smearing' and the 90hz option for AMD gpu's
