Victory Engines are freaking bullet proof... Owner of an 07 Victory Jackpot..

The noise is the rear cam chain which can be fixed by adding a spring to the tensioner piston. I did mine a while back and it's perfectly quiet now.

Good to hear. These motors are tough. Don't push your luck with the transmission though....

@@340rps actually they aren't, look up Victory transmission circlip failure. It's an ever growing problem with these and the 6 speed transmissions.

@@diamondavid it didn't affect all bikes, just bikes that supposedly had either the clips installed wrong or weak clips. Easiest way to tell if yours is going bad is to idle the bike and lean it to the right and listen for clunking. If there is, it's on its way out and allowing 3rd/4th gear to clash which will allow the transmission to lock up destroying the transmission in the process. If you're a member of the forums you'd know this.

+Rob Mcginley It ended up being a loose baffle in the pipe. I was scared to death till I found it. The engine is rock solid.

EG 4562 stick a rod down the pipe and hit the baffle out with a hammer. It’s just a plug. It’ll sound better afterwards also. Just start the bike and they’ll come out. I knocked my baffled out a half hour after I bought it
