Heard someone say it's important to stick to stocks that are immune to economic policies. I'm looking at NVIDIA and other AI stocks. Or are there better recommendations? I've got $250k ready money and I'd love to invest to secure my future, I'm 31.

I find it more productive and safe to buy growth/blue-chip stocks rather than tech stocks. It's advisable to work with a fiduciary advisor for well-diversified portfolios instead of relying solely on speculations.

Agreed, After taking charge of my portfolio in early 2017, i stumbled into losses. Upon realizing that a change was necessary, I consulted a fiduciary advisor in 2020 and since then my $3.2m portfolio has gained 28% annually through restructuring and diversification using dividend equities, ETFs, mutual funds, and REITs.

I agree that many people are considering NVDA as the "Stock of the year." However, I'm curious about which stocks could potentially become the next META in terms of growth over the next decade. I've allocated $200k for investment, aiming to retire comfortably

    • @hankmarks69

I think the next big thing will be A.I. For enduring growth akin to META, it's vital to avoid impulsive decisions driven by short-term fluctuations. Prioritize patience and a long-term perspective consider financial advisory for informed buying and selling decisions.

We re at the beginning of an industrial revolution, this is not a speculative bubble. Just look at AI progress crushing expectations every 3 months. Nvidia feels more and more like a monopoly, I mean ~70% profit margins... you cant pull those numbers in a competitive market.

On the earnings call, Nvidia's CFO said they are "supply constrained as demand far exceeds supply" ... It sounds like, customers may get tired of waiting for their orders of chips to get filled, and spread those orders around to some of Nvidia's competitors like SuperMicro and AMD. Is that a wrong-headed interpretation?

Why are people saying “what if AI demand fades” it’s like saying what if internet demand fades.. growth will slow but it’s not going away. But not now.. we are just at the start it’s like 1998 and people are already bearish.

    • @Lolatyou332
      @Lolatyou332 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Yeah being bearish against the overall market can make sense since it's rally has been insane, but to think that AI demand will fade AT ALL is stupidity.
Right now you cannot afford to not be in the market as once AI actually becomes functional enough to replace white collar jobs means these large companies will have significantly lowered their bottom-end and significantly increased their overall profitability.
The only question that comes into play is what government regulations will do to prevent poverty and civil unrest due to massive loss of jobs.

What you see there is the culmination of 30 years of evolution. Think of it as the iceberg effect: You can only see a fraction of what is really going on. There has been code developed for that long on a platform that is not really portable because nothing else quite does what it does. In the beginning, they had graphic cards, and people were trying to catch up with them. Then they offered a means of running your own code in the graphics card which enticed some people to mine bitcoins with their GPUs. Others are trying to catch up. The problem is that when you have a code base of the type needed to run LLMs and their training, it is far from trivial to port these to a different architecture. If what you want to do is USE AI tools, then what is there at present is NVDA.
If you want a road map, just go back to INTC 1995 and look at the curve. This is the inception phase.

Nvidia makes physical objects but they are also focussing more and more on software and features. AMD can make chips, technoloically the equal of nvidia's, but they can't compete on software and features. It's the reason why stealing market share from nvidia in the datacenters from nvidia will be very hard for AMD.

They have the best, smartest, most forward-looking people working for them, and they spend a ton on R&D that the other companies either don't or can't afford to, so it's always nVidia who leads with the latest new tech... it's insane. I'm not personally holding NVIDIA outside of the SP500...
I graduated in Computer Science with a 4.0 GPA, AI demand is not going to fade, infact most companies aren't really utilizing AI to an extent they should be.
Sure they are using algorithms for things such as search and google analytics, but actual general AI can be improved for almost every company as they can get advertising / product recommendations more personalized.
They can get workers to use more AI related tools to improve overall efficiency, etc.
We're also at the infant stage of general AI, general AI is going to become critical for every day life.
Imagine instead of 'just google it', you just use a general AI that tells you the result within a degree of certainty.
Google and Microsoft are fighting for that future and their investments alone are going to continue to expand as they become better at delivering that future.
Tesla is in a completely different market, the EV market is basically dying because the infrastructure and battery technology is not at the level it needs to be at in order to actually convince regular people to buy them. EV's are also massively dropping in price and also have a terrible depreciation because of the lack of confidence in battery technology and the cost related to fixing batteries. You can use old engines on ICE vehicles, but you cannot use old batteries on EV's as a replacement.
