I think people tend to hate on Airbnb because it isnt as cheap to book accommodation as it used to be. But as an investor in the company it continues to impress and is a cash flow machine
Great analysis as always, thanks. However, I think Airbnb doesn't have a moat. Many private hosts offer accommodation on Booking because of their lower fares. Booking is also much more guest-friendly because it doesn't allow for arbitrary fees (eg. cleaning fees). Edit: regarding Airbnb's larger offering base: Booking "slides" apartments into search results - unless you explicitly filter private hosts out of your query, you'll be shown both hotels and apartments in the result list.

It is not only the Olympics, it is the European Championship in football (soccer for you) and Cope America (both starts in June this year)!! Thats normally creating good momentum for tourism and betting! 1,5 Mio people attended matches in 2016 for the Copa America when it was held in the US 2016, and for the European Championship, they expected only 2,5 Mio people in Berlin during the tournament!

Like the video! How does free cash flow margin change if say interest rates drop to say 3% and how does that affect the valuation. The Forward PE vs trailing jumps quite a bit.
Wouldn’t that impact interest income more?
@@6toolbaseball ya I guess free cash flow margins wouldn’t be directly impacted as those are interest income. EPS would just trail off as less interest is earned. I just think it’s weird to value how PE and FCF valuations show 2 different stories.

4 Bn$ FCF includes "UNEARNED FEE" & "Stock Based Compensation". For ABNB, FCF is not a good metric to track profitability. This stock is very expensive.

Why is net income so much lower than FCF?
Can be due to various things, as an accountant I frequently see it due to high degree of deferred earnings or revenue being captured (adv payments), big stock based compensation expenses that don't match to cash earned, or big non cash acceleration (like depreciation)

Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. the strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.
